Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P532 (05-01-20)

Synopsis

Listen to Bob answer some common questions people ask still today. Why do I get angry? Is anger a sin? How do I deal with anger? Then you have questions about the Mormons who come knocking on your door. What do they believe? Should I listen to them? Should I let them in? What about Islam and Judaism? Do they worship the same God as Christians?

First of all, anger is a secondary response to fear. It is normal to the human experience, and yes it is sin. So is impatience and not being kind, and anything that is not love, as defined in 1 Corinthians 13. So what Jesus is really getting us to realize and to look at is the attitudes of our heart. He wants us to come to him by faith and to continue walking by faith. Know that there is no condemnation for you, who are in Christ Jesus. Learn to abide in Him, to walk in the Spirit, as Jesus explained to us in the parable of the vine and the branches (John 15). We will still fail at times, for that is so natural to us in our weakened flesh, in our weakened state.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith is Believing What Jesus Has Done

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P531 (04-30-20)

Synopsis

Many times people called on the Classic Christianity radio program to get clarification and understanding. One of the most common things people call in about is that they are confused about this deal on forgiveness of sins. When you sin, are you supposed to confess those sins to God and ask for forgiveness? What is sin? Are there different categories of sin, such as positional and what about the future sins I do? These questions reveal a serious lack of understanding of something so vitally important as to what salvation is.

Listen as Bob converses with Martha in answering such questions, explaining to her what Jesus already accomplished, that his death took away the sins of the entire world. Jesus entered into our death with us, so we can enter into His resurrected life with Him. Jesus death on a cross is preparation for life to be given, and it is not faith to ask God to forgive you of sins for that is something God already did. When He sent Jesus to shed His blood on a cross, that was only done once and will not be done again, and that took away, forever, the sins of the entire world from the eyes of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Holy Spirit Will Lead You in All Truth

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P6 (04-29-20)

Synopsis

Do people really understand what faith is? Is faith something you concentrate on for God to do something, that you could cause God to act? No, that would put you in the position of the initiator. We were born dead, and now as a born again believer, apart from Him we can do nothing. We are responders. We respond to what he has already done, and in what he has said and has already given. You have been given everything you need for life and godliness. That does not mean you live in independent from God.

2 Peter 1:3
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Adam chose to live independently of God, and that is how sin and death entered the world, and so all men died. Now, as a child of God, a new creation, we learn to walk in dependency upon someone who loves us perfectly, in the one who created us and knows how we were meant to function, with the Holy Spirit of God living in us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith Hope and Love in Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P5 (04-28-20)

Synopsis

I heard on social media, where a person asked these sincere and honest questions. “I am often uncertain about what to say, when the great commission comes up in conversation. Do we all do street preaching? I hardly ever do that. (Been sometime since the last, a year! ) Is one to one witness whenever I can, enough? Is trying to show what Jesus preached in how I live, not part of it? Are we all missionaries? I was sent to mainland China but again, that was long ago. I do feel inadequate, at times. So when we talk of the great commission – what do you actually do?”

As I was thinking how to answer his questions, this is what God put on my heart to write. I think of this faith, hope and love that are ours in Christ Jesus, as God initiated that love to us first in Christ Jesus, whom he sent to this world so we might visually see what a person filled with the Holy Spirit looks like. That way when I see His righteousness in light of my own unrighteousness, I might ask for His.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is The Light of Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P4 (04-27-20)

Synopsis

Turn to 1 Thessalonians 5:4-11, Ephesians 6, and Galatians 5:5-6. We are going to learn more about this faith, hope and love. We will see this connection of faith to putting on the full armor of God in Ephesians 6, so we can stand against the powers of darkness, of evil forces, in heavenly places. Much of what the apostle Paul lists is defensive armor, which we put on so we can stand, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the feet shodded with the gospel of peace, and other spiritual truth Paul illustrates with the armor on a Roman soldier.

Since as children of God, we are no longer in darkness, and can see more clearly, not with physical eyes, but with spiritual eyes, and in truth. For the Holy Spirit is living in us, guiding us into all truth. Truth is what we stand on, the very words that proceed from the mouth of God. The truth revealed to us through the scriptures we hold in our hands is powerful to take down strongholds. So, the word of God is the sword of the Spirit, the one offensive weapon we are to hold in our hands, the word of truth.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Live by Truth and Respond With Faith

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P530 (04-24-20)

Synopsis

The first caller, Hans, with understandably great emotion with weighty decisions to make. He shared that he is dying of melanoma cancer that has invaded much of his body already, including his brain. He had concerns about losing a relationship with God because of potential damage to his brain. Bob assured him that his relationship with God will always be there. You will never cease to be a child of God. You might not be able to pray to Him, but you are in His hands. He was also wanting advice on further treatments to take. Bob could not answer that for him, but for him to ask God for wisdom. God gives wisdom to all who ask without partiality. But he offered what he personally would want to know. If the cancer has invaded most of his body and that no amount of treatment will get rid of it, then the decision, to Bob, would be one of quality of life versus quantity of life. He would personally refuse continued treatment, if he had definitive information from the doctor on the matter. Other considerations is the financial burden on the wife.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
