Propitiation - Jesus Took Away the Sins of the World

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P691 (12-02-21)

With Jesus, Forgiveness is Finished – Quit Making a Public Disgrace of the Cross by Asking for More Forgiveness From God

With so much religion talk in the world today, including that of Christianity, there is a teaching in both Catholic and Protestant churches that you have to keep going back to God to get your sins forgiven. The Catholic goes to the confession booth to a priest and the Protestant goes to their own virtual confession booth and continually asks for forgiveness of sins. These people are making a mockery of the cross. They have never repented in their understanding of what Jesus did on the cross for them. They keep pushing Jesus back up there and asking Jesus for what He has already done. Many many people refuse to believe in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Join Bob George as he answers these questions and others on the air.

Robert called from Bakersfield California and called about Hebrews 6:4-6. Bob explains about the New Covenant.

Hebrews 10:14-18

Choose Jesus For Life

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P690 (11-19-21)

Choose Jesus For Life – Jesus Took Away Your Sins on the Cross, He Did Not Atone for Sins

Join Bob George as he answers questions from callers on the air.

Jim from Little Falls, NY called about limited atonement. This is one of the things that Calvinists and Reformed theologians cling to. Atonement is what the blood of bulls did (it covered sins). Jesus did not atone for sins. He took them away. He took the sins of the whole world upon himself. The biblical word is propitiation.

1 Peter 3:18
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven. Salvation is life.

Romans 5:10
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

People wrongly think that getting your sins forgiven is salvation. That is reconciliation but not life. They have this idea since they have … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

What the Cross Made Possible for Mankind: An Indestructible Life

What did Jesus’ shed blood on a cross make possible for you and I? And, if Jesus was not raised from the dead, would all that was made possible by the cross be a reality in our life? Think about these questions as you ponder over the passages of scriptures in Hebrews, where the New Covenant God made, not just with the Israelites, but with all of mankind, is explained. Looking at specific passages in scriptures, such as Hebrews 9:22, 27-28, Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:1-18, what conclusions can you come to in regard to the totality of the cross? What can you say in regard to the forgiveness of sins, of being made holy, to be made complete, in Christ?

What God has done for us in this New Covenant is He tells us that He will remember our sins no more and where these have been forgiven there is no longer any sacrifice for sins. In order to usher in a New Covenant, what was done in order for God, through His resurrected life, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

The Cross Settles the Sin Issue; A Necessary Preparation for Eternal Life

Most of the world knows that history is divided into B.C., before Christ, and A.D., Anno Domini, the year of our Lord just from the calendar. A subset of the world knows historically that Jesus died, was buried and rose again. There is much information out there, but the most reliable and trustworthy information is the scriptures available to us today, the Word of God, written down through eyewitnesses of these events. Much of the world has the bible translated into their own language.

As you study the scriptures, you will discover that from God’s vantage point, history is divided into before the cross and after the cross. There was a time period in history before the cross when the Israelites were under an Old Covenant agreement with God. After the cross, that was replaced by a New Covenant agreement (Hebrews 9:16-28). Under a New Covenant, or new will, you will discover that it is an agreement with the godhead, to provide for mankind what mankind could never receive under an Old Covenant (Hebrews … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus, God in Flesh, Sacrificed Himself Once for The Sins of The Whole World!

The Old Testament, as described in Deuteronomy, the ten commandments, is a list of commands that God commanded man to keep. In addition to those commands, all that is contained in the Law of Moses, the ceremonial laws, grain offerings and dietary laws, were required to be kept. Included in that was the sacrificing of bulls and goats, to cover sin. That was called atonement. Once a year, on the Day of Atonement, the Israelites were required to come to Jerusalem to get all their sins covered, that they had accumulated that whole year. The high priest had to sacrifice a bull or a goat brought to them by a person wanting their sins covered. Those sins were only covered until the next year, and those sacrifices would have to be performed all over again. In addition to those annual sacrifices there were also those daily sacrifices for sin as well, that would never end, and could not take away sins. They were a constant reminder of sin (Romans 3:20) and could … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Quit Sinning Against the Knowledge of Truth!

As Bob has said numerous times, all of us have been taught error from various denominational persuasions of men. The scripture that continually comes up in certain circles of Christendom is in Hebrews 10:26-31. People often think that to mean that if I do those dirty dozen or those nasty nine sins, deliberately, then I am going to hell. Many get fearful of this passage because they do not have proper understanding, because they do not understand what Jesus accomplished at the cross. People should be fearful, if they are sinning against the knowledge of the truth and after receiving the knowledge of the truth. The truth is people do not understand or realize he is talking about the sin of unbelief. He is talking about sinning against the knowledge of truth.

Now, if someone understands the truth, but deliberately and stubbornly says, “I do not care” and I am going back to the day of atonement or to my confessional booth to a priest to get my sins forgiven or as a Protestant quoting 1 John 1:9 to keep short … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
