As you ponder the pages of scripture, relying on the Spirit to teach you, that is how you come to know what truth is.

But if you want to know what truth is, you first need to know who Jesus Christ is, not just about Him, but receive what He came to give. He came to give you the Holy Spirit, who He is, to come to live inside you. Who can understand the things of God, the things Jesus said that only He would know about since He came from heaven? And wherever you are right now, we all start out the same way, without the Spirit of God living in you. That is we are born dead spiritually and are in need of new life.

When you are reading the gospels, you are reading a record of the life of Christ while he was here on earth. What was his destiny? He came to die on the cross and give you and me eternal life in Himself. In order to do that, He had to prepare us and show us what our condition was. He had to show us we are sinners. If we do not see ourselves as sinners, what would the cross mean to me? He had to show us we are dead. If I did not know I was dead, why would I need life? Synopsis

In general, people call in because they want to know what truth, to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Some may be infants in Christ, and others may be believers for quite some time, but have been wandering around in erroneous teaching, and are just beginning to grab a hold of what truth is. Even topics as basic as Baptism and the Lord’s supper. Even those that rightly understand that baptism, that of water, does not save you, but is a ceremony, do not understand the Lord’ supper.

There are those who are genuinely confused over baptism, and that can vary depending on your religious upbringing. But, as you read scripture, it would become very clear to you. Both John the Baptist and Jesus clearly tell us about the fact that the water baptism that John performed was to be replaced by the spiritual baptism that Jesus alone accomplished for us, placing into the body of Christ the moment you, by faith, came to accept his death, burial and resurrection for you.

The Lord’s Supper, sadly, has been more perverted than anything else. Synopsis

As we read in Philippians, concerning the attitude in Christ Jesus, there are three basic attitudes that God wants to form in us, the attitudes of servitude, humility and dependency on the Father. When we come to Christ by faith in his death, burial and resurrection for us, we are on the starting line, where for the very first time the Spirit of God is placed in us. The mind of Christ is what we now have, to discern the things of God.

We need the mind of Christ so that our minds can be renewed with truth to replace the error of the world, the philosophies and the thinking of the world that has kept us in bondage and is contrary to the life God has given us. We are instructed to renew our minds with the new mind God has freely given us, to be able to walk in the new life. We have this option to participate in the divine nature. We are to have this attitude that if not for the grace of God, there go I.

Synopsis

We are to walk by faith in truth. We are to walk by faith in Christ, who gave his life for you so he could give his life to you so he could live his life in you and through you. Indeed, it is by faith in what Christ alone has done, by his death, burial and resurrection that we have become a child of God. As a child of God you have been given the choice to walk in the newness of life, to choose to participate in the divine nature, who lives in you. As a child of God, Christ lives in you. Everything that is a characteristic of God; compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, is in you. You do not have to go get compassion or pray for patience. You already have all of that, who is Christ Jesus, living in you. You access Him. He is already there, in you. You clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. You put it on.

Baptism and the Lords Supper

Synopsis

So often in our lives, we have been taught so many things that are just errors from denominational persuasions of men. Such pastors and other believers may be sincere and well meaning, but have not interpreted scripture correctly. But as you read through entire passages of scripture for yourself, allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you, you will begin to see truth that will set you free.

This is certainly true when it comes to teaching on the Lord’s supper. So many times, people are scared to death to even take the Lord’s supper for fear they have taken it in an unworthy manner, and therefore, will heap judgment on themselves. Oftentimes, people will introspect and even ask God to forgive them of their sins. This shows a huge lack of understanding on several fundamental truths, and how a misinterpretation of a passage of scripture has prevented thousands of people from celebrating the new covenant we are under today.
