Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P9 (02-24-21)

Synopsis

It is so vitally important to form convictions on what truth is, so that it changes the attitudes of your heart based on what is true, and ultimately shows in your behavior. How are these convictions formed? By what man says? Or by what the Spirit of God reveals to you through His word? But what if you do not understand what the word of God means? How do you know that what you hear are words taught from men or from God?

First of all, do you even believe the word of God is what it is, the very words of God, inerrant and they are alive and active, profitable and useful to you, applicable to your problems of today, whether bulimia, anorexia, drunkenness, dysfunctional families, and whatever struggles and issues you are facing today, by whatever label man puts on those things? Do you see the issues of life as something that are modern day problems that have to be addressed by a psychologist or a psychiatrist?

Who created you, and indeed the entire universe by His spoken word? So certainly He knows how the mind works and how man thinks and what the attitudes and thoughts of his heart are?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P8 (02-23-21)

Synopsis

The word of God points to Jesus Christ. Inasmuch as Jesus is alive, His word is alive. You cannot separate those because when God says something, it is a total reflection of His being, unlike us. So God is living and God is active. He is alive and so God’s word is living and is active.

The word of God had to be confirmed and it was, but all scripture points to Jesus, in what He came to do for us through His death, burial and resurrection for us, so we may live a new life. All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, correction, rebuke and training in righteousness. The word of God that we hold in our hands will teach us. Teach us what? Truth. That will do what? Set us free. It is teaching for rebuking what is taught. We have gone off the road, and it tells us we are off the road. It is useful for correcting. What is that? Getting you back on the road. Training for righteousness. What is that? Keeping you on the road. So the word of God truly is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, and Christ in us reveals to us the meaning of the word of God so we may live a new life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

We are studying A Closer Look at the Word of God. If you believe the bible is true, but your only understanding is to why you believe the bible is true is because you just believe it or the pastor said it, then you are on flimsy ground. If you do not believe the bible is true, then also follow along with us on this study. Either way, you need to know why these scriptures are true. The internal testimony of the writers themselves and Jesus Christ Himself, who is God, are the only people who can effectively convince that to your heart. But the word of God is not like any other book you read for information, to get a grade to get a degree so you can get a good paying job. No, this book is read to get to know the author, the divine author, who is God.

We are going to look at the internal evidence, which can be understood by reading what was recorded through the prophets of the Old Testament. There are over 300 prophecies that were all fulfilled in the person of Christ Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Fulfilled The Law And The Prophets

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P610 (02-19-21)

Synopsis

There are things that are taught in religion or major denominations that are just not in accordance with what is true. We believe it because it was taught to us, frequently enough that we do not even think to ponder over whether it is really true or not. A Baptist pastor teaches what he has been taught from a Baptist seminary. So too, a Presbyterian minister teaches what he has been taught from a Presbyterian seminary. And so too with the Methodists and the Catholics. They are taught to depend on what man tells them rather than depending on the Holy Spirit to reveal to them the meaning of the word of God.

Sadly, none of these denominations agree, and they continue to repeat error, generation after generation. So, the church is in sad shape, and often those who know the truth are compelled to leave because they would be silenced or isolated, called out as being divisive, because what people hear, the truth, is contrary to what they have been taught by men, and they will not or are unable to accept what you say, expounding on the scriptures, from what the Spirit has taught you as truth.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Light of Jesus Makes Everything Visible

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P609 (02-18-21)

Synopsis

As we grow in Christ, we start asking questions. That is what children do. But are they getting the right answers, the right nutrition to grow? It is fine if you are an infant to feed on the milk of the word, but you need to start moving on towards eating meat when the time is right. So where do you get your convictions formed? Do you believe something because your pastor says it is true or because that is what my denomination taught me since I was a child? How do you know it is true? Recall that the apostle Paul commended the people of Berea for diligently studying the scriptures to see if what he said was so.

Let us look at the teaching that is so prevalent in protestant churches about tithing being for today, and that you start giving ten percent, as so many pastors teach. Is that true for today? Where do most pastors tell you to turn to? Malachi. Have you ever read the entire chapter of Malachi 3 for yourself? Are you a descendant of Jacob? No. Then the book of Malachi is not talking to you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Word of God P6 (02-17-21)

Synopsis

What conviction do you have that the scriptures are the word of God, are inerrant, and are applicable today as it was over 2000 years ago? Are the problems of man we face today in our lives, anxiety and depression, any different than back then, since the fall of mankind? Yes, we may have advanced technology that can cause more devastating destruction, but deep down is not the root cause of all the problems of man rely inside the heart of man? Do you think that God had a solution to our problems only in today’s world through psychology or philosophy, or that we have become so sophisticated, that we can solve our problems through science and psychology and relegate God to just our initial salvation, such as a guarantee of a new life after we die, but then He just leaves us alone for us to figure out and solve our problems on our own?

So what confidence do you have that God left us His word, the scriptures, as a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Jesus also identified Himself as the Light of the world.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
