Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection P2 (11-10-21)

The Fullness of the Gospel in all its Truth.

Many people have grown in some sort of religious upbringing, whether Muslim, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, or whatever it may be. But even if you have not, the celebration of the birth of Christ is a well known holiday throughout the world. You have probably heard about a man named Jesus of Nazareth who died, was buried and rose again. Even on our calendars is written B.C., meaning before Christ was born, and A.D., meaning the day of our Lord. So, the fact that he was born into this world is a well known indisputable fact. And, there is evidence that he lived, died and was buried. There are even eyewitnesses who testified of his resurrection from the dead. But do you know why a person named Jesus came into this world? If you were asked, “What is the meaning of the cross?”, how would you respond? If you were asked, “What is the meaning of the resurrection?”, what would you say?

Colossians 1:6-8
6 In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world – just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all of its fullness.

Jesus King of Kings

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P40 (11-08-21)

The Gospel in all its Truth

The Gospel in all its fullness, a righteousness from God that has been revealed, Christ alive living in you, your only hope of glory, is bearing fruit. When people think of the gospel, is that what they have heard and understood? Or, have you heard a half gospel, a gospel of merely getting your sins forgiven? Have you understand that there is a righteousness from God that has been revealed or are you still trying to obtain righteousness by what you do? Are you begging God to forgive you when you sin? Have you made up your own ideas of what righteousness is and how to get it? If so, then that is what man-made religion is.

Man-made religion never made anyone righteous in the sight of God any more than the Jews could under Judaism, by following the laws of Moses, the ten commandments and all the rest. Neither can man make himself righteous by doing the best he can. Any sort of system man makes up, whether confessing your sins to a priest to get forgiveness or going to an altar begging God to forgive you, or doing this 1 John 1:9 of keeping short accounts with God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is King of Kings Lord of Lords

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P39 (11-03-21)

Receive Jesus and His Eternal Life in You and His Righteousness Imputed to You

What transpired at the Trial and Crucifixion of Jesus reveals who Jesus is and what He came to do. Jesus is God, He died in our place in order to give us eternal life. He came to be a king of a new kingdom not of this world, for His kingdom is to be lived within you, His righteousness imputed to you.

As you read again in the gospel of John, in John 18:28-40, where Jesus appears on trial before Pontius Pilate, with the kinds of questions Jesus is asked and His answer, and the unbelievable hypocrisy of the Jewish leaders, and the willingness of the Roman rulers to be so complicit in what ultimately led to His crucifixion, what insight, what understanding can you glean as to who Jesus is and His purpose on this earth? Can you come to a conclusion on not only what he died for but what He came for, as it relates to the meaning of not only the cross but also the resurrection?

John 18:28
28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor.

You Have Been Reconciled to God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P38 (11-02-21)

Have You Understood the Complete Gospel in All Its Fullness?

Many times people have heard a gospel as merely getting your sins forgiven. To have your sins forgiven is a necessary part of the gospel to be given, but it is at best a partial gospel. Yes, it is good news to know that your sins are forgiven. But as good as that is, to know your sins are forgiven and that there is no more sacrifice for sins (Hebrews 10:16-18, 1 John 2:2 NASB), the full and complete gospel is that God sent Jesus to die for your sins in order to give you new life through His resurrection, to live His life in and through you. True salvation is not merely getting your sins forgiven but the receiving of new spiritual life in you, God’s life.

Romans 5:10
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

There is no power in just knowing your sins are forgiven. The Jews under an Old Covenant, right after the day of atonement, had their sins covered until they left the altar of sacrifice and sinned again.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Convict the World of Unbelief in Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P37 (11-01-21)

The Fullness of the Gospel; The Finality of the Cross; The Reality of the Resurrection; Christ In You Your Only Hope of Glory

Join Bob as he teaches through this lesson on The Finality of the Cross. We will not understand the reality of the resurrection if we do not understand the finality of the cross. The scriptures bears that out in so many ways. Let us review about this warning of unbelief, that you see to it that you do not fall away from the truth. But you cannot fall away from what you have never come to. So what do we need to see as truth, to rely on and give our hearts to?

Colossians 1:3-4
3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus

I heard about the reliance you have come to on Him. You will note that he did not say because we have heard of your dedication to your denomination. Or I was just thanking God for you because I heard how faithful you are to your church attendance.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
