God was Reconciling the World to Himself in Christ Not Counting Your Sins Against You!

Christian’s need a solid foundation upon which to base their beliefs, and build their lives. The word of God declares that Jesus Christ is that foundation of Truth with that in mind, let’s now take a Closer Look at Your Identity in Christ.

Bob: I believe that a part, of course, from understanding the deity of Christ and the finality of the Cross and the reality of the resurrected life, living in us, which is all a part of your identity, all of that ties into it, but there’s going to have to come a therefore, sooner or later. And that therefore, is I am a child of God. Or aren’t I? And if I am a child of God, what does that mean? And how do I perceive myself as a new creation? Because it certainly doesn’t do me any good to perceive myself as an old creation because that’s not who I am anymore. The Saving Life of Jesus Christ – Salvation for Sinners!

Clarence called from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He called about salvation. He said he had lived a hard life, and a life of sin. He wanted know if he could be healed. He wanted to know if he could be saved. He wanted to know if there was any hope for him. He asked the bottom-line question, “Am I earmarked for damnation now? Or is there anyway at this point that I can be saved?”

Yes, Clarence you can be saved.

Bob says to the salvation question, “Yes absolutely, God didn’t come to save good people, there aren’t any good people. He only came to save sinners. And in that, we are all well qualified.“

Understanding the Fullness of the Gospel

When learning about new things, we tend to learn it better and retain what we have learned when we hear something and see something. Also, when we say it out loud or teach others what we have learned, it reinforces it in our own mind of the truths being taught to us. Jesus even makes mention of this learning experience in the word of God.

For us today, learning the fullness of the Gospel message can be helped along by both hearing the word of God and seeing the word of God and saying the word of God out loud for ourselves too. This is where the Closer Look Bible Studies are so beneficial in teaching us the fullness of the gospel message. We hear it, we read it, we say it, and then we write it down too. Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P7 (11-30-21)

What is the Meaning of the Resurrection?

Many times a person will tell you that the meaning of Jesus’ death on the cross was for forgiveness, but when you ask a person the meaning of the resurrection of Jesus, they are likely to give you a blank look on their face. They may say that was what verified that He died on the cross for our sins, yet they don’t have a clue what His resurrection life is all about.

Salvation is life. And, if indeed Christ is not raised from the dead, then our faith is worthless. The resurrection is key for LIFE. The death of Jesus did not provide life. Jesus death provided forgiveness but the resurrected life brings life to you and me through faith in Him.

1 Corinthians 15:17
¹⁷ and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

Hebrews 10:17
¹⁷ Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

Romans 5:10
¹⁰ For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Choose Jesus For Life – Jesus Took Away Your Sins on the Cross, He Did Not Atone for Sins

Jim from Little Falls, NY called about limited atonement. This is one of the things that Calvinists and Reformed theologians cling to. Atonement is what the blood of bulls did (it covered sins). Jesus did not atone for sins. He took them away. He took the sins of the whole world upon himself. The biblical word is propitiation.

1 Peter 3:18
¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven. Salvation is life.

Romans 5:10
¹⁰ For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

People wrongly think that getting your sins forgiven is salvation. That is reconciliation but not life. They have this idea since they have been taught that if the worlds sins have been forgiven then everyone will be saved.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Wages of Sin is Death, But the Gift of God is Life

Most pastors are teaching a half gospel. Many teach that a person “gets” their sins forgiven when they ask God for it. Yet without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Hebrews 9:22). Jesus forgave your sins on the cross so that He would give you life, His eternal life when you place faith in Him. Forgiveness is found only in Christ Jesus. No one gets their sins forgiven today apart from Christ Jesus. The only thing a person can do is receive His forgiveness when you receive Him and He gives you eternal life the moment you place faith in Him.

Romans 5:9-11
⁹ Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! ¹⁰ For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! ¹¹ Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
