Would it not be wise to encourage a new believer to read the word so that he has tools necessary so that no man will deceive him, and to know the nature and heart of God, to know what God has done for him and what he has in Christ?

Do people really understand what faith is? Is faith something you concentrate on for God to do something, that you could cause God to act? No, that would put you in the position of the initiator. We were born dead, and now as a born again believer, apart from Him we can do nothing. We are responders. We respond to what he has already done, and in what he has said and has already given. You have been given everything you need for life and godliness. That does not mean you live in independent from God.

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Adam chose to live independently of God, and that is how sin and death entered the world, and so all men died. Be Grace Sanctified

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P60 (03-25-20)

Synopsis

As believers, we are being sanctified even as we are sanctified. Sanctified means that you are set apart for the purpose God created you. God made you into a new creation, a child of God, with His Spirit living in you. We have the mind of Christ so in our thinking we are to think differently than the world, who knows not God nor has the Spirit. So we are already sanctified. We are to walk by faith in accordance with who you are, a child of God.

God also wants us to grow, to allow ourselves to become sanctified in this world we live in. God wants to renew your mind so you live in accordance with His good purposes for you. So we are to think soberly and guard our minds.

Romans 12:1-2
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Jesus is The Grace of God

Synopsis

We have much to be grateful for, for Jesus, the Jew, the born again Jew, and to the apostle Paul, a Jew, through whom we came to know the truth of the gospel and how to live in the new life God has given us. Paul provided much instruction to the believers in Christ so they may grow to maturity. He not only delighted in sharing the gospel with them, but his life with them as well.

Recall in Romans 8 how he shared about the proper functioning of the body of Christ, each individual with unique spiritual gifts from God, so the body may be encouraged and learn from each other, so they too may learn how to operate in that gift even if they were not specifically given that spiritual gift. It truly is more blessed to give than to receive.

So Paul delighted in being with other believers, and his heart attitude was so that we may be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith. He was not a lone ranger Christian. He asked for prayer, that he may boldly proclaim the gospel as clearly as he ought. Jesus is The Life

Paul addresses the attitudes of the heart in a believer, resulting in actions of love toward one another, the body of Christ. Christ Jesus is the head of the church and we are the body. As the body of Christ, we belong to one another, and should be acting in love for one another. When one part of the body hurts, we hurt with him. When one part of the body rejoices, we rejoice with him. We each are given spiritual gifts for building each other up; prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, and showing mercy. Even if one aspect is not our spiritual gift, we learn from one another, and become just as effective, as we observe how one another operates in their gift. In this way the body builds itself up in love as each part does its work. So let us look at these attitudes and actions of love; sincere in love, hating what is evil, clinging to what is good, being devoted to one another in love, honoring one another above ourselves, with spiritual fervor, serving the Lord, joyful always, praying continuously, giving thanks in all circumstances, helping those in need, and practicing hospitality.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

Often times people have called into the Classic Christianity radio program with questions to help them know how to apply teaching or to get clarification on teaching they have heard that seems to conflict with what the Lord is beginning to teach them. Others simply call to thank Bob for the teaching of truth that has helped them to walk free of legalistic teaching, and want to encourage Bob to continue teaching truth. More often than not, Bob will explain more thoroughly about the New Covenant we are under. Often times people will read something out of the gospels, such as Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, or the book of Acts, and struggle understanding what it means. The starting point to understand truth is to first of all be born again, having the Spirit of God living in you. Then as you read God’s word, you allow the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. The common mistakes people make are to read one scripture verse, taken out of its context, and try to explain or make up what it means.
