Do Not Call To Mind The Former Things From Our Past

~ “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing indeed: Forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13,14

~ “Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old. Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18,19

~ Forget about the former things of ourselves in the past. Do NOT dwell on the past circumstances, because you can’t change those things anyways, and it will just bring up feelings that God doesn’t want us dwelling on. God wants us to focus on Him and the Now, and be understanding of the calling He has set before us. Feed the Sheep With Truth ~ Be a Sharer of TRUTH

Jesus is praying here so that we hear and understand TRUTH ~ “Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world; and for them I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.” John 17:17-19

~ When people hear Truth today, it upsets them. For the Truth of the Word of God, is sharper than any two edged sword. It makes a person think. It cuts to the heart. And many times when people hear Truth it upsets them, because they are thrown all out of whack. Most people don’t like hearing Truth. They don’t like hearing that they are NOT righteous in and of themselves. They want to think that they are basically good people. We hear that many times over our lifetimes, that such and such is basically a good person. Or people will say, “look for the good in people,” as though self-righteousness is to be promoted in themselves and others. Everything is Permissible, Not Everything is Profitable

~ “Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29

When a person is in Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is thus living in them, there is something to be said for being a straight talker, but not for blurting out profanity laced speech. And we all know what is considered to be unwholesome talk, without having to define it. And the Holy Spirit will point that out to the person also. And it depends on the language used too. German unwholesome talk would not have any significance to the hearer if they only knew English. With that being said, how much sense does it make to spend your day cussing up a storm in whatever language, and then say that you are a child of God to those around you? Is it permissible to do that? Sure. Is it profitable to the body of Christ, or those that are hearing about the gospel from this person? Of course not.

Only What is of Faith in Jesus

Without Faith, it is Impossible to Please God

~ Many people came to Jesus thinking they were getting their sins forgiven. It’s placing the wrong emphasis on themselves (and asking for forgiveness of God) instead of placing trust in Jesus and what he did on the cross for them. They don’t understand that they were physically born forgiven by God, but in need of life through the Holy Spirit coming to live in them when they place faith in Jesus. So what happens many times, is a person thinks in their mind that something is a sin (whether it really is or not), but they think it is a sin, that God is somehow up there with a clipboard keeping track of everyone’s sins and is going to cause them to lose their salvation. Yet even there, they don’t understand that salvation is Eternal life. Once a person has the Holy Spirit living in them, there is nothing that can kick out the Holy Spirit. They have the Holy Spirit forever for eternal life. Our faith needs to be in Jesus, NOT ourselves.

Natural Man CanNOT Understand The Things Of God, It Must Be Revealed By His Spirit

~ In the last days, we are told that knowledge shall increase. And to understand that knowledge (All Knowledge) requires the Holy Spirit. Bob continually reminded us that we are to listen to the teachings of the Holy Spirit, and not men, for man can be teaching us wrong and be in error without even realizing it, even if the intentions were good. This goes for everyone. For many know what the word of God says, but few know what it means. We are told the Spirit would guide us into ALL truth, not just some Truth.

God Reconciled ALL things to Himself Through Christ Jesus ~ We Are Saved by The Life of Jesus, Not His Death

When a person becomes born again of the Holy Spirit of God, by faith in Jesus, God in the flesh and what He did on the cross for you personally, having completely forgiven you, the Holy Spirit baptizes (places you into) you into the body of Christ. You are now a new creature in Christ Jesus.
