Synopsis

Who is Jesus Christ, and by knowing that, what does that mean to me personally? That is the question of the century. Certainly he is a man of history, someone who walked on this earth, as even our calendars are divided into B.C. and A.D. There were prophecies recorded down in the scriptures that predicted what would the promised Messiah would do, as spoken by the prophets.

Then we read about the eyewitnesses of Jesus Christ, while he was on this earth, and he fulfilled every one of those prophecies. Then we had the testimony of Jesus’ interaction with Mary Magdalene, his mother Mary, his disciples and the afflicted, who recognized who he is and bowed down and worshiped him. He healed the sick, made the blind see, walked on water, calmed the storms by His word, spoke words no man has ever heard, penetrating the hearts of men, exposing their inner heart to them, yet extending mercy and grace, being full of grace and truth. Ultimately he died on a cross and rose again, just as the prophets said would happen. Synopsis

So often mankind lives in error because of the futility of their thinking. We are born spiritually dead, without the life of God in us, and until we are born again, we are essentially left to our own carnal thinking. We think we can pull it off and obey the law, or we think we can decide for ourselves what is right and wrong, and have no understanding that God within the man is indispensable to the proper functioning of the man.

I have spoken to a person who is lost, who will reject anything I say about Jesus but will say she picks out the good things out of all religions. The understanding of the lost is so foreign to someone who is now in Christ. We only know what it once was like because that is how we once thought.

Then we are born again, where the Spirit of God comes to indwell within us. The Spirit of God teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions. We Have The Mind of Christ Jesus

Classic Christianity – Christmas P1 (12-21-20)

Synopsis

In this world, we can begin to see terrible events unfold. We can certainly see clearly this conflict between good and evil. The degree of that will depend, to some extent, what exposure you have to sources of information concerning current world events, for there is also so much fake news and misinformation.

Nevertheless, we tend to see these horrible things happening as something unusual, yet the Lord tells us that evildoers will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. We tend to forget what the Lord has told us, and can let ourselves be overcome with fear. But God tells us to keep our focus on Him, to continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of. Of all people, we, as children of God, should hold out hope. We should testify of the hope we have within us. We should be full of joy and peace, as we allow God, who is living in us, to bear that fruit in our lives.

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P28 (12-14-20)

Synopsis

As we ponder over the prophecies from Isaiah concerning the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we are amazed at the precise details and how they were all fulfilled in the person of Christ Jesus. We know about this because there were eyewitnesses of these things, who wrote down all they saw and heard. These were the disciples of Jesus, primarily Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And the apostles proclaim the truth of what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for you and me, even as the prophets foretold He would come to do. Surely He is Immanuel, God with us!

There are well over 300 prophecies fulfilled from the Old Testament prophets, who lived anywhere from 500 to a 1000 years before Christ was born. These are a sampling of the prophecies fulfilled just in Isaiah 53 alone. These were written down through Isaiah around 700 B.C.

Jesus Said You Will Have Tribulation

Synopsis

We all have many questions as we are growing in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. And we are continuing to grow until the day we die. So we will go through trials and tribulations in this fallen world we live in. People will cause us harm or emotional pain by the choices they make, and at times, we will slip up and do that to others. So how do we deal with such things, as we get into different situations in life?

Are we supposed to claim verses as promises of God for us, like the “name it and claim it” people do, or just say whatever God’s will is, and be okay with that? Do we attribute something as God’s will when it is really the will of some other man walking in the flesh? Some of our questions are not even about trials and tribulations, but we hear something from someone that kind of throws us off. Jesus is Prophecy Fulfilled Yesterday Today and Tomorrow

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P23 (12-01-20)

Synopsis

Have you ever loved to read history books? Were you there when president John F. Kennedy was assassinated? Did you see what happened on live television? What if you were one of the disciples who saw what happened to Jesus? How would that impact your life? Would it be just an event in history to say that you know that horrible event happened to him? By knowing that president Kennedy died, did that make a difference in your life today? Maybe it did in some way, if you realized what could have happened if he never died? In the case of Jesus of Nazareth, do you see a deeper meaning, a greater purpose for what He came to do, when he died only to be raised to new life again on the third day?

Jesus fulfilled a plan that was recorded even in Genesis 1:1, if you look carefully at every Hebrew symbol and know the numerical meaning of that symbol, and how those combinations of symbols map out a future unfolding of events. Think about what the prophet Isaiah said.
