Receive Jesus Today

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P28 (12-14-20)

Synopsis

As we ponder over the prophecies from Isaiah concerning the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we are amazed at the precise details and how they were all fulfilled in the person of Christ Jesus. We know about this because there were eyewitnesses of these things, who wrote down all they saw and heard. These were the disciples of Jesus, primarily Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And the apostles proclaim the truth of what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for you and me, even as the prophets foretold He would come to do. Surely He is Immanuel, God with us!

There are well over 300 prophecies fulfilled from the Old Testament prophets, who lived anywhere from 500 to a 1000 years before Christ was born. These are a sampling of the prophecies fulfilled just in Isaiah 53 alone. These were written down through Isaiah around 700 B.C.

Jesus Said You Will Have Tribulation

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P592 (12-10-20)

Synopsis

We all have many questions as we are growing in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. And we are continuing to grow until the day we die. So we will go through trials and tribulations in this fallen world we live in. People will cause us harm or emotional pain by the choices they make, and at times, we will slip up and do that to others. So how do we deal with such things, as we get into different situations in life?

Are we supposed to claim verses as promises of God for us, like the “name it and claim it” people do, or just say whatever God’s will is, and be okay with that? Do we attribute something as God’s will when it is really the will of some other man walking in the flesh? Some of our questions are not even about trials and tribulations, but we hear something from someone that kind of throws us off. We kind of get shaken up a little bit, or start having doubts about what the word of God means, or if I can trust this or that translation of the bible?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Prophecy Fulfilled Yesterday Today and Tomorrow

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P23 (12-01-20)

Synopsis

Have you ever loved to read history books? Were you there when president John F. Kennedy was assassinated? Did you see what happened on live television? What if you were one of the disciples who saw what happened to Jesus? How would that impact your life? Would it be just an event in history to say that you know that horrible event happened to him? By knowing that president Kennedy died, did that make a difference in your life today? Maybe it did in some way, if you realized what could have happened if he never died? In the case of Jesus of Nazareth, do you see a deeper meaning, a greater purpose for what He came to do, when he died only to be raised to new life again on the third day?

Jesus fulfilled a plan that was recorded even in Genesis 1:1, if you look carefully at every Hebrew symbol and know the numerical meaning of that symbol, and how those combinations of symbols map out a future unfolding of events. Think about what the prophet Isaiah said.

Isaiah 46:10
10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.

Jesus Came to Set You Free

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P587 (11-12-20)

Synopsis

Tony asked a question about false prophets, those men who say they heard from God. Nobody today is getting direct words from God today. Those who prophecy today are proclaiming truth from the scriptures that have now been closed. The canon has been closed. Anyone proclaiming words of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses or the other cults is not a prophet. Not only is he not a prophet, he is a deceiver.

Stacey asked about why Jesus was tempted when he is God and is never tempted. Bob cleared up her misunderstanding. Someone can be presented the temptation to sin, but if you are perfect like God then that really is not a temptation to you. Sin was offered to Jesus by Satan is what is being said here but Jesus is not ever tempted by sin that he should sin nor does he tempt anyone to sin. We sin by our own evil desires.

There are many things we are tempted by but there may be a few things we are not tempted by. But if I was not tempted by something, then it would not tempt me if the temptation was presented before me.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Forgave You Once For All Sins

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P585 (11-05-20)

Synopsis

As people grow in Christ, you will have questions. Someone might ask, “I thought you would stop sinning once you are saved. Am I not saved then, since I am still sinning?” I think if you thought that, you will find out very quickly that that cannot be true, that you stop sinning. You will begin to sin less, but none of us will ever walk in complete faith in God, and that is the essence of sin. Anything that does not come from faith is sin.

So it goes back to understanding what Jesus accomplished at the cross, when he shed his blood once and for all, and about our fallen nature we inherited in Adam, and coming alive in Christ Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, he took away forever our sins, and the sins of the entire world, from the eyes of God. He took the full weight of death required for all sin. That is why when we are in Christ, there is no longer any condemnation for sin. If you are not in Christ, that means you remain dead in your sins because you failed to come to Christ to receive life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

New Life in Christ Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P584 (10-30-20)

Synopsis

When you become born again, all things become new. Yes, there is growth, a renewing of the mind that has to occur, and will occur. We have an enemy, called Satan, that speaks through to our flesh. We learn to recognize the voice of God and what truth is, so that we can demolish those strongholds, those lies of Satan, and begin to walk in the new life God has given. God is tender toward us, and we have been given a new identity, called a child of God.

That new identity we have, a child of God, not a sinner saved by grace or an ex-convict, but a child of God, and when you grasp that truth, that is the starting point in which growth occurs. When you realize that God will never leave you or forsake, and loves and accepts you unconditionally, then that is an anchor to your soul. If error is what binds you, then truth is what sets you free.

So listen now as Bob shares truth with a believer who came to Christ while in prison and is now finding himself struggling with feelings and thoughts in his mind, having been released and out of prison for a year or so.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
