Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P548 (06-26-20)

Synopsis

Today’s callers asked for help in regard to marriage issues and even about how to quit smoking. A lady called on behalf of her older sister who is seeing another man. Another person asked for clarification on a passage of scripture in regards to a passage in regard to adultery and marriage in Matthew 18:8-10. A person called about clarification on a passage of scripture, in Colossians 1:21-23, that seemed to indicate you could lose your salvation, even though he knows you cannot. Then there was this question that you still her quite often today, “Is a Catholic a Christian?”

Many of the questions these callers asked can easily be answered when, first of all you have the Spirit of God living in you, and you know the difference between the old covenant of sin and death, before the cross, and the new covenant of grace, after the cross, that we are under today. So when Jesus is saying things in the gospel of Mathew, Mark, Luke or John, he is saying things to people living under an old covenant, and the new has not yet come.

Another common way people struggle in interpretation is in translation into English, particularly on the word, “if ”.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P546 (06-19-20)

Synopsis

Life can certainly be frustrating. You are a believer and want to provide a better home for your family, and you find life difficult and you wonder how to live this life. You lose heart. Or you are a believer and you know your family is lost as ever. They have not understood the gospel and they do not even want to listen to the truth on such an important message. Whenever a topic comes up, they just stay clear of it. And your heart breaks for your family. Or you are a believer but you are married to a spouse who has gotten caught up in sinful behavior, such as a drug addiction or addicted to pornography. Several callers called on this program for help in how to deal with these life struggles and wanted wisdom in what to do.

There is always hope in Jesus Christ. We all know what sin is like, for we can all identify with Paul who said, “I do not understand myself. The things I hate to do I do and the things I do not want to do I do anyhow. What a wretched man I am.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Spirit of Peace

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P529 (04-23-20)

Synopsis

The first caller, Anne, wanted to thank Bob for how he encouraged the previous caller, a man who was dying from cancer, to not make decisions based on fear and not to let the doctors or medical staff put fear in you. She had asked Bob if people should at least go more to the Lord instead of the medical profession or even pastors?

Bob and Anne both shared from personal experiences how much fear hospital staff and doctors put in you if you let them. Doctors will insist that if you do not do this or that procedure that you will have these consequences, that if you do not have open heart surgery that you will go into cardiac arrest. Te main point is that you do not let them drive your decision-making based on fear. You lean on the Lord for wisdom and understanding for the decisions you make.

Bob was in agreement with Anne on this matter. Both Anne and Bob shared much heart-breaking experiences of friends or relatives with cancer. A man dies much sooner than expected, and that even from something next to nothing, or a man suffers greater loss of quality of life by following the doctor’s advice, who often expresses the situation with fear, than if he just let the disease takes it course.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Place Faith in Jesus Only

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P66 (04-08-20)

Synopsis

As we close in the last chapter of Romans, Paul writes a warning to us to be on guard against false prophets, against those who use flattery to draw disciples away after them, who claim to have special knowledge, of those who deny the humanity and deity of Christ. The false prophets today are the prosperity gospel teachers who teach godliness as a means to financial gain. The other false teachers are those who preach the tithe as a means to be blessed of God. We have the words of Jesus issuing the same warning, telling us ahead of time about this spirit of the anti-Christ that is already in the world. You have those anti-Christ religions, such as the Jehovah Witnesses, who deny Jesus is God, that you should stay away from. We have the writings of the apostle John, writings to help a pastor protect the people of God from the false prophets, the Gnostics in their midst, bringing destructive heresies. We have the words of Timothy and the apostles, warning us again and again to be on guard. Do not listen to those false prophets. Stay away from them.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Don't Set Aside The Grace of God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P62 (03-31-20)

Synopsis

As you read about the conversion of Paul in Damascus, of his former way of life, and how he met the risen Lord, and how devoted he was to get the message of the good news out, what does that compel us to do? As you read along in Romans 15 and Acts 20-21, you realize that Paul, in so doing, met all kinds of trials and tribulations, and many times just one blow away from death, yet he was not dissuaded to proclaim this gospel. Listen along with the audio, as Bob George shares the heart of Paul and his devotion to Christ.

How devoted are we to share this message of good news, of life in Christ Jesus? If you are in Christ Jesus, knowing that when you die, you will be absent from the body and present with the Lord, and that those who are not yet in Christ, are headed to a place called hell, that if they were to die tonight, they will be forever separated from God where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:12, 13:42,50; 22:13, 24:51, 25:30), where the fire never goes out (Mark 9:43), what kind of urgency do you have to reach out to as many people as possible, to give them the gospel of eternal life?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Bob George Quotes 9
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P517 (03-05-20)

Synopsis

Listen today as Bob addresses the common questions that are still asked today. The practical issues people struggle with today are answered with the message of the totality of the cross, of being made complete in Christ by believing the complete message of the gospel. There are questions that people in church ask, such as what about the unpardonable sin or falling away after hearing truth, as in an improper understanding of Hebrews, where people think they can lose salvation. There are questions asked, even church-going people, such as whether premarital sex is sin. There are questions people ask about the second coming of Christ, but are getting tripped up over simple things they have heard that are simply not true. People have either not come to Christ in the first place or have not grown in the Lord. Why is that? They do not take the time to allow the Holy Spirit to teach them truth through His word. The only way truth is revealed to men is through the Holy Spirit. Those without the Holy Spirit cannot discern the things of God. Sadly, many people are hearing a half gospel.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
