The Humble Receive Grace

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 30 (06-05-19)

Bob George continues sharing truth from the book of John. He just shared about the reaction of the religious Jews about Jesus claims to be God. The proud of heart will not see God, but the humble will listen intently to his words unto eternal life. Jesus said, “You are looking at me and you are still not going to believe in me”. Your pride can be taken away by realizing that you cannot give yourself life and that you cannot take away your sins. You are ready for Jesus. If that is the case, then your coming to Christ is as close as a prayer. What happens in this day and age when we do not see him? We hear about Jesus today. Do all people respond? Who responds? The humble. The humble listen to his voice and call upon him for truth, as the Father draws him to all truth, the truth that brings salvation, eternal life, to the knowing of God intimately. Let the life of Christ live in and through you.

John 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is God I AM

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 29 (06-04-19)

Bob George teaches from John 6. Bob shares that the humble of heart are the ones the Father gives to Jesus, whom the Father draws and enables to be saved. The humble have come to the end of themselves, their philosophy, their religion, or their best efforts. Their circumstances, such a divorce or loss of income, and world view of life all came crashing down on them to lead them to the point of despair or frustration. They humbled themselves and said to God, “I can’t but you can”. Now they are ready to turn to Jesus for the answer to life, that Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life. But God resists the proud. The proud will not see God. The Father will not give the proud to Jesus for they will not trust him, they do not see their need of him and do not want Him. The proud is satisfied with their religion or tradition or insist that there are many ways to God. For the Father only gives to Jesus those who are humble of heart, for they are the ones ready to listen to Him so as to trust him to receive new life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Looks at Your Heart

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 28 (06-03-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the gospel of John. Currently, he is reading from John 6, picking up after where Jesus just fed five thousand men, not including women and children, on a few loaves of bread and two fish. This whole section here is the key to understanding who you are in Christ Jesus. As you read John 6, notice the response of the Jews. They did not seek to know God but only sought Jesus to have their bellies filled. Seek spiritual food that endures unto eternal life. Let us not seek the Holy Spirit, the Father or an experience but get to know Jesus, that He is God. Do not be proud of heart, but ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you. God look at the attitudes of your heart and not as man sees. He wants to give new life to you. Consider what Jesus is trying to reveal to man about himself, that he is dead and in need of life. That is why he came from heaven, for man to recognize his state of spiritual death and come to Christ for new spiritual food that endures to eternal life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Our Righteousness in Him

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P443 (5-24-19)

Julie called to ask if living with someone outside marriage is wrong. Bob said it is sin and explained the simple gospel message. She was making excuses for her behavior and Bob was firm with truth, extending grace, but firmly instructing her to make right choices. Chip called to simply thank Bob for his teaching on the finality of the cross, the reality of the resurrection and the New Covenant of grace. Chip had spent much time living in the flesh, being condemned when reading scriptures, until he was able to grasp such truth. Katie called, with great emotional pain, for her husband left her. Bob encouraged her and reminded her to think truthfully, take every thought captive, trust God for tomorrow and live day by day, continually giving thanks to God in all things. He further instructed her on living by the Spirit. Bob instructed her to trust the Lord to provide your needs, particularly unconditional love and acceptance, which you cannot receive from a spouse. Bob explained that the root cause of divorce is demanding such things from a spouse they cannot meet. Larry called for Bob to explain the seemingly disconnect between Romans 2:13 and Romans 3:20.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Are You a Professor or a Possessor of Jesus

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P442 (5-23-19)

Holley called to ask about Hebrews 6:4-6. She asked what it means to be partakers of the Holy Spirit. Bob explained the finality of the cross. The passage, in context, is directed to those who never repented of their unbelief in Jesus in the first place, going back to the day of atonement for the forgiveness of sins, making a mockery of the cross and insulting the Spirit of grace. Dominic asked about the meaning of Revelation 3:5. Is everyone in the book of life and then certain people blotted out? Bob explained that anyone who does not have life is not born again. So only those who have life, the Holy Spirit living them, is ever in the book of life. This passage is a terrific encouragement to believers on the assurance of salvation. Adam called to ask the meaning of the vine and the branches in John 15. Bob explained the meaning of this passage in context of those living under the Old Covenant, the Jews, and those of us today, living under a New Covenant, while explaining that Jesus lived under the old while explaining the new. Bob further explained what abiding means.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Spirit Gives Life

Classic Christianity – Our Attitude Towards Legalism Part 1 (03-25-19)

Bob George, who has been on the air for over 30 years on People to People radio, shares a message about the attitude of Christ toward legalism. As believers, who have the indwelling Holy Spirit, a person with the mind of Christ, what then should our attitude be toward legalism, toward the teaching and teachers of legalism? Legalists teach things of law to keep people under the bondage of law rather than the freedom under grace. You cannot mix law and grace. Under law, there is a punishment associated with law. Without a punishment, the law is worthless. But in Christ, we are no longer under the law but under grace. The punishment of our sins has already been paid in full. God set aside the law through Christ Jesus who fulfilled the entirety of the law. Now, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, God offers new life to men. That life is eternal life, the same Holy Spirit life that is in Christ Jesus. Those who believed the message of God’s grace in Christ Jesus are born again. When you were born again, the Holy Spirit was placed in you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
