Believers Are The Church

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P575 (10-01-20)

Synopsis

In general, people call in because they want to know what truth, to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Some may be infants in Christ, and others may be believers for quite some time, but have been wandering around in erroneous teaching, and are just beginning to grab a hold of what truth is. Even topics as basic as Baptism and the Lord’s supper. Even those that rightly understand that baptism, that of water, does not save you, but is a ceremony, do not understand the Lord’ supper.

There are those who are genuinely confused over baptism, and that can vary depending on your religious upbringing. But, as you read scripture, it would become very clear to you. Both John the Baptist and Jesus clearly tell us about the fact that the water baptism that John performed was to be replaced by the spiritual baptism that Jesus alone accomplished for us, placing into the body of Christ the moment you, by faith, came to accept his death, burial and resurrection for you.

The Lord’s Supper, sadly, has been more perverted than anything else. Countless many have turned it into an introspection on sin, and have turned it not into a celebration of the New Covenant we are under but fear of eating of the bread and drinking of the cup in an unworthy manner, lest you incur condemnation.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation is Life Through Jesus Life

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P574 (09-25-20)

Synopsis

A question commonly brought up by many, many people is about their fear of losing salvation. People who ask that question do not know what salvation is. If you were to ask people, “What is salvation? What does it mean to you?”, then nine times out of ten you will get the answer back, “Jesus died for my sins.” That is not what salvation is.

Salvation is receiving life. That is why the apostle Paul said that without the resurrection we are still dead in our sins. The issue is not about sin, but about death and your need for life. Sin caused your death and the wages of sin is death. So what a dead man needs is life, and the only life available to man is the resurrected life of Christ Jesus.

The cross is what Jesus had to do to take away the cause of our death, which is sin. That was what Jesus had to do to prepare us to receive life. For if sin was not taken away first, eternally, then the next time we should sin, we would die again. So salvation is being saved from the consequence of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Took Away All Your Sins at The Cross

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P570 (09-11-20)

Synopsis

You cannot escape troubles in this fallen world, and many people have gone through horrendous things in this life, abuse of all kinds, beaten and rejected by a spouse, or molested by a close relative, and they carry hurtful and very painful memories and scars. But God wants us to be set free with truth, to turn our eyes to Him and live in His wonderful grace. We choose not to recall those painful memories, except to the degree that we can comfort others, who are going through the same things we did, with the same comfort we received from God.

So let go of the past so you can live in the present. And at times, even the present circumstances you are in, you are an overcomer in Christ, who promised to cause all things to happen for the good to those who love Him and are called according to His good purpose. It is not that he will make bad good, but He will cause all things to turn out for your good. For example, if someone is so hard of heart, such as an unbelieving spouse, and he does not want to live with you, then let him go, as scripture says.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Talking to You

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P63 (09-09-20)

Synopsis

So we allow Christ to live His life in us and through us by having our minds renewed with truth, of who God is, so that new attitudes of heart are formed in us, the attitudes of servitude, of humility and dependency that are in Christ Jesus, and modeled perfectly by Christ as He walked on this earth, in appearance as a man, being God, but functioning as a man for our sakes. We imitate His faith, not His actions. Actions are a result of attitudes, a result of dependency on Christ, being internally led by the Spirit of God who lives in us. When you have the Spirit of God living in you, then you can hear His voice like a sheep knows the voice of a shepherd. As a new creation in Christ, we have been given the privilege to participate in the divine nature.

Now, we were not born alive with the Spirit of God living in us. We were born spiritually dead. That is why man feels empty inside, because he is. He has a body and a soul and a human spirit, but his human spirit is dead to God and not able to discern the things of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Our Only Hope

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P31 (06-29-20)

Synopsis

Let us learn about laying a solid foundation of Christ Jesus living in you. You must start with and continue on with gaining a deeper understanding of Christ, who is your life. It is not only going to be a foundation of what your hope of glory is, but it will be a foundation for you for subjects like predestination and election, which was discussed last week. It is a foundation in which to live in all godliness, which is by faith.

With any foundation, if your premise is off, then everything else will be off. Without a proper understanding of these things, without a foundation, you really cannot understand the scriptures correctly, they make no sense, and you are tossed to and fro by every wind of teaching. So we looked at Pentecost and how Christ is the head of the body, the church, the Ekklesia, made up of both born again Jews and born again Gentiles. So you have a place to start and build on, to form a solid foundation. From there, as you read through Romans, Ephesians and Hebrews, you begin to understand things more and more, such as the difference between law and grace and between the old covenant and the new covenant.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

God Jesus Father and Holy Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P534 (05-08-20)

Synopsis

Listen as people call to get answers to their questions. Some people want help in how to witness, or get clarification on explaining the Trinity, because they get into these conversations with people who deny the Trinity. The Trinity is that there is one God but three persons all being God; that is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We may not be able to comprehend it but we can apprehend it because of what has been written down in the scriptures of what Jesus said. The key advice Bob shares is do not try to put flesh and blood on Spirit. That is where people get into trouble. Then Bob used an illustration of an egg to try to explain the concept of the Trinity. Egg white, egg yolk and an egg shell are all distinct characteristics of an egg, but each one individually is still an egg.

After explaining the concept of the Trinity from the scriptures, Bob addresses a caller who is getting tangled up in a conversation with those who deny the Trinity. Bob says, “I believe the denial of the Trinity is denying God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
