John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but fear not [or be of good cheer] ; I have overcome the world.

It is not if you will have tribulation but when you will have tribulation. Each of us will face one or two or more tribulations. But rapture or death will come to all men. To many of us, death will come first. You will be absent from the Lord or separated from Him forever. If separated from God in death, then you will be in a place of eternal damnation along with Satan and his demons.

In this world you are going to have tribulation. Many people spend much time preparing for the things of this world. As you get older, there are those who prepare for retirement? Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 4 (04-08-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. He briefly shares from the gospel of Matthew to provide further information. John the Baptist came with an appeal to men to change your mind. So too is the same appeal for the hearts of men today concerning truth in regards to what you have been trusting for salvation. Are you depending on anything you can do to be in the presence of God? Then change your mind. All of Jesus and none of me. This is a personal decision between you and God. Do you believe what the bible says as revealed by Jesus Christ, the word of God? What does He want you to believe? Truth.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

You cannot say you are a believer in Christ and still go to a priest. You cannot say you are a believer in Christ and rededicate your life and commit to keeping short accounts with God. Bob answers questions from John, Rich, Mark and Ron, callers from four different states. John was calling to get advice, or rather for encouragement to do the right thing, in regards to what he had been doing in supporting his niece and her husband. They are unmarried and unbelievers living in sin, and now have three children. John has been enabling a bum and an irresponsible father and that must stop. John has been enabling them. Rich called to ask about how to really forgive someone who has wronged you and the associated feelings that go along with not being able to forgive someone. If Jesus is in you, and He is your life, and He has forgiven him then you forgive him. It is really the love of Jesus, being attached to Him, that any love and forgiveness from us is produced. And do let Satan mess you up with lies. Feelings respond to whatever thoughts you are pondering over. Bob receives calls from several people about asking for forgiveness. They are hearing from friends or those in church that say you need to ask God for forgiveness whenever you sin. Bob explains how this kind of thinking comes from denominational teaching and often from a misinterpretation of 1 John 1:9. Bob explains the false teaching of the Gnostic that were there at the time these scriptures were being written and that group, along with the Judaizers, is the group of unsaved people the Apostle John is initially talking to. In essence, John is saying: “If you ever come to your senses, and I doubt if you ever will, but just in case you do, Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, he is faithful and just to have forgiven you of your sins and to have cleansed you of all unrighteousness. Bob addresses how this is not even understood by many pastors today, where the message is in serious error when the message is about getting sins forgiven, a denial of the finished work of the cross. You do not confess sins to get forgiveness from God.
