Synopsis

As we think about the attitudes of love, we think about the attitude of Christ Jesus, who is God, and God is love. Again, Jesus did not come here so we can copy his actions. What He did is what God called Him to do. He did not call us to raise Lazarus from the dead, nor are we able to raise anyone from the dead. We are the ones who needed to be raised from the dead, and that is why Christ Jesus came to do what he did and that is how we know what love is.

What Jesus did was show us what it means to live as a man. We are meant to live by faith in the same way he did. We are to imitate his faith, the trust and total dependency on His Father. He emptied himself of his divine attributes, coming in appearance as a man, and although never ceasing to be God, as the second Adam, one with the Spirit of God in Him, did nothing of his own initiative but did exactly what he saw his Father doing and saying exactly what his Father told him to say and how to say it.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

So many people call in with questions they want answers to. Some wonder how we are meant to live the Christian life. Others wonder about end time events, like what has happened to Damasus. And in our world today, the end of the age certainly seems to be speedily coming toward the end. Time seems so short, like the rapture could occur within ten years. There are so many signs we see today, like Damascus being a heap of ruins, as prophesied by Isaiah.

But as curious as many people are toward end time events, the nagging questions people have about the meaning and purpose of life are still the same. It seems error seems to spread like wildfire and can never be quenched from being spread to the naive and those lacking discernment. The same errors are being propagated from generation to generation, from denominational persuasions of men and from the world. You still keep hearing the same questions. Is tithing for today? Why do pastors teach tithing? What is this strange teaching I hear about healing in the atonement? How can anyone find out what is true?

In this world, we will face all kinds of temptations, and we may even give into temptation. Such is the frailty of all mankind. There is not a person who has not sinned except Jesus Christ. He is not tempted by sin but was subjected to all the temptations we faced. But he was without sin. That is why we have a great and merciful high priest, who can identify with what we go through. He took away all the sins of the entire so that we can freely come to Him to receive life and grace in our time of need. You who are a child of God, humble yourself, trust the Lord to cause all things to happen for your good. Continue to walk in faith in the promises of God for you. If you should stumble or fall, get right back up, forget what lies behind, and go boldly to the throne of grace for help in time of need. Synopsis

It is so important to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. To worship God, you must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. If you have the Spirit of God living in you, you have truth living in you. Truth will not lead you to the pattern of this world. Truth will be transforming you by renewing your mind, not by altering it.

Much of psychology is about altering your mind. But Christ living in you is about changing attitudes of heart and thinking in the new way of the Spirit, in accordance with how God intended you to function, with Him living in you. Who would you rather go to for truth, God your creator, who knows how the mind works, or the psychologist, who most likely does not even know God and is relying on the thinking patterns of this world, and relying on his own understanding?

As a lost person, you cannot worship God because you do not have truth living in you. How can you worship someone you do not know? But when you are born again, you know God by the Spirit He has given you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

To the degree we grasp God’s love for us is the degree to which we can allow God’s love to be produced in us and through us into the lives of others. We are a conduit of God’s truth and grace, of His love in our hearts. As we receive from Him, that is what then spills over into the lives of others. We cannot produce this fruit of the Spirit. As we abide in Him, in the source of love, rely on Him, allow our minds to be renewed with truth, fruit of the Spirit is borne in our lives to the glory of God and the benefit of others.

Knowing this love of God is so vitally important. Until we know the love of God for us, we have nothing to pass on to others. For apart from Him we can do nothing. We were designed to be dependent on Him. God wants us to trust in Him, that He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Synopsis

We will always be learning how to trust in the love of God. As we allow ourselves to get to know God better through His word, error in our heads will be replaced with truth. So as we rely on, abide in Christ, the life of the vine, who is Christ, will produce in us and through us the fruit of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Like a branch, we cannot produce such fruit, but we can bear fruit, as we remain connected to the head, who is Christ. You are the church, you who are in Christ Jesus.

The Spirit testifies with our human spirit that we are children of God, by which we cry “Abba, or Daddy, Father.” That is our true identity, a child of God, not Baptist, or Presbyterian, or whatever label you put on yourself. Those are not identities God gave. Those are identities men give. Denominations may be teaching truth or they may be teaching error. How do you know?
