Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P4 (10-28-19)

Synopsis

Bob George continues sharing from the book of Romans. Bob beings by providing a background of the culture of Rome, a booming city, a place to be in that time in history, with art, literature, mighty army, the greatest nation on the earth at that time, but also a city filled with pagan idolatry and emperor worship.

Bob then spent most of his time on one verse, Romans 1:17. Bob explains the meaning of common terms, such as gospel and salvation. What is the gospel? What is the power of the gospel? Paul went to Rome to proclaim the gospel. Bob explains that the gospel went first to the Jew and then the Gentile. So the gospel is for everyone, not just for the Jew. That was a new concept in those early days, after Jesus rose from the dead. Bob explains that there are only three groups of people; Jews, Gentiles, and the Ecclesia, the body of Christ, the born again, made up of Jews and Gentiles. This could really be divided into two groups, the lost and the saved. Faith in Jesus Sets You Apart in Him

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P3 (10-23-19)

Synopsis

Bob George is sharing from the book of Romans. He shares again that Paul is an ambassador for Christ, appointed by God to bring the gospel, the message of good news, of life in Christ Jesus, to Jews and Gentiles alike. Then he continues to share from Romans, starting at verse 7.

Bob shares how designations get assigned to people. There are designations that God gives to people. God gave the designation of apostle to Paul. God gave the designation of saint to all who are in Christ Jesus. And all of us who are in Christ Jesus are ambassadors. Then there is a designation that religion and false thinking puts on you. Religion puts burdens on you, telling you to burn out for Jesus.

In the world of Christendom, what kind of designations have you believed to be true? Are you just an old sinner saved by grace? First of all, do you understand the gospel of Jesus Christ that Paul is proclaiming? Have you believed and understood the message of grace in Christ Jesus? Are you born again?

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P2 (10-22-19)

Synopsis

Bob George now starts in the book of Romans, after providing some introductory background on the life of Paul. Through just the first seven verses of Romans, Bob explains the meaning of words, such as sin, forgiveness, sanctified (set apart), slave, ambassador, saint, truth, gospel, obedience and faith, that we often take for granted, and such words are often not properly understood. The Greek language provides a more precise rendering that helps our understanding in some cases.

The gospel is the message of good news of Jesus Christ and Paul is called as an ambassador of Jesus Christ to bring this good news and explain it to the Gentile world. Ambassador is not a short term function he is assigned to do. He is called as an ambassador, as an identification or designation. It is like the word forgiveness. It not something we get but something we already have. An ambassador for God is one who represents God in a foreign country, the place on earth, to proclaim truth.

Now truth to be truth, truth must be universal, for all people, for all times and for all places. The prosperity gospel is not truth because you cannot share that to both an impoverished city and also to a wealthy city.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Synopsis

The first caller, Anne, wanted to thank Bob for how he encouraged the previous caller, a man who was dying from cancer, to not make decisions based on fear and not to let the doctors or medical staff put fear in you. She had asked Bob if people should at least go more to the Lord instead of the medical profession or even pastors?

Bob and Anne both shared from personal experiences how much fear hospital staff and doctors put in you if you let them. Doctors will insist that if you do not do this or that procedure that you will have these consequences, that if you do not have open heart surgery that you will go into cardiac arrest. Te main point is that you do not let them drive your decision-making based on fear. You lean on the Lord for wisdom and understanding for the decisions you make.

Bob was in agreement with Anne on this matter. Both Anne and Bob shared much heart-breaking experiences of friends or relatives with cancer. A man dies much sooner than expected, and that even from something next to nothing, or a man suffers greater loss of quality of life by following the doctor’s advice, who often expresses the situation with fear, than if he just let the disease takes it course.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

God is Not Counting Your Sins Against You

Synopsis

The first caller, Hans, with understandably great emotion with weighty decisions to make. He shared that he is dying of melanoma cancer that has invaded much of his body already, including his brain. He had concerns about losing a relationship with God because of potential damage to his brain. Bob assured him that his relationship with God will always be there. You will never cease to be a child of God. You might not be able to pray to Him, but you are in His hands. He was also wanting advice on further treatments to take. Bob could not answer that for him, but for him to ask God for wisdom. God gives wisdom to all who ask without partiality. But he offered what he personally would want to know. If the cancer has invaded most of his body and that no amount of treatment will get rid of it, then the decision, to Bob, would be one of quality of life versus quantity of life. He would personally refuse continued treatment, if he had definitive information from the doctor on the matter. Bob George was on the air for over 30 years with People to People radio, answering calls to help people experience faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ. This particular radio show has a number of calls in regards to salvation. We highly encourage you to listen to it.

The first caller, Clarence asks a couple of questions. One question is, how can there be all these ministers that are preachers of the gospel, yet they don’t believe in Jesus, God in the flesh? The other question is in regards to as why Bob called out a well known dominiate pastor in regards to something that is being taught?

Another caller, Marie, asks and wants to argue about eternal security and eternal salvation.

Another caller, Charles asks, “what is blasphemy?”

Another caller, Mark asks, “can a person lose their salvation?”

And then the final caller, Elizabeth asks and alludes to a variety of questions in regards to those that endure to the end shall be saved.
