Jesus is the Creator of All Things

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P16 (11-09-20)

Synopsis

You can grow up in church all your life, and be quite religious. You can sit in a bible study among people who identify themselves as Christians. You may have never even heard someone identify themselves by Christian before. Many today do, but the Christian identification has lost its meaning because there are so many now who identify themselves as Christian but have no clue of who Christ is and what He came to do. My mother-n-law used to think anyone born in America is a Christian. You may have heard the very first time, the words, “born again”. These kinds of “Christians” seem to have their own vocabulary, like doctors or lawyers do. You may have even been asked the question, “Are you saved?” What kind of question is that? That is so foreign to your understanding.

Well, think about the disciples who ate and drank with Jesus Christ. What did they think about Jesus? Many people said that he spoke like no other man, that he had authority from some other place to speak like he does. Others say he is a great teacher or a great moral person.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Says Who do You Say I Am

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P15 (11-04-20)

Synopsis

So concerning this person called Jesus of Nazareth, what have you concluded him to be? Do you think he is a madman, a lunatic, a liar or that he really is who he claimed to be, God in the flesh? What have those who walked on the earth with him, who saw him, touched him and ate with him, have to say? What did they have to say about him? Were they lunatics, liars or impostors too? Or did they believe him to be who he claimed to be, God in the flesh?

And if Jesus really is God in the flesh, then why would he want to come down and live on this rotten earth, with so much sorrow, sickness, pain and death? Why would he subject himself to such things? And why would he put on human flesh? And if He came from heaven, and he said he only says what His Father told him to say and what to say, then what words of God did he say that he wanted us to know? This must be a very important person to come from heaven to explain things to us?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

In Jesus We Are in The Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P561 (08-13-20)

Synopsis

A common question asked by many believers is what about this flesh of mine? I do not understand what I do. Another common question is why are there so many denominations out there, and they all seem to have their own and different interpretation on different things of scripture? Why is that, if the Holy Spirit leads you into all truth? And, if the Holy Spirit gives you truth on something, how are you going to know?

First of all, when you are born again, you now have the Holy Spirit living in you. You have the mind of Christ living in you to explain spiritual truth. A person born into this world is not born with the Holy Spirit of God in him. He was born of mom and dad, with a human spirit alive to this world, but dead to God. He must be born again. Until then, he cannot discern the things of God, for they are spiritually discerned, requiring the Spirit of God, alive, living in you, to teach you.

Then you must understand that this flesh of ours, even as a born again believer, is still indwelt with sin.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Walk by Faith in His Spirit

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P44 (07-28-20)

Synopsis

Do we, you and I, really grasp God’s love for us? That is what God’s power is for, to know the depth, height, width, and breadth of this love God has for us. When we face trials and tribulations, and we will, do we doubt that God loves us? That is where this truth that God has stored in our hearts comes alive in faith. When we know that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, then those trials and tribulations are seen as but light and momentary, forming in us attitudes of heart far greater that can never be taken from us. See, we come to the depths of understanding that Christ really is our life.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Jesus is Our Wisdom

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P43 (07-27-20)

Synopsis

There are so many times that we hear, or have said things ourselves, that are just not true. Whether we are a new believer, not having spent enough time in the word, or are not getting in the word, to get to know the Agape love of God, we have not fully grasped what we already have in Him. We do not know He is there. We might know in our head, can quote scriptures from memory, but we do not know what that means, for what is in our head has not gone down into our heart. So there is a maturing process that God works out in us to know that which He has freely given us. But we have this promise, that God will complete that which He began in us.

First there is natural birth, and we are born in Adam, dead spiritually. Even Adam was created out of the dust, created dead, until God breathed in him the breath of life. That same breath, the Holy Spirit of God, must be put back into man, everyone born in Adam, in order to have spiritual life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is the Author of Agape Love

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P39 (07-15-20)

Synopsis

As we think through this triplicate, of faith, hope and love, let us focus in on love. What really is love? We read that God is love but can we comprehend that? We would not even know what love is until God first demonstrated His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Someone might dare to die for a righteous man, but for a sinner (Romans 5:7)? That shows us that God’s love is not like our love. His love is unconditional, not dependent on what we do, but only on His character, of the one, Jesus Christ, who demonstrated His love to us. This is what, in the Greek language, is called Agape love.

The kind of love we are familiar with is called, in the Greek language, Phileo love. That is where we get the word philanthropy, giving to benefit the human race, or Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love. But these are really not the pure kind of love as Agape love is. Most of the kind of love we have is conditional love. “If you do this, I will do this for you”.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
