Vine and Branches

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P611 (02-25-21)

Synopsis

In this day and age, with this so-called pandemic that disrupted our lives, many people are beginning to wonder what church is? Is it really a building you go to? And when you go to that building, listening to a pastor preach, what were you being taught? Do you feel guilt-ridden, that you do not measure up to some standard? Are you told that whenever you sin, you are out of fellowship with God? Listen as callers ask these kinds of questions, and are looking for answers to what it means to be a Christian. How is a Christian supposed to live? Is it supposed to be burdensome or are you supposed to experience love, peace and joy?

First of all, the assumption is you are born again, having the Spirit of God placed in you and made a part of the body of Christ, of whom Jesus Christ is the head. That is the church, you, a new creation, with the Spirit of God living in you, being led internally by the Spirit, who reveals truth to you. And you grow by allowing Him to teach you, to correct and train you, not as someone under a law of sin and death, as if He is punishing you, but as a child, leading, instructing and guiding you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Loved Us First

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P44 (02-02-21)

Synopsis

What impact does the empty tomb have on your life? Well, let us ponder over how it impacted the lives of the apostles, who were eyewitnesses, who walked and talked with Jesus and who saw the resurrected Jesus. When you think that all but one of the apostles died a martyr’s death, and all faced intense persecution, would it make sense to believe they would be willing to go through the things they did for a lie? So as you read the scriptures, or listen as Bob George shares from these scriptures, what logical conclusion would you come to?

Consider also the contrast before the day of Pentecost and after Pentecost into the behavior of the disciples. First, what were they like before Pentecost? Here were all the disciples, immediately after the death of Christ, cowering behind closed doors, all in fear of the religious leaders. Here was Peter who was afraid of a servant girl, and denying he even knew Christ, and he did this three times just as Jesus said he would do. Then you have Thomas who said, after hearing the report from the women at the tomb that Jesus is risen, that he would not believe until he saw the nails in Jesus’ side.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Law of Love and Freedom

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P601 (01-22-21)

Synopsis

There is so much error that needs to be replaced with truth. You are inundated with teaching from denominational persuasions of men, that if you are not in God’s word, relying on the Spirit to reveal truth to you, you have this tendency to hold onto things you think are true. You have heard something so often and so repetitively from people who have this reputation of being a leader or having some seminary degree that you believe what they say. They could be teaching truth, but they could also be teaching error. How do you know? So we are to be those who diligently study the scriptures to see if what someone says is true.

Many people think the ten commandments are a guide for a believer. But if you look into scripture, you come to realize that the law was made for the unbeliever, that they come to the end of the law for righteousness, that they might seek a Savior. The law will never go away because the law is a tool for the lost. Without a penalty, the law is meaningless. And the penalty for sin is death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Be Devoted to One Another in Love

Thanksgiving P2 – Bob George (11-23-20)

Synopsis

Turn to Romans and read along as Bob explains its meaning. The book of Romans is a book of contrast between law and grace. The purpose of the law is for man to recognize his sinfulness, his condition of spiritual death, that he might seek a Savior in Jesus Christ. There is so much that the apostle Paul explains concerning the law; its purpose, it’s inability to make one righteous before God, it’s ministry of death to make man realize his sinful state. The law is like a mirror. A mirror can show dirt on the face but it has no power to remove the dirt. So too is the law to show man he is a sinner but there is no power in the law to make anyone righteous before God.

The law demands perfect obedience, which no man in his weakened sinful state could ever completely obey. As James said, if a man obeyed all of the law but failed at just one point, then he is guilty of breaking all of the law. A law without a penalty is no law at all. The law would have no meaning. God’s penalty for sin is spiritual death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Thanksgiving P1 – Bob George (11-20-20)

Synopsis

A very special Thanksgiving message for today of Putting Jesus First in Your Life.
Bob George tells the story of Dave Boyer, the singer that sings our Classic Christianity opening theme song, “Put Jesus First in Your Life.”

Welcome to Bob George Classic Christianity radio with Bob George, the clear and timeless teaching on the complete forgiveness and unconditional love of Jesus Christ as you learn about God’s amazing love. Bob shares from God’s word reminding us of the attitudes of love and thankfulness. He contrasts the world’ peace with God’s peace, lust or attraction with agape love, anxiety with faith, fear with love, self-centered thinking with God-centered thinking, worry with thankfulness, man’s will versus God’s will, weakness with God’s strength, negative thinking with thinking with a proper self image, a dead life replaced with a new life, following Jesus with being led of the indwelling Holy Spirit, fear with love, evil versus good, and worldly thinking with scriptural thinking based on truth. With such teaching, one has a solid foundation on which to be truly thankful. With the Holy Spirit in you, the love of God is shown through you; a sincere love, out of the heart, and not just with words.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Died For All Sins He Has Forgiven You

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P588 (11-13-20)

Synopsis

It is good to receive encouragement from other believers. We all face struggles in life, a son going off to fight a war, burdened when you see your adult son making bad decisions in life, struggles with bitterness or depression, finding it difficult to forgive others who have wronged you. There are all kinds of struggles we face down here. We know these struggles are temporary in light of eternity, but we want answers on how to deal with these things.

Bob himself is encouraged to hear when truth is received and lives are changed. Those who grab a hold of this truth are teaching the same truth that encouraged and helped them into the lives of others. There are bible studies started in prisons and over in other countries where people have been deployed.

Listen as Bob answers questions from various callers, continuing to help others with the gift of teaching God has given him. Of course, the starting point is knowing God as your Lord and Savior. The teaching about salvation, of life in Christ Jesus, is a practical message. Christ in you is your hope of glory, is your means of living in love and joy and peace in this world we live in.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
