Classic Christianity and Growing in Grace

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P594 (12-17-20)

Synopsis

All of us need encouragement in this fallen world we live in. As Jesus warned us so many times, let no man deceive you. All of us have been deceived one time or another and are all subject to deception. Many of us grew up in some denomination or cult even, and some of us came to the knowledge of the truth. We came to realize God’s word is truth, and anything contrary to that is to be rejected as from men. Not all men are deliberately deceiving you. Many are simply passing on what they heard from others.

How grateful we are for those many people, the born again believers all over the world, who have understood God’s grace, the totality of the cross, of being made complete in Christ and salvation through receiving new life through the resurrection of Christ Jesus, who has offered all men the Holy Spirit to be placed in those who believe.

So listen now as various callers call in to either encourage Bob or receive instruction on things they have heard that just does not ring true to them, and are coming now … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Forgave You Once For All Sins

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P585 (11-05-20)

Synopsis

As people grow in Christ, you will have questions. Someone might ask, “I thought you would stop sinning once you are saved. Am I not saved then, since I am still sinning?” I think if you thought that, you will find out very quickly that that cannot be true, that you stop sinning. You will begin to sin less, but none of us will ever walk in complete faith in God, and that is the essence of sin. Anything that does not come from faith is sin.

So it goes back to understanding what Jesus accomplished at the cross, when he shed his blood once and for all, and about our fallen nature we inherited in Adam, and coming alive in Christ Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, he took away forever our sins, and the sins of the entire world, from the eyes of God. He took the full weight of death required for all sin. That is why when we are in Christ, there is no longer any condemnation for sin. If you are not in Christ, that means you remain dead in your sins because you … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P546 (06-19-20)

Synopsis

Life can certainly be frustrating. You are a believer and want to provide a better home for your family, and you find life difficult and you wonder how to live this life. You lose heart. Or you are a believer and you know your family is lost as ever. They have not understood the gospel and they do not even want to listen to the truth on such an important message. Whenever a topic comes up, they just stay clear of it. And your heart breaks for your family. Or you are a believer but you are married to a spouse who has gotten caught up in sinful behavior, such as a drug addiction or addicted to pornography. Several callers called on this program for help in how to deal with these life struggles and wanted wisdom in what to do.

There is always hope in Jesus Christ. We all know what sin is like, for we can all identify with Paul who said, “I do not understand myself. The things I hate to do I do and the things I do not want to do I do anyhow. What … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Saves a Person by Grace Through Faith

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P514 (02-21-20)

Synopsis

The grace of God has truly appeared to all men, teaching us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Sometimes circumstances of life have a way of leading us to fall into temptation or to compromise what we know is true. We should never let ourselves be polluted by the world, whether it is your own mother, who is old now, a non-believer, whom you bring into your own home. You should be influencing her, and not her influencing you into idol worship. You have the truth concerning Jesus Christ. It is good you let her into your home and take care of her, and you should, for religion that is undefiled is this, to look after widows and orphans in their distress. And if you do not look after your own, then you would be worse than an unbeliever. But tell her about Jesus Christ. Make use of every opportunity to proclaim Christ.

In this world, there will be false teaching everywhere you turn, even among people who proclaim they know Christ, but add or subtract … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Believe Jesus is God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P500 (12-20-19)

Synopsis

It cannot be emphasized enough to study the bible on your own, allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you. That is the only way you can be certain that you are hearing truth. It is common among the world today for people to rely on what their favorite teacher says as true, whether it be Bob George, John MacArthur, Calvin or Luther, or whoever you happen to esteem. But, how do you know if they are teaching you correctly? They might be but they might not be. How would you know?

Recognize also that cults, such as the Catholics and the Mormons today, the legalists, like the Jews the apostle Paul confronted in Galatia, and the gnostics confronted by the apostle John, will twist scripture in teaching men. So many have been led astray by such teaching. But, if you, who have the Spirit in you, and have grown in discernment, be on guard and recognize error when you hear it. Bear in mind that there are numerous erroneous teaching among various denominations today, the teaching of tithe, a second filling or baptism of the Spirit, and Calvinism, for example, … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Took Away All Your Sins

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P499 (12-19-19)

Synopsis

When you have a question on a hard to understand topic, one thing you can be sure of, the answer has to be in agreement with what salvation is, of what the gospel is. A good question to answer first is this: Do you believe that Jesus took away the sins of the entire world? Now, is your answer to that based on what the Holy Spirit has revealed to you through the scriptures, or are you merely repeating what you heard from a denominational persuasion? Your answer to that question will determine how you are going to interpret other scriptures?

Consider the following passages of scripture. I will list some verses, but go back and read the entire verses in their context. If you have the Holy Spirit living in you, then you can rely on the Spirit to reveal to you the meaning. Based on these scriptures, what do you believe these scriptures mean? Romans 5:10, 1 John 2:2, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 9:22, Hebrews 9:12, Hebrews 9:26, and Hebrews 10:10.

If the Holy Spirit is living in you, then you shall know the truth. Grow in the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
