I don’t think there’s a more important subject that we can deal with than our identity. First of all, I think the most important subject that we have to deal with is His identity and that’s Christ. And of course not only do most people, not only not know who He is, but because we don’t know who He is, we don’t know who we are. And so we really don’t know a whole lot when it comes right down to it. I think the other thing is because we’re in such a mindset that our identity comes from what we do, that the reality of that is and the problem with that is, we go out and do something and we don’t even know who it is that did it. If we don’t understand who we are, so when my identity is in what I do, I can say well I do this, I’m a preacher. I’m a basketball player. Eternal Life in Christ Jesus or Eternal Death in Hell – Your Choice

Monica called from Victoria, British Columbia. She had a problem with people going to hell and experiencing eternal fire or whatever the bible calls it. She had a problem believing that was the case for lost people.

Bob explains to her that either there is eternally alive with Christ or eternally in hell (apart from Christ). He further explains that people get into a sense of sloppy sentimentality into thinking of how could God punish us eternally in hell. The miracle is how could a just God save us into heaven. You see, none of us are worthy to be saved. The miracle isn’t hell, the miracle is heaven.

A just and loving God gave man a choice to either choose to accept the death, burial and resurrection of His son, or the opposite to deny and reject that and live apart from Him, in hell. It’s man’s choice. And the reason for this separation is because man’s heart is wicked.

God’s Righteousness is Incorruptible!

The fantastic good news is that God’s righteousness is incorruptible. Note that we never had any righteousness to begin with. So, the very moment we are born again of the Spirit, God’s Spirit comes into us and gives us eternal life. At that very moment in time, we become clothed in the righteousness of God. When God looks at us (people that have been born again of the Spirit of God), He sees the righteousness of Jesus Christ. So when God looks at us, He sees the clothing of Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:30
³⁰ It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

When we receive Jesus, we receive His righteousness. We don’t get righteousness by what we do. We don’t make ourselves holy by the things we don’t do. God’s righteousness has to be imputed to us. Man Has a Human Spirit That Needs Life

Man is not an animal. Man has a human spirit. It doesn’t have the Spirit of God living in there by default. Man still is alive to the things of the world, yet it is dead to God’s Spirit. Man still wonders about all things. Man is trying to find meaning and purpose to life. We look at money to find happiness. Yet that doesn’t bring satisfaction to life. Solomon said it is all vanity. Solomon had everything yet he realized it was all vanity.

Once you come to Christ Jesus, He becomes our source of contentment. Jesus becomes our peace.

John 14:14
