Jesus is God I AM

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 29 (06-04-19)

Bob George teaches from John 6. Bob shares that the humble of heart are the ones the Father gives to Jesus, whom the Father draws and enables to be saved. The humble have come to the end of themselves, their philosophy, their religion, or their best efforts. Their circumstances, such a divorce or loss of income, and world view of life all came crashing down on them to lead them to the point of despair or frustration. They humbled themselves and said to God, “I can’t but you can”. Now they are ready to turn to Jesus for the answer to life, that Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life. But God resists the proud. The proud will not see God. The Father will not give the proud to Jesus for they will not trust him, they do not see their need of him and do not want Him. The proud is satisfied with their religion or tradition or insist that there are many ways to God. For the Father only gives to Jesus those who are humble of heart, for they are the ones ready to listen to Him so as to trust him to receive new life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Looks at Your Heart

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 28 (06-03-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the gospel of John. Currently, he is reading from John 6, picking up after where Jesus just fed five thousand men, not including women and children, on a few loaves of bread and two fish. This whole section here is the key to understanding who you are in Christ Jesus. As you read John 6, notice the response of the Jews. They did not seek to know God but only sought Jesus to have their bellies filled. Seek spiritual food that endures unto eternal life. Let us not seek the Holy Spirit, the Father or an experience but get to know Jesus, that He is God. Do not be proud of heart, but ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you. God look at the attitudes of your heart and not as man sees. He wants to give new life to you. Consider what Jesus is trying to reveal to man about himself, that he is dead and in need of life. That is why he came from heaven, for man to recognize his state of spiritual death and come to Christ for new spiritual food that endures to eternal life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Lord Save Me

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 27 (05-29-19)

Bob George shared from John 6 and Matthew 14 on the miracles of Jesus, the healing of the sick, the feeding of the five thousand with two small fish and five barley loaves, and calming a storm after walking on water, then continues teaching from Matthew 15. God is in the miracle working business but the greatest miracle is the transformed lives of men. Jesus did these miracles because the Father told him to (John 5:19, John 8:28), for God is full of compassion and tender mercy (James 5:11).

He was here on earth on a mission, a plan from before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:19-20), to go to the cross and rise again, a command he received from His Father (John 10:18). He came to do something for man that man could never do for himself (Matthew 19:26).

He first came to prepare the hearts of men so they may know who he is, that he is God (John 10:38, John 5:18, John 8:58), and see their need, their unrighteousness (Romans 3:10) and God’s righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). At times Jesus was not what we would call tactful and was quite firm in telling the truth about a person’s hypocrisy, to shine the light on their condition of spiritual death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Books

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 26 (05-28-19)

Bob George continues now in the book of John where we read about different miracles Jesus performed. The major theme Bob shared is to keep our focus on Christ rather than our circumstances. He is bigger than our circumstances for he is God. Peter and the disciples were beginning to see that through the miracles that Jesus did, that Jesus is God. When God says for the people to sit down then have the people sit down. Jesus fed over five thousand people that day with two fish and five barley loaves. If God tells you to walk on water, then keep your focus on Christ. For when you don’t, you sink. Yet God in his grace picks us up and tells us, “Oh, you of little faith. Why did you doubt?” God knows all men and knows our tendency to not believe truth when we hear it. Why did God perform miracles through Jesus? What does God want us to know?

We learned previously that Jesus only does what His Father tells him to do. Why was Jesus doing the miracles he was doing? The Father was telling him to do miracles.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Love of God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 25 (05-27-19)

Bob George TeachingWe read from John 5:42, where Jesus spoke to the world, and said, “I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts.” Bob George earlier explained that Jesus came to dwell with men so they may see they are dead, without the Holy Spirit living in them, in order that they might hear the words of life and come to Jesus Christ to receive his life. The life that is in Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit of God. Having emptied himself of his divine attributes, Jesus, as God in the flesh, walked on the earth as a man. He lived as a man, showing us how mankind was designed to live, by being total dependent on the Holy Spirit (John 5:19, John 8:28).

Bob George digresses to teach from 1 Corinthians 13 to explain how the fruit of the Spirit must come from abiding in the vine, the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. God is the source of love for God is love. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:8). The pride of men, as in the religious world, whom Jesus confronted, hinders men in coming to Christ for life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Who Do You Say I Am

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 24 (05-22-19)

Bob George shares from John 5, on the testimony of the Father concerning Jesus. Bob emphasized the life of the Holy Spirit living in a person, producing the fruit of the Spirit. That ultimately is the work Jesus came to do. One characteristic of the Spirit is love (Galatians 5:22-23). Then he shares from 1 Corinthians 13, explaining how Jesus came to expose the pride in man, that he may humble himself, recognize his state of spiritual death, and come to walk in the newness of life, with the Spirit of God living in him. The opposite of love is not hate, but pride. As a born again person, Jesus is showing us today how to live in dependence on the Holy Spirit of God. He is the vine and we are the branches. We love because he first loved us. Allow the love of he Holy Spirit to be produced in you and through you.

Bob George shares from John 5 on the testimonies of Jesus. We have read about his early life and his public ministry, his miracles, the testimony of John the Baptist, and where Jesus identified himself as the promised Messiah.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
