Serve God in the Spirit, Not by The Law

~ “Therefore, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. For when we lived according to the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, bearing fruit for death. But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.” Romans 7:5-6

When a person becomes a child of God, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we are to serve God in a new way, by His Spirit living in us, guiding us in ALL Truth, and abiding in Him by Faith. And faith is responding properly to Truth. Faith is drawing proper conclusions to the Truth that has been revealed to us. Do Not Call To Mind The Former Things From Our Past

~ “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing indeed: Forgetting the things behind and reaching forward to the things ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13,14

~ “Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old. Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18,19

~ Forget about the former things of ourselves in the past. Do NOT dwell on the past circumstances, because you can’t change those things anyways, and it will just bring up feelings that God doesn’t want us dwelling on. God wants us to focus on Him and the Now, and be understanding of the calling He has set before us. Jesus Took Away All Our Sins on the Cross

Behold the Lamb of God Who Took Away the Sins of the World!

~ When a person comes to know the True Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live in them and gives them eternal life immediately. He makes us a new creature in Christ Jesus. Prior to that, we were all dead in our unbelief, and did not have the Holy Spirit living in us. After salvation, the Spirit comes to live in a person forever, and nothing can separate us from Him, NOT even ourselves. He makes us a new creature, where our spirit is merged with His Spirit, and we become a child of God forever.

Now a person who is in Christ Jesus has a choice. We can either choose to listen to the Holy Spirit living in us, and wants to teach us ALL Truth, or we can listen to our flesh, that wants to believe the Lies of Satan and the world. We Were Set Free From the Law of Sin and Death to Be Slaves to Righteousness

~ “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Never may it be! Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to him whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? But thanks be to God that you who were slaves of sin have now become obedient from the heart to the pattern of teaching to which you were committed. And having been set free from sin, you have become slaves to righteousness.” Romans 6:15-18

To understand what being a slave to righteousness about requires being born of the Holy Spirit of God. Being a slave for righteousness is NOT about what we do or don’t do, but it is a matter of placing faith in the faithful One of God to complete the work He began in you. It’s His righteousness that we are slaves to. It’s His body that lives in us if we are a child of God. The Spirit is Given For Life AND to Guide Us Into All TRUTH

~ However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come. John 16:13

Most have no clue what being guided by the Holy Spirit is. For most do not have the Holy Spirit living in them, because they are dead in their unbelief of Jesus and His righteousness. And so, because most do not have the Holy Spirit living in them, they can only be guided by Satan and the world. And those that do have the Holy Spirit living in them, but fail to abide in the teaching of the Holy Spirit, will also be guided by their own understanding of things, and will fall back into the lies of Satan and the world. There are no inbetweens, either a person is being directed by God, or they are being directed by Satan. And today the teaching of Satan’s lies are found everywhere. As a New Creation, The Old Man is Dead, The New Man is Alive in Christ Jesus

~ For if we have become united in the likeness of His death, certainly also we will be of the resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, so that the body of sin might be annulled, that we are no longer enslaved to sin. For the one having died has been freed from sin. Romans 6:5-7

When a person places faith in Jesus, the Spirit of God comes to take up residence in them. Prior to that, we are Man without the Spirit of God living in us. After new birth, we are Man WITH the Spirit of God living in us. He made us a New Creation in Christ Jesus. The Old has gone, behold all things have become NEW! And because of that He begins the process of HIM renewing our minds, He gets us to realize the lies of the world in which we live today. We were once a slave to sin, but now we are slaves to righteousness.
