Synopsis

Common questions keep being asked generation after generation. It seems the same old deception and misinformation, by even well-meaning denominational persuasions of men, gets passed on, and has to be addressed every generation. You will hear people say in the charismatic churches, for example, about the need to receive a second baptism of the Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. How would you answer that?

How well do you know God and His Word that you could explain why that cannot be true? We are in the end times, and we have been since Jesus rose from the dead, and He told us to not let any man deceive you. Yet people are so accustomed to readily believe whatever a pastor, such as from a denominational persuasion they identify with, says as true. Few people seem to get into the word of God for themselves. Recall what the apostle Paul remarked concerning the people of Berea. They diligently studied the scriptures to see if what even the apostle Paul said was so. Paul commended them as being more noble than all the rest. We should do likewise.

Synopsis

Have you ever got into a conversation trying to persuade someone on what truth on a matter is? But they are not understanding or their mind is made up. It is one thing to disagree on certain trivial or non-consequential matters, and certain things are not as clear without more or sufficient information to draw conclusions. But when God has made something clear to you, that has been revealed to you through the scriptures on what Christ Jesus accomplished on the cross for you, it is heart-breaking when you share such truth on such a critical subject of life and death, and the person is blind or hard of heart and cannot see!

It is also heartbreaking when you see those leaders whom you trusted and respected, who were even influential in your early years in coming to Christ, have gone astray or have fallen into a serious sin, maybe even as a pastor, where much more is expected from them. That can lead to anguish and soul-searching in many hearts as to questioning what truth is, or what church is, of trust and fellowship is. Synopsis

Often times, in modern Christianity today, you will hear the comingling of law and grace, with much teaching about obedience to the law, teaching things out of the old testament or from the gospels, such as Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, out of context, and trying to make it apply to us today. For example, you might hear a pastor say, quoting from the words of Jesus, who was teaching the Jews, people who were still under the law, since Jesus had not gone to the cross yet, that if you do not forgive someone else their sins then neither will God forgive you, and use that to put people on a guilt trip, or under some sort of unfounded fear. Sadly, pastors are supposed to be ministers of a new covenant, but either are not born again themselves, or have not grown in their own understanding of the most basic foundation, that God has called them to be a minister of the new covenant, yet they have not learned anything about the new covenant they are supposed to be a minister of. Synopsis

It seems in today’s church world or religious world, people do not know what it means to rest. It seems people are either working for their salvation, which is an impossibility, or are trying to double up their efforts in the church to be certain they are pleasing to God. The first question to be asked is, “Do you know what salvation is?” That is where you start. Do you know the totality of the cross, what is accomplished for you and me? Do you know the meaning of the resurrection? Do you know if you are made complete in Christ, being made a child of God, with a new identity, with the Spirit of God living in you? Have you entered the Sabbath rest as spoken about in Hebrews?

And as you come to Christ, realize that you still have sin-indwelling flesh. You are not going to perfect your flesh, or make it better. No, you overcome your flesh by the Spirit, by loving one another. But love is not something you conjure up. Jesus is God and True to His Promises

Synopsis

Sometimes we can get off focus on what is really important in life, what God has called us to do in regard to being fishers of men, to reach out with love and truth for the souls of men. We can spend endless hours trying to figure out end time prophecies, and as interesting as that might be, the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Yes, we should read Revelation and not avoid it, but everything in proper perspective. God’s word certainly tells us that anyone who reads the words of the prophecy and takes it to heart what is written in it is blessed. So He certainly wants us to read it with that in mind. God wants us prepared but not scared.

Then there is our neighbor or relative who does not know Christ. If you got a call from a friend, who at one time in his life rejected God, or even mocked the things of God, but all of a sudden there is a change in attitude in him. He is being drawn by the Spirit of God, expressing to you an emptiness he is feeling in his life, and how he has been recently listening to things of scripture and is beginning to wonder if he should accept Christ into his heart.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Makes us Into New Creations

Synopsis

As a new believer, you will tend to have more of a struggle in overcoming sinful habits, and that is not unusual, as you are just now on the starting line of having your mind renewed. Even as you mature in Christ, you will continue in that process of having your mind renewed until the day we meet the Lord. We will all continue to battle the flesh, and God knows our weaknesses and tendencies. We are all reminded to guard our life and doctrine closely and take heed that we do not fall, and to be gentle and humble toward others, as we ourselves could easily get caught up in any sin ourselves. Sometimes we just need that person who can point us to that unconditional love and acceptance from God. And along with allowing God to do that through us, we are firm with truth while gently guiding the humble of heart to grab a hold of such truth that will set them free. We can learn to walk in the new life of freedom God has called us to.
