Jesus is God

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 3 (04-03-19)

Bob George continues teaching from the book of John. He encourages all believers to pick up the gospel of John over and over again so you may know the love of God. What counts is lives changed by the Holy Spirit living in men, where faith expresses itself through love. The love that is produced in you is the love of God so that love can be expressed through you.

Galatians 5:6
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

There was a beginning for you and the beginning was the word of God. When God created this world, how did he create it? God created everything there is by his word. This world came into existence by the spoken word of God. So we know that the word was with God and … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Bob addresses such topics as knowing what the word of God means (doctrine), what is the doctrine of the Trinity and where the doctrine of the Trinity comes from, what does the Spirit look like, what do you believe and why do you believe it, the role of the Holy Spirit in teaching you the meaning of His word, the application of doctrine to your life, the conflict of the flesh and the Spirit, choices as a child of God, who can become a child of God, law and grace before Moses, and law and punishment. He shares from supporting scriptures to encourage the listener to internalize truths concerning Christ and yourself. Jesus is Our Righteousness

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 1 (04-01-19)

Before getting into the teaching in the book of John, Bob George first starts a review on biblical interpretation. From 2 Timothy 3:16, he provides a framework of understanding what is meant by scriptures as being inspired by God. He explains that the original manuscripts are inspired and scriptures we have today are translations. Although translations are not inspired, they are translated from God’s inspired word of God into languages known by the reader. In particular, the Septuagint, a translation of the Old Testament Hebrew into Greek, often quoted by Jesus, is a trustworthy translation. Other translations exist today, and we have many in English so we can read in our own language.

2 Timothy 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

Bob opens by reading 2 Timothy 3:16 from the King James Version translation. Bob made a specific point to quote from the King James Version to explain how one needs to show proper discernment when reading from a translation since only the original manuscripts are inspired. This is the only translation that correctly … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Woe to Teachers of the Law

Classic Christianity – Our Attitude Towards Legalism Part 2 (03-26-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George, of the original People to People radio program for over 30 years, shares about what our attitude should be towards legalism. Follow along in Matthew 23 to see the example of Jesus attitude toward the religious Pharisees, the legalists in his day. Bob George continues to share the seven woes Jesus spoke to the Pharisees. As you think of how Jesus spoke to the Pharisees there is a tendency to not think of yourself as a legalist or as someone who does not have a tendency towards legalism in our natural flesh. We are so often blind to our sin. Yet Jesus, perfectly righteous and holy, tells the truth in love. Truth may not be pleasant to hear but it the truth you need to hear. Jesus is full of love so he will tell you the truth. The truth shall set you free and truth deals in reality. He will always call sin what it is. We should never get to the point in our lives when we call sin something other than what it really is. When we are found to be in sin, then we … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Spirit Gives Life

Classic Christianity – Our Attitude Towards Legalism Part 1 (03-25-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George, who has been on the air for over 30 years on People to People radio, shares a message about the attitude of Christ toward legalism. As believers, who have the indwelling Holy Spirit, a person with the mind of Christ, what then should our attitude be toward legalism, toward the teaching and teachers of legalism? Legalists teach things of law to keep people under the bondage of law rather than the freedom under grace. You cannot mix law and grace. Under law, there is a punishment associated with law. Without a punishment, the law is worthless. But in Christ, we are no longer under the law but under grace. The punishment of our sins has already been paid in full. God set aside the law through Christ Jesus who fulfilled the entirety of the law. Now, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, God offers new life to men. That life is eternal life, the same Holy Spirit life that is in Christ Jesus. Those who believed the message of God’s grace in Christ Jesus are born again. When you were born again, the Holy Spirit was placed in … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Emotions - Can You Trust Them

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P424 (3-21-19)

Bob George RadioJustin called on behalf of a friend to help him out, for he was is struggling with emotional and spiritual pain. Bob replied by explaining how God designed the mind, will and emotions. Emotions are dumb and only respond to what the mind feeds, whether real or fantasy, and it cannot discern the difference. The key to overcoming emotional pain is to renew the mind. For as the mind is renewed the feelings follow. To have proper feelings then your mind needs to dwell on things that are true. The word of God is true. But in order to understand truth one must be born again of the Spirit. When you are born again and taught of the Spirit you will learn to walk in complete joy and freedom.

Bill asked, “If our nation’s laws are derived from the 10 commandments, how do we not have an ongoing relationship with the law?” Bob explained to Bill what the purpose of the law is. All good and perfect laws that govern men are derived from the nature of God, and can be traced to the 10 commandments, but the problem is that … Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
