Salvation is Eternal Life

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P440 (5-16-19)

Bob George sometimes received calls from people who have a general question concerning a scripture that seems out of place and does not make sense in reference to the totality of other scriptures. They call to ask Bob for his understanding. Bob addressed a question by Larry to explain Mark 16:6. Sometimes just common sense can get you through a scripture’s intended meaning. We should not drink poison or drink poison thinking we will not be harmed. Bob also explained how a translation can have a passage that is not in the original manuscripts and to take that into consideration when studying God’s word.

Other times people call just to thank Bob for resources received to share with others so as to grow and be encouraged in the faith. Such was the case with Ted who called thanking Bob for bible study materials he received, such as “Classic Christianity” and “Victory over Depression” that he shared with men he was deployed with in Iraq.

Bob also received calls from others who were listening to false teaching. So often people hear preachers say that salvation is coming to get your sins forgiven. That is not salvation.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

A Closer Look Bible Studies

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P438 (5-09-19)

Bob addressed several questions often asked by people even today. Is tithing for today? What about Melchizedek? Does the example of Abraham “tithing” to Melchizedek mean that we should tithe today? If I committed adultery that resulted in divorce, is it okay for me to marry again? Should we celebrate certain Jewish holidays, such as the feast of first fruits, or Pentecost? What should we do about certain things that are not clear in scripture, such as certain topics that do not really have sufficient information and tend toward speculation? Should women serve in the military? Can a woman be a pastor? What is the role of men and women in the home? Are their roles different? What does it mean for a woman to submit to her husband?

Erwin from Vancouver, British Columbia

Erwin called about the importance of Pentecost and asked when we should be celebrating it.

Pentecost occurred fifty days after the resurrection of Christ Jesus. Pente means fifty. So fifty days following the the resurrection of Christ Jesus. This would fall in April. For the birth of Christ, there is some speculation. But the resurrection lines up with the feasts.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Died and Resurrected For Me

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P428 (4-04-19)

Bob George, on the air with the original People to People ministries, answers questions by callers from across the country on real life issues as well as the common questions. Andrew from Lubbock, Texas asked about the meaning of the head covering for a woman in the passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11. Bob answered what he knew from a translation or footnote in a translation that provided information that makes some of that passage more easily understood in its context of the day the letter was written. In that culture, the Gentile were very heathen, and had idols made of stone and sexual goddesses with temple prostitutes. The prostitutes in those days wore short hair or had their heads shaved. From bob’s understanding, a woman who came out of that sinful lifestyle and is now a believer may still have her head shaved and if she does not want to be identified with the “shorn” woman, that is, the prostitutes, she should have a head covering until the time her grows out. As far as other things in that passage, such as “because of the angels”, he did not have an answer.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Call-In Bob George p398 (12-07-18)

Bob George answers calls from various listeners, proving clarification of scriptures with practical insight from God’s word. The callers today asked Bob to clarify the understanding of certain passages of scriptures. One person asked if a person could ever be blotted out of the book of life in reference to a passage of scripture in Revelation 3. Another person was bothered about what she perceived as a war between good and evil that if people go to hell then would that not indicate God lost the war? Bob addressed the person by redirecting her away from thinking in terms of winning and losing. God is not in a competition with Satan. Instead he encouraged her to ponder over the fact of how God chose to create man with a free will. Because of that choice of design, man can choose to come to Christ by faith or reject him. Many indeed will reject him but that is by a choice. For the heart and desire of God is that none should perish but all come to faith in him for eternal to be with God forever. Another person was all bogged down into details of an Old Testament passage concerning Esau in the book of Obadiah.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
