Jesus My Lord and My God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P32 (01-05-21)

Synopsis

We all have doubts in life. It is just natural to mankind. “How do I know Jesus is God?” “I have to see to believe.” These are things you may have said, or even heard others say. Have you thought through the truth of such a statement, that I have to see to believe. A lawyer once said, “Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.” Everything that you see and hear must be verified with corroborating evidence. So what evidence do we have so we may believe Jesus is God?

Sometimes seeing can get us into trouble, when our eyes are focused on the trials and storms of life, and you think all is lost. In the natural realm, yes, a storm could sink your boat and you could drown. But who is in control of all things, the storm and the seas of life? Consider the real life lesson as told by Jesus when his disciples were out on the Sea of Galilee in a fishing boat, when a storm rose up all of a sudden. Then Peter sees Jesus walking on … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Calms the Storm

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P31 (01-04-21)

Synopsis

What are you looking for? Has every need been met in your life? What about the meaning and purpose to life? What about a reason to live? What about wisdom, righteousness and forgiveness? Many people, lost and saved, are looking for things, something that lasts. They may not even be sure what they are looking for. And, if you are saved, have you not realized all that you do have in Him? You do not seek what you already have.

At some point, it is vitally important that you come to realize that the thing you are looking for is not in a thing but in a person, the person of Jesus Christ. I am not looking for wisdom, for in Him, He became wisdom for me. I am not looking for forgiveness, because in Him, I have become a forgiven person. He has become for me my wisdom. He is my righteousness, holiness and redemption, living in me. Apart from him, I did not have any of that. I am not there looking for a reason to be alive. I did not find a reason to be … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Came to Take Away Sin Not Cover it

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P30 (12-16-20)

Synopsis

We continue in our study of Daniel’s prophecy of the coming Messiah, where the exact time in history, April 6, 32 A.D., where Christ Jesus would ride in Jerusalem on a donkey, often known as Palm Sunday today, was predicted. As we know that event did happen, exactly as recorded in Daniel, and described by the disciples of Jesus.

Daniel also predicted a final week of time, or last seven years of time in history as we know it today, that is a period of tribulation the world has never known. If anyone lived during the tiem of Nazi Germany, and know how horrific that was, just multiply that by a hundred times over.

We read in scripture about a time in history prior to that last seven year period of tribulation. The dead in Christ and those still living on earth will meet the Lord in the air, to escape this time of trial. This is often known as the rapture. As we see events unfold before our eyes, and as Jesus said, when we see the events Jesus described as the beginning of birth pains, He … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Is Prophecy Fulfilled in History

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P29 (12-15-20)

Synopsis

We will read about a prophecy from Daniel, an absolutely exciting prophecy of the exact time Jesus made His triumphal entry in Jerusalem riding on a donkey. Daniel prophesied the exact date in history when that event occurred! Daniel’s prophecy was written around 535 B.C and Jesus came riding on a donkey on April 6, 32 A.D., the exact time determined from Daniel’s prophecy! God must really want us to know something!

God wants us to know Him, that He is God, and by knowing God that we might have life in His name, to live as God intended for us to live. Daniel prophesied that when the Messiah comes that He will put an end to sin, to take away the sins of mankind from the eyes of God, bring in everlasting righteousness, seal up vision and prophecy, and anoint the Most Holy One. Jesus Christ fulfilled all that was recorded by the Old Testament prophets concerning Himself. No more prophecies today as that ended with Christ.

When events like this happen to the precise time in history, and was written down beforehand, from a prophet of … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Receive Jesus Today

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P28 (12-14-20)

Synopsis

As we ponder over the prophecies from Isaiah concerning the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we are amazed at the precise details and how they were all fulfilled in the person of Christ Jesus. We know about this because there were eyewitnesses of these things, who wrote down all they saw and heard. These were the disciples of Jesus, primarily Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And the apostles proclaim the truth of what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for you and me, even as the prophets foretold He would come to do. Surely He is Immanuel, God with us!

There are well over 300 prophecies fulfilled from the Old Testament prophets, who lived anywhere from 500 to a 1000 years before Christ was born. These are a sampling of the prophecies fulfilled just in Isaiah 53 alone. These were written down through Isaiah around 700 B.C.

Jesus Took Away All Sins on The Cross

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P27 (12-09-20)

Synopsis

If you enjoy history, and you had the opportunity of seeing people in Israel, seeing the Roman coliseums, seeing the Jews dressed in the style of clothing that you see pictures of in the history books, it makes an impression on you. Now consider that the Jews living back then saw Jesus just like any other man. Jesus came in appearance as a man, and if it were not for the overwhelming evidence, it would be difficult to believe someone claiming Himself to be God. How much harder would it have been for them?

Yet, the same is true today as it was then. If any man desires to know God, God will reveal Himself to him and make Himself known to him. But if a man wants to rely on his religion, then his heart will not be open to truth, and that is so sad.

Today, we have the scriptures recorded down for us by those who were eyewitnesses of Christ Jesus, who saw all that happened concerning Jesus of Nazareth, and who also had the scriptures of the prophets. Today, we can compare what was … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
