Spirit of Peace

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P529 (04-23-20)

Synopsis

The first caller, Anne, wanted to thank Bob for how he encouraged the previous caller, a man who was dying from cancer, to not make decisions based on fear and not to let the doctors or medical staff put fear in you. She had asked Bob if people should at least go more to the Lord instead of the medical profession or even pastors?

Bob and Anne both shared from personal experiences how much fear hospital staff and doctors put in you if you let them. Doctors will insist that if you do not do this or that procedure that you will have these consequences, that if you do not have open heart surgery that you will go into cardiac arrest. Te main point is that you do not let them drive your decision-making based on fear. You lean on the Lord for wisdom and understanding for the decisions you make.

Bob was in agreement with Anne on this matter. Both Anne and Bob shared much heart-breaking experiences of friends or relatives with cancer. A man dies much sooner than expected, and that even from something next to nothing, or a man suffers greater loss of quality of life by following the doctor’s advice, who often expresses the situation with fear, than if he just let the disease takes it course.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Having Faith Hope and Love

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P3 (04-22-20)

Synopsis

This faith, hope and love is the triplicate that sticks together like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit of the Trinity. Indeed, Christ Jesus is our only hope, who initiated this love to us so that we can enter this blessed hope in which we now stand. We enter in by faith. The same faith that we exercise so that Christ Jesus came to dwell in us by His Spirit is the same faith in which we live day to day. Christ in you is your only hope of glory. That same faith that you had exercised to be transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light is the same faith God wants us to exercise every day. Several passages of scripture makes this clear. Colossians 2:6-7 and Philippians 2:12-13 are examples. Faith in Him produces His work in and through you and me. We, as a branch, are bearing the fruit of that life, but we, as a branch, have a function in that life. It is to be available for the work of the Lord that has been worked in us to work out of us.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith is a Responder to the Grace of God

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P2 (04-21-20)

Synopsis

So these three remain; faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. Although we cannot produce love, in Christ we have been given the privilege to participate in the divine nature. We participate in the divine nature by abiding in Christ, trusting him to do through us what we could never do, as Jesus explained to us in John 15. So this love is to reach out to people, to share the message of Christ, to serve in the spiritual gifts God has given us, to serve the body, to give a cup of water in the name of Christ, and any of those things God has led us to do by the Spirit He has given us.

We have been made a new creation in Christ, so this labor is prompted by the love of God that has been poured into our hearts, imploring every man to be made complete in Christ. We have this hope in us, this promise of God, that when we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord. This life is temporary, so our eyes are fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P1 (04-20-20)

Synopsis

Listen as Bob George shares a message on faith, hope and love. Have you ever noticed that whenever you read about love, you will see it together with faith and hope. Just like the Trinity, Father, Son and holy Spirit, it is there as a triplicate. What comes to mind when you think about love? Is it something we can produce in the energy of our flesh? No. Why do you suppose faith and hope in Christ Jesus is so vital to even love one another as Christ loved you? We love because He first loved us.

God is the initiator. We are the responder. He initiated His love to us when He sent His Son to do something for us that we could not even do for ourselves. We were born spiritually dead, without hope and without the love of God in our hearts. Have you ever noticed that a dead person cannot raise himself from the dead? That is how we were born. How then are we to respond?

Did you know that sin is what caused our death? As long as we are under the law of sin and death, that whenever you should sin again, you shall die.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Jesus His Final Hours P5 (04-17-20)

Synopsis

Your Sins Are Forgiven!

As you read or listen about the details of his death and his resurrection, of Mary at the tomb, of the garden there watered by a natural spring, of a large stone over the entrance, guarded by Roman soldiers, of sixty pounds of material placed on the body of Jesus, and then the stone was rolled away all by itself, and then Jesus appearing first to Mary, then to the disciples and then to Thomas, and then to over five hundred people. We, today, have not seen him physically, but blessed are those who have not seen yet believe.

We believe based on testimony. If you were to investigate that scene, like a crime scene investigator, what would you discover? What circumstantial evidence would you find that is beyond a reasonable doubt that Jesus is who he says he is, God in the flesh? The greatest miracle is the creation of the universe, and we have evidence for that. But the one thing that should convince anyone to put their trust in Jesus, of who he claimed to be, and of what he said he did for you and me, is the resurrection from the dead, the empty tomb.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus His Final Hours P4

Classic Christianity – Jesus His Final Hours P4 (04-16-20)

Synopsis

As you ponder over all that Jesus was willing to go through, to be spit on, mocked, with a crown of thorns on his head, marred beyond recognition, being dragged from city to city, beaten and flogged. He was hated by all men for one reason. He told the truth about the condition of the hearts of all men. What kinds of thoughts go through your mind?

I sure hope you do not have the attitude of the religious Jews, who would rather defend their traditions and their interpretation of scripture than to show mercy, grace, love and kindness. Religion makes you mean. So you see the hypocrisy and stupidity of religion, that it is all based on outward performance, with no thought at all for mercy, love, kindness and forgiveness. You cannot stand anyone pointing out the condition of your heart. All of us are like that to some degree. Did you know that a righteous man loves rebuke? Now that sure goes against the natural way a man thinks. So why is that true?

Jesus came to expose the hearts of all men. Why? If we do not see our own sinfulness in light of his perfect holiness, would we ever appreciate the value of Jesus death on a cross.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
