Is Jesus Your God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 44 (07-10-19)

As we have been studying through the gospel of John, it becomes more apparent what Jesus Christ came to accomplish on our behalf. In order for him to accomplish these things, we had to understand who he is, God. He first came to this earth to declare this. He came first of all to the Jews, who had their religion and traditions to lean upon on to explain this. He came to explain that it is not religion or tradition that saves you, but a person. He is not just a figure we study in the bible. Jesus is the one who came to save you. Sometimes we miss not only the reality of who he is, God, but where he is. The fact is that Jesus lives in us and he lives in us with the purpose to teach us truth. That truth will set us free.

John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

What are the enemies to truth? Lies. The opposite of truth are lies. Where do we get lies from? From the enemy of our souls, the one who did not come to proclaim truth, but to proclaim lies.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Understand What the Bible Means

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 43 (07-09-19)

Bob George continues where he left off in John 8. The Pharisees were unable to understand the language of Jesus. They had no room in their heart for truth. You either have the devil as your father or God as your Father. The devil’s desire is to steal, kill and destroy. The believer is set free from the clutches of the devil and is eternally saved. But the devil still speaks lies. He lies to us about our past, about our future, when we project such thoughts as if they are a reality today. So if you have resentment in your heart today, are you also worrying about tomorrow? Are you unable to let go of past resentments, hurts, insults or injuries? Is so, then you are believing a lie. Replace such error with the truth and the truth will indeed set you free. Let the words of Jesus renew you and set you free. Grab a hold of the truth and let His life be lived in you and through you. Many are trapped in emotional pain because they are dwelling on the past, projecting or fantasizing about the future. We live moment by moment.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Its All Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 42 (07-08-19)

Bob George shares the meaning of God’s word as truth has been revealed to him by the Spirit of God. Jesus spoke truth to men, the meaning of God’s word, but the religious did not understand. There was no room in their heart for truth. The religious Jews studied the scriptures, knew what the word of God said, and even memorized much of the Old Testament, but rejected truth when they heard it from Jesus. Why were they looking for a way to kill Jesus? No room for his word. These are religious people. There are people who know the word of God from beginning to end, and in many cases, had most of the Old Testament memorized. Jesus said to them , “You have no room for my word in your heart.”

When a person leans on their own understanding, then they do not listen to whatever anyone else says that is contrary to what they have been taught from their traditions and practices since their youth. If they have been taught by men, then what they have heard could very well be serious error, even to the eternal destruction of their soul!… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Came to Set You Free

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P452 (7-04-19)

Bob received calls from several callers who heard error. These are the questions asked. Can I be in and out of fellowship with God? Have I committed the unpardonable sin? What about a young child or the handicapped or those who have never heard the gospel of salvation?

Dale called for clarification of truth from a pastor who spoke error concerning a believer being in and out of fellowship with God. He had incorrectly taught from the parable of the prodigal son from Luke 15 to explain a false teaching of being in and out of fellowship with God. Luke 15 is not talking about a believer but an unsaved lost son who received righteousness by faith and faith alone and an older brother who failed to receive that righteousness by faith. It is really a parable about the self righteous Jew and the non-seeking Gentile who hears the message of Christ, believes and is saved.

Mark calls on behalf of his 8 year old daughter concerning about what happens when young children die. Bob shared that for young children or the mentally handicapped, we just trust in God, who is perfectly loving and just to make such decisions for those decisions are not ours to make.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

What is Salvation

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 41 (07-03-19)

Turn to the gospel of John.

Let us look at a passage of scripture so important to us that is so clear on what Jesus said in regards to salvation. Salvation is being saved from the consequences of sin, which is death, by the gift of God, which is the resurrected life of Jesus Christ. Mankind has all kinds of opinions on what salvation is. Are you saved by going to a certain denomination? No! By doing enough good or avoiding too much bad? No!

Do you lean on your understanding? We all have that tendency. Do you rely on what man has told you? Do you look at the DaVinci code, the philosophies of men or science for the answer to life? Where is your source of truth and is it reliable? Is it from men or from God and how would you know?

Man has the tendency to rely on his own understanding for truth, which is the same error in the garden of Eden. Adam chose to find out for himself what is right and wrong and what is good and evil. He told God he did not need Him for knowing good and evil, right and wrong.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation is Eternal Life in Jesus

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 39 (07-01-19)

Bob George continues sharing from the gospel of John. He shared about how the disciples waited in Galilee to receive the promised Holy Spirit. That day they were born again. When they received the Holy Spirit, they were changed men. Before they were once cowardly and fearful, hiding in a room fearing for their lives, and now they are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ boldly before men. There are those in the crowd who were drawn to hear the teachings of Jesus. So too was Nicodemus, a religious Pharisee. Unlike the other Pharisees, he wanted to know the will of God. Nicodemus had said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” The other Pharisees were like Communists or politicians of today, not wanting to hear truth, but just spin a story. They hated Jesus without reason. Jesus came full of grace and truth. This is very evident in John 8 in how he restores a woman caught in adultery. The Pharisees set her up in order try to trap Jesus in his words and see what Jesus would do.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
