You Are Loved You Are Forgiven

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P485 (10-24-19)

Synopsis

Bob George receives calls from several callers. Monte was specifically asked to come on the program to share his testimony of God’s grace. He had a hard time accepting the grace of God because of his horrible life he lived. He had been caught up in drugs, and in and out of jail, since he was young. He was literally pushing a shopping cart around here in Vancouver at three in the morning trying to get his next fix. Yet when he came to understand the grace of God, and became born again, his life was dramatically changed.

Bob explained how hard it is for people to understand grace. He explained that Romans 7 is the passage of scripture that to him explains grace. For in Romans we read how Paul testified that he was in sins grasp, for what he knew what was right to do he could not do and the wrong he did not want to do, he did anyway. He realized what a wretched man he was and, therefore, was ready for the grace of God for there was no where else to go and no … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Tells it Like it is

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 83 (10-09-19)

Transcript

Jesus did not die on Friday. He died on Thursday. Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights so too was the Son of God in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

Matthew 12:40
40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Now it says in verse 31. It was the day of preparation. The next day was to be the special Sabbath. That is what we just talked about. Preparation on Thursday, Special Sabbath on Friday, the first day of the feast of unleavened bread. Then the next day, because the Jews did not want to leave the body on the Sabbath, the regular Sabbath day, they asked Pilate to have his legs broken.

John 19:31-37

Liz from Gallup, NM

Liz: I have been saved for 8 years, love the Lord with all my heart, and married for 9 years. We got married in the church but he walked away. I asked him to move.

Liz: In Ephesians it says a man is to write a note to let the wife go. That is what I have to do. (She is in great distress. You can hear anguish or tears in her voice.)

Bob: I am sure it does not say that, Liz. You are reading something that is not there.

Bob: Why are you so upset with this man in your marriage?

Liz: He does not believe the bible. He is believing his traditional way. He is gay. He is practicing homosexuality. He prefers a man than me. (She is quite emotional). I need to file for a divorce.

Bob: Hold on Liz. Let me ask the questions and you answer. I think I can help you better that way.

Bob: Is he practicing homosexuality?

Liz: Yes. People have seen him.

Bob: Have you confronted him with his homosexuality?

Liz: Yes. Has he admitted that … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Do Not Refuse Jesus For Life

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 70 (09-10-19)

Transcript

We are so prone to follow for what He can give us. They followed him when he fed the five thousand. Why? The next day Jesus said to them, “The only reason you are following me is because you were fed on the other side of the lake”.

I have seen this again and again so many times in people today. In church work, working down on the streets, a guy says, “Give me a meal. What do I need to do? Get baptized. Lead me to the water”. So he gets baptized to get a meal and not to get Jesus. Thousands of times people take advantage of that to get numbers to their credit. The only reason they went to the water was to get a meal and not to get Jesus. You have to have discernment on that kind of thing to determine if they are sincere or just following you to get a meal. That is one of the dangers of just giving a meal. All you have accomplished is satisfying someone’s hunger for a couple of hours. You have not accomplished anything.

Remove the Grave Clothes

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 52 (07-30-19)

Synopsis

Jesus has just raised Lazarus from the dead. Here is Jesus, God in the flesh, looking beyond the immediate situation, knowing the deepest need of man. Yet man is so naturally selfish. He is really only concerned about his immediate problem. Natural man is not so concerned if someone else’s mother dies. But if his own mother dies, then he is concerned. God looks beyond the immediate need. He looks at the needs of the entire world. God looks at those needs and says, “I will cause all things to work together for the good of those who love God and have been called according to his purpose. I will not make bad good.” That is why we can praise God in all things. We have that promise from Christ Jesus.

Martha, the sister of Lazarus who is lying dead in a tomb with a stone rolled in front of the entrance says to Jesus, “But Jesus, there is a strong odor. He has been in their for over 4 days.” Jesus tells her, “Did I not tell you, that if you believed, you will see the glory of God?” … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Resurrection

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 51 (07-29-19)

Synopsis

Bob shares from the book of John where Lazarus had died. Jesus meets Mary and Martha. Martha tells Jesus, “If you had only been here, my brother would not have died. But even now, I know that whatever you ask will be done.” Here we come to see more about the person of Jesus. When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. Jesus is a real person with a heart. Jesus, being God in the flesh, was at His Father’s side, creating all that exists, the world we see and all of mankind. Mankind was designed to be created with the Spirit of God living in him. Here he is among his own creation. Imagine God weeping at the fall of man, seeing what was intended in his creation, knowing how man was designed to function, destroyed in a moment by the cunning of Satan, once known as Lucifer, a fallen angel, who has become the father of lies and has deceived man and has him bound in sin and death. That is why … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
