Jesus is The Grace of God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P59 (03-24-20)

Synopsis

We have much to be grateful for, for Jesus, the Jew, the born again Jew, and to the apostle Paul, a Jew, through whom we came to know the truth of the gospel and how to live in the new life God has given us. Paul provided much instruction to the believers in Christ so they may grow to maturity. He not only delighted in sharing the gospel with them, but his life with them as well.

Recall in Romans 8 how he shared about the proper functioning of the body of Christ, each individual with unique spiritual gifts from God, so the body may be encouraged and learn from each other, so they too may learn how to operate in that gift even if they were not specifically given that spiritual gift. It truly is more blessed to give than to receive.

So Paul delighted in being with other believers, and his heart attitude was so that we may be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith. He was not a lone ranger Christian. He asked for prayer, that he may boldly proclaim the gospel as clearly as he ought. He was commissioned by God as an apostle to the Gentiles, and he served in that capacity whole-heartedly.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is The Life

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P48 (02-26-20)

Paul addresses the attitudes of the heart in a believer, resulting in actions of love toward one another, the body of Christ. Christ Jesus is the head of the church and we are the body. As the body of Christ, we belong to one another, and should be acting in love for one another. When one part of the body hurts, we hurt with him. When one part of the body rejoices, we rejoice with him. We each are given spiritual gifts for building each other up; prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, and showing mercy. Even if one aspect is not our spiritual gift, we learn from one another, and become just as effective, as we observe how one another operates in their gift. In this way the body builds itself up in love as each part does its work. So let us look at these attitudes and actions of love; sincere in love, hating what is evil, clinging to what is good, being devoted to one another in love, honoring one another above ourselves, with spiritual fervor, serving the Lord, joyful always, praying continuously, giving thanks in all circumstances, helping those in need, and practicing hospitality.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Our Sabbath Rest Today
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P509 (02-06-20)

Synopsis

Often times people have called into the Classic Christianity radio program with questions to help them know how to apply teaching or to get clarification on teaching they have heard that seems to conflict with what the Lord is beginning to teach them. Others simply call to thank Bob for the teaching of truth that has helped them to walk free of legalistic teaching, and want to encourage Bob to continue teaching truth. More often than not, Bob will explain more thoroughly about the New Covenant we are under. Often times people will read something out of the gospels, such as Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, or the book of Acts, and struggle understanding what it means. The starting point to understand truth is to first of all be born again, having the Spirit of God living in you. Then as you read God’s word, you allow the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. The common mistakes people make are to read one scripture verse, taken out of its context, and try to explain or make up what it means. That is called leaning on your own understanding, and is the reason we have so many denominations today.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

God Judges On Truth

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P11 (11-12-19)

Synopsis

Follow along in Romans 2, and let the Lord teach you through his word. Let Him teach you about your condition of spiritual death. Let him teach you about misplaced dependency. Become born again and learn to depend on Christ. That is where obedience comes from. We love because he first loved us. Consider the fact that God created all there is, and he created you. He knows how you were designed to function. So let us ask Him how we are to live. To live is Christ and to die is gain. Let us learn what that means.

The best illustration of how God designed us to live is what Jesus taught us in John 15, about the vine and the branches. Jesus also demonstrated love, walked in love. He showed us, as a man born into this world, how man is to function. Jesus only did what he saw his Father doing. He did exactly what His Father told him to do and what His Father told him to say and how to say. He became obedient to death, death on a cross, for you and me. That was the will of the Father, for you and me.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Truth - Truth is Truth

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P9 (11-06-19)

Synopsis

In this world we live in, of political correctness, there is a strong pull to cave into the thinking of the world. You also have television that tries to convince you how fun something is. You have the soap operas and the commercials after big events such as the Super Bowl. All these influences that tempt us to not hold onto the knowledge of the truth. But we are instructed in scripture to hold onto truth.

So Bob shares truth from the scriptures. Currently we are studying Romans 1:28-32. This is what God says about these matters, of what perversion is, such as homosexual activity, and how it forms in the human heart.

We see someone who is caught in sin, a sin as devastating as homosexuality. Now, it is sin because that is what God calls it. God calls it perversion. Adultery is sin. Worry is sin. A Christian can be caught up in any sinful behavior, even the sin of homosexuality. All that it takes is to listen to the voice of Satan and give into a lie that this is something I have never done. You hear the deceiving voice, “Oh, what fun it might be”.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
