Synopsis

As you read the scriptures, there are some passages you find that are just difficult to understand, particularly passages in Ezekiel and Revelation. In such cases, all you can say is, “I do not know”, and that is okay. There are those things, like in Ezekiel, that can be considered interpretive speculation as to what they represent. Unless it is spelled out in detail that this is what it represents, it is just speculation. It is best to just hold onto those passages that are clear, that you know is true.

The most important message to understand from the scriptures, and the scriptures are very clear on this, is the gospel, the message of good news that Jesus tells us in order to enter heaven. I would not advise asking someone whether they believe in heaven or hell, but rather ask them if you ever discovered knowing Christ in a personal way. That is what they really need to be able to come to have an answer from the scriptures.

As we grow in Christ, we all have our struggles, our battles with temptations of the flesh. That can be unique to each individual, what seems to be more prone to you, your weakness. Sometimes we give into our flesh, but we must remind ourselves that we do not have to. We are instructed to rejoice in our weakness so that the power of Christ might rest on us. That is what walking by faith is, walking in what God says is true about you and His provision of life or you. If you are a child of God, then you are being internally led by the Spirit of God, who lives in you. As a child of God, He has given you everything you need for life and godliness through Him who lives in you.

Many times callers call into the Classic Christianity radio to get answers to common questions, get clarifications or Bob’s thoughts on things they have heard from others, things that just does not sound right or the practical application of living in the new life you have in Christ Jesus. Many times, when you have a basic foundation in truth, these questions can easily be answered. The real question is, “Do we want to get well?” That is why it is so good to hear people call in with their questions, for this is an avenue in which the body of Christ can be built up and grow. Others call to receive advice to deal with circumstances in their life that they do not know how to resolve. That is why we are placed in the body of Christ, to help and encourage one another. Several callers ask Bob questions pertaining to things they have heard out in the world today, and not just the secular world but the Christian world. Bobby called to comment on how sad it is when so many people listen to false teachers, like the Kenneth Copeland‘s. Bob commented that the real issue is where are people going to spend eternity. False teachers have just enough truth to draw people in to listen but intermixed with so much garbage that messes them up for the rest of their life.
