Synopsis

All of us need encouragement in this fallen world we live in. As Jesus warned us so many times, let no man deceive you. All of us have been deceived one time or another and are all subject to deception. Many of us grew up in some denomination that taught legalism and all sorts of error, or cults even, saying you have to belong to my church to be saved, and some of us came to the knowledge of the truth. We came to realize God’s word is truth, and anything contrary to that is to be rejected as from men. Not all men are deliberately deceiving you. Many are simply passing on what they heard from others.

How grateful we are for those many people, the born again believers all over the world, who have understood God’s grace, and spread that message of grace so we heard the message of truth and came to believe. The true grace teachers will teach the totality of the cross, of being made complete in Christ and salvation through receiving new life through the resurrection of Christ Jesus, who has offered all men the Holy Spirit to be placed in those who believe.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

Faith is one of those words used or heard but do we know what it means? Hebrews 11 defines faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This “hope for” is not a “hope so”, but a firm trust in what God has guaranteed us in His Son. We put our trust in what God accomplished for us in Christ Jesus, in what his death, burial and resurrection accomplished for us.

But not everyone has heard or understood what Jesus accomplished for us. You can know that Jesus is God, and that he lived, died and did certain marvelous things, but you have not put your faith in what He has given you, which is eternal life. I once was asked, “Would you like to be saved?”. I had never heard such a strange question before. “Saved from what?” I knew about Jesus dying on a cross. You see a picture of that in the church I grew up in all the time. And I knew something about Jesus rising from the dead. Synopsis

It seems the message of the gospel, of proclaiming truth in Christ Jesus, has to be continually told because there are always new people born into this world, dead spiritually, and who are being raised by the same training centers that never get set aside or never stop speaking error, for they hold onto error, for they have never heard the truth themselves, or stopped to test all things with the word of God. Seminaries continue to put out the same teaching year after year.

And if that is not bad enough, more error gets added, more infiltrators get into those teaching centers called the modern church, and instead of teaching truth, they teach error, law mixed with grace at best. But whether it is speaking in tongues or tithes for today, error continues on. Then new errors get added it seems, if not spiritual formation, then critical race theory, or something else. It seems the battle for the souls of men gets harder day by day, as truth is being suppressed, not just by the church-house, which is heart-breaking itself, but by those in power and authority over us, by the government and social culture also.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

To grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is important that we do not rely on what a denominational persuasion says, whether Baptist, Catholic, or Presbyterian, or whatever else it might be. Nor should we rely on what the early church fathers said, what Polycarp, John Wesley or Martin Luther said. Nor do we blindly rely on People to People or whatever common ministry is out there today. If what someone says is in agreement with truth as revealed by the Spirit of God through the word of God, then certainly hold onto such truth, for that is revealed by the Spirit of God, who does not lie.

Ultimately, we need to study the word of God for ourselves, as Paul commended the people of Berea for doing, for they diligently studied the scriptures to see if what he said was so, and they only had the Old Testament scriptures available to them in their day. Now that the gift of prophecy has been given to the prophets as well as the apostles, and the divine revelation from God to men has been written down, by eyewitnesses of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the canon is closed.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

People in all backgrounds are looking for purpose and meaning in life, whether you were brought up in a religious background or were in the habit of rejecting God, calling yourself an atheist. But there comes a time where you realize that this yearning in your heart for acceptance and love is not working. In that process, you hear a message about Christ or you pick up a bible and start reading. There you learn that Christ is the answer all along.

As you are getting your mind renewed, you may be confused for a while, because, if you came from a religious background, you are beginning to wonder about what you had been taught. Things just do not make sense. A pastor commits adultery. That in itself is alarming to you, when he is supposed to be a believer, and believers are not supposed to do that,and certainly not a pastor, whom you are relying on. Another pastor is preaching about tithing. And you are not even sure if that is what you are supposed to be doing or not. The church you grew up in never mentioned tithing. Synopsis

Have you ever got into a conversation trying to persuade someone on what truth on a matter is? But they are not understanding or their mind is made up. It is one thing to disagree on certain trivial or non-consequential matters, and certain things are not as clear without more or sufficient information to draw conclusions. But when God has made something clear to you, that has been revealed to you through the scriptures on what Christ Jesus accomplished on the cross for you, it is heart-breaking when you share such truth on such a critical subject of life and death, and the person is blind or hard of heart and cannot see!

It is also heartbreaking when you see those leaders whom you trusted and respected, who were even influential in your early years in coming to Christ, have gone astray or have fallen into a serious sin, maybe even as a pastor, where much more is expected from them. That can lead to anguish and soul-searching in many hearts as to questioning what truth is, or what church is, of trust and fellowship is.
