Understanding the New Covenant

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P698 (01-07-22)

Understanding the New Covenant vs the Old Covenant

Marriage and divorce are topics of conversation that come up for Christians many times as being held as a hammer over someone’s head, especially if they are or have been divorced. Yet it’s so vitally important to put things in the proper perspective. Divorce, marriage and remarriage in the New Covenant vs divorce, marriage and remarriage under the Old Covenant are items that need to be addressed and placed in the proper context. First off, we need to understand which side of the cross we live under right now, and also to understand that Jesus taught under the Old Covenant of the law. He taught that because He needed to bury us under it completely. Only Jesus could and did obey the law. We can not obey it.

The first caller, Michael called from Atlanta Georgia. He called about marriage and divorce.

Bob explains the New Covenant and points out that we live on the New Testament side of the cross. We live in the New Covenant. We live under a new will of God. The old Covenant was the law, and no … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

How to Live by Faith

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P693 (12-09-21)

How to Live by Faith

We often hear stories that when a person comes to Christ Jesus, and becomes a believer, that everything will be peaches and cream in their life. There are people that will teach you all kinds of lies in regards to worldly wealth or think and grow rich, as though Jesus is the name it and claim it, the go to God for everything in this life to be happy, wealthy and wise, and everyone will just love you for being a Christian. However, if a person is a witness for Christ Jesus, they may face persecution from the world. But fear not, for Jesus who is alive living in you, is greater than he that is in the world.

The first caller, Bob called from Denver Colorado. He became a Christian and lost all of his secular friends. He also lost a job, due to timing issues. He was feeling a bit down and wanted to be pointed in the right direction with some scripture verses.

Bob George shares some key verses of scripture and points to Truth.

John 16:33

Be Thankful in Everything

Classic Christianity – Thanksgiving Part 4 (11-25-21)

Give Thanks to God Through Jesus in Everything We Do

Turn to Romans and read along as Bob explains its meaning. The book of Romans is a book of contrast between law and grace. The purpose of the law is for man to recognize his sinfulness, his condition of spiritual death, that he might seek a Savior in Jesus Christ. There is so much that the apostle Paul explains concerning the law; its purpose, it’s inability to make one righteous before God, it’s ministry of death to make man realize his sinful state. The law is like a mirror. A mirror can show dirt on the face but it has no power to remove the dirt. So too is the law to show man he is a sinner but there is no power in the law to make anyone righteous before God.

The law demands perfect obedience, which no man in his weakened sinful state could ever completely obey. As James said, if a man obeyed all of the law but failed at just one point, then he is guilty of breaking all of the law. A law without a penalty is no … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Having a Proper Relationship With a Spouse in Marriage and Being Born Again

Bob George was on the air for many years talking with callers about various topics that are just as pertinent for today. Listen in as Bob tries to help those in need with Godly counsel.

Samantha called from Denver Colorado with a question about sex in marriage and being a newlywed, where her husband no longer wanted to have sex. Many red flags pop up.

1 Corinthians 7:5 New Living Translation
5 Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Brad in Lubbock Texas called in regards to a divorce that he and his wife is going through. Children are involved in the marriage. She doesn’t want to go to a counselor. When children are involved, it is important to try and work things out. Try to convince her, for the sake of the children, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P685 (11-04-21)

Christ is our wisdom and help in time of need. He is the Truth to all our problems. Let us walk in a manner worthy of our calling in Christ Jesus.

Bob George, on the air with the original People to People ministries, answers questions by callers from across the country on real life issues as well as the common questions. Andrew from Lubbock, Texas asked about the meaning of the head covering for a woman in the passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11.

1 Corinthians 11:10
10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels.

Bob answered what he knew from a translation or footnote in a translation that provided information that makes some of that passage more easily understood in its context of the day the letter was written. In that culture, the Gentile were very heathen, and had idols made of stone and sexual goddesses with temple prostitutes. The prostitutes in those days wore short hair or had their heads shaved. From Bob”s understanding, a woman who came out of that sinful life style and … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
