Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P37 (01-18-21)

Synopsis

The older you get, you will experience the death of someone you love, of a mother or father or a close friend. Or you may be experiencing a very difficult situation where a close friend is sick, or is in a critical accident, and is unconscious. You call on others to pray with you. Now, do we pray in accordance with God’s will or do we expect God to answer whatever we pray? Do we falsely think that since God lives in me, and He healed people, that, therefore, we can ask anything in His name and He will do it? In other words, am I telling God what to do so that He must respond to me, or am I listening to the voice of God and responding to what He has intended me to do or say?

Do we keep looking for a sign and a wonder but never come to faith in Christ, looking for only those things of this world, that are temporary and do not last? Do we look beyond the physical miracle and see that the greater miracle is when someone comes to new life in Christ Jesus?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P599 (01-15-21)

Synopsis

It is so easy to have errors in your head. All you have to do is be born into this world, in the sin nature of Adam, and be exposed to the god of this world. God wanted to restore our thinking, so it is based on truth, in Him who is truth. But we grow hearing things, even from denominations or whatever church we grew up in. We hear things like, “I am just a sinner saved by grace.” If you are in Christ, is that true? Not according to the word of God, it isn’t. You are a saint who sometimes sins. You have a new identity called a child of God, a saint by calling, in accordance with who you are. So we must hear truth, and allow that truth to dispel error. That is growing in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Truth comes through revelation by the Spirit of God through the word of God.

Of course, you must be born again, having the Spirit of God placed in you. Just as you were born physically, you must also be born a second time, but this time born spiritually.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P598 (01-14-21)

Synopsis

It takes time to get wisdom, and that only comes by knowing God, spending time in His word, and learning to ask good questions. A home bible study, or a Zoom meeting with other believers, can be helpful for that. But the group meeting should be organized about the word of God, and focused on getting to know the author. This is not like a book study, where you get information, like you would a history or math book. In those kinds of studies, like you would study in college, you are not trying to get to know the author. You primarily just want to get a grade and a degree. Not so with the bible. You want to know a person, and by knowing that person of Jesus Christ, you get wisdom.

In this day of Coronavirus, with all these lockdowns and censoring going on, more and more people are beginning to see more readily that the church is not a building but people, people who are born again, who have Christ living in them. That is when two or more are gathered in His name, and Christ, being in you, is right in the midst of you.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P36 (01-13-21)

Synopsis

Scripture instructs us to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith. What is the attitude of our hearts? God came to reveal to us the attitude of our hearts, the condition of our soul. He did this so we might see our utter wretchedness and seek a Savior in Jesus Christ, that we might receive His righteousness, for we never had any of our own.

But what is our tendency in our humanity? Instead of looking at our sins in light of perfect righteousness, we compare ourselves with others saying, “I am not as bad as that woman over there.” As the apostle Paul says, he who compares himself with others is not wise. So we need to ask ourselves probing questions. For example, looking at the definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13, of who God is, since God is love, how well are you doing in the love department? If God, who is love, is alive living in you, then what kind of nature should be observed coming out of you? So, the types of questions to be asked are: “Is God alive living in you?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P35 (01-12-21)

Synopsis

Who is Jesus Christ, and by knowing that, what does that mean to me personally? That is the question of the century. Certainly he is a man of history, someone who walked on this earth, as even our calendars are divided into B.C. and A.D. There were prophecies recorded down in the scriptures that predicted what would the promised Messiah would do, as spoken by the prophets.

Then we read about the eyewitnesses of Jesus Christ, while he was on this earth, and he fulfilled every one of those prophecies. Then we had the testimony of Jesus’ interaction with Mary Magdalene, his mother Mary, his disciples and the afflicted, who recognized who he is and bowed down and worshiped him. He healed the sick, made the blind see, walked on water, calmed the storms by His word, spoke words no man has ever heard, penetrating the hearts of men, exposing their inner heart to them, yet extending mercy and grace, being full of grace and truth. Ultimately he died on a cross and rose again, just as the prophets said would happen. Many did not believe, did not understand or were unwilling to accept what He had to say.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P34 (01-11-21)

Synopsis

A saint said one time, “To err is human, but to forgive is divine”. Do we not have the tendency to put people on pedestals, to worship man, especially those in a leadership position, a president, a well-known or popular pastor, who has built up quite a respectful following. Let us not bow down to a man, or even an angel of God. God alone is worthy of worship. All of us are capable of doing wrong, and we will from time to time, in our frail humanity, and God knows that all so well but He loves us anyway. And He loves us to solve that problem we have that we cannot solve, and knowing we are still so prone to fail. That is a kind of love the world does not understand.

So we read some examples of people who fell down and worshipped Jesus. We read about the wisemen, who gave expensive gifts fit for a king and they fell down and worshipped Him, knowing that this baby is the promised Messiah the prophets spoke about, for they saw the star in the East to lead them.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
