Flesh and Blood Will Not Inherit the Kingdom of God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P564 (08-21-20)

Synopsis

What an opportunity to hear truth from like-minded believers, sharing truth from God’s word, asking good questions to learn from the Lord through His word, with humble and gracious hearts. There is nothing so moving, encouraging and touching than to hear a believer tell her story of how truth was revealed to her, and how her life, and that of her family, was changed as a result. You can hear their enthusiasm and gratitude of heart. It encourages the body of Christ to hear such things.

There are things that you read from these scriptures that you just do not always have answers to, those non-essential things such as when you die, when will you get your new body, immediately after you die or at the time of the rapture, spoken about in 2 Thessalonians 4. If you have already died, you meet the Lord first in the air, and meet Him along with all those who are still alive.

One of the keys to learning from the Lord is that when we have a firm passage of scripture, we do not go to the obscure to interpret the obvious. The obvious passage is that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

In Christ Jesus Present With The Lord

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P28 (06-22-20)

Synopsis

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Ponder over this scripture. How much time do you and I spend on things that are temporary, the seen things, when the Lord tells us to keep our eyes on Him and things that are eternal? We know our bodies are wasting away. Anyone over forty certainly has a greater understanding of that, and certainly someone in their fifties. But we are told to number our days so we may gain a heart of wisdom. We need to evaluate our priorities in life and invest in things that last forever, in worthy ministries to get the message of God’s grace into the hearts of men. We need to invest our money, our time, and our treasures on eternal things.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Our Faith is in Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P27 (06-17-20)

Synopsis

This hope we have is in this new glorious body we have been promised and being with the Lord forever. We have this hope, so there is no fear in death, by which we say, “Where, Oh death, is your sting. Where, Oh death, is your victory.” Paul writes to encourage the believers, both those who are still alive when the Lord returns, and those who have already died, of this hope. We will have a new glorious body like His when we see Him like He is, for He says He will transform our lowly bodies into glorious bodies like His because we shall see Him as He is. When we die He has told us that when we are absent from this body, this earthly tent, we shall be present with Him. So the Spirit reveals the truth of these things to us. He does so so that we can know this hope and not weep like those who have no hope. We hold onto what He has said and believe what He tells us, because that is what faith is, believing what He has revealed to us by His Spirit.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Our Hope of Glory

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Faith, Hope & Love P26 (06-16-20)

Synopsis

So we, who are in Christ, have this blessed hope, that one day, in a flash, in a twinkling of an eye, we will be changed. The moment we die, or the moment we are raptured, either way, we will be changed because we will see Him as He really is. We will be given a new spiritual body, like His. This earthly body will remain in the grave. For we read that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. The perishable will be swallowed up with the imperishable. Now, what we will be, what this new body will be like, that has not been made known. But we do know what Jesus said, that our body will be like His glorious body. And we know one thing about His body, that after He walked on the earth after rising from the dead, he appeared to his disciples behind locked doors. He walked through a wall. So, I would assume that we will have a body that can walk through walls. But beyond that, what the body will be like has not been made known.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Only by Faith

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P37 (02-03-20)

Synopsis

What do you ponder over that Jesus did for us, who made us into one body of believers in Christ Jesus? Are you in Christ Jesus? Then you cannot help but say, “Thank you, Jesus”. Can you grasp the magnitude of His love for you? You who once had a heart of stone, have now been given a heart of flesh, a heart that expresses love toward others because of the love poured into you by Christ Jesus. Gratitude of heart is what expresses itself in love in a person who is born again, with the Spirit of God living in him, as He grows in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What trials and tribulations, famine or sword, danger or hardship or persecution, have you already gone through? Did God ever leave you or forsake you during those times? No, it is in those times our roots go deeper into Christ Jesus. We learn the depth of His love for us. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. In those deepest days of despair, longing to be with Him, feeling you cannot bear one more day on this earth, the pain so great, but Jesus is right there.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Has Prepared a New Body For Believers

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P34 (01-27-19)

Synopsis

In this mortal body of ours, you, who are in Christ, being born again, have the Spirit of God living in you. This body of flesh and blood is not suited for heaven, being weakened by the fall of man, and will go the grave. But God sealed in you the Holy Spirit of promise, to one day be raised, with a new body, an immortal body designed for heaven. We long to be clothed in our new body, but while we are on this fallen world, where even all creation groans for its redemption, we live by faith.

The same Spirit, in the earthly body of Jesus, is the same Spirit living in us. As Jesus lived by faith, with the Spirit living in him, doing only what he saw his Father doing and only saying what is Father told him to say and how to say it, is the perfect model of how man was designed to function. That is why he is referred to as the second Adam. We are designed to walk in the same manner of faith as he did.

God, seeing the fallen state of mankind, as a result of the sin of the one man Adam, sent His only Son, Christ Jesus, into this world to reconcile mankind unto Himself.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
