Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P548 (06-26-20)

Synopsis

Today’s callers asked for help in regard to marriage issues and even about how to quit smoking. A lady called on behalf of her older sister who is seeing another man. Another person asked for clarification on a passage of scripture in regards to a passage in regard to adultery and marriage in Matthew 18:8-10. A person called about clarification on a passage of scripture, in Colossians 1:21-23, that seemed to indicate you could lose your salvation, even though he knows you cannot. Then there was this question that you still her quite often today, “Is a Catholic a Christian?”

Many of the questions these callers asked can easily be answered when, first of all you have the Spirit of God living in you, and you know the difference between the old covenant of sin and death, before the cross, and the new covenant of grace, after the cross, that we are under today. So when Jesus is saying things in the gospel of Mathew, Mark, Luke or John, he is saying things to people living under an old covenant, and the new has not yet come.

Jesus Brings a New Birth

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P518 (03-06-20)

Synopsis

Various callers ask specific questions, such as what does it mean to be born again, about prophesies of Isaiah and Jeremiah, about the millennial reign for the church; the latter rain and the coming glory of the church. The last caller asked if a woman can be a deacon. Listen as Bob answers these questions.

The following is a synopsis of the first caller, answering the question of what it means to be born again. Listen to the audio if you have interest in what Bob shared from scripture in regards to the other callers’ questions. Being born again is the most vital question that must be understood properly.

A person called because he wanted to know what it means to be born again. He was raised Roman Catholic, and was a practicing Roman Catholic most of his life. But now he has been going to a non-denominational Christian church for many years now. That is where he heard about being born again. He wants to be assured of what that means. When he listens to Christian radio, he hears different things. Some pastors preach that people who think they … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

How to Avoid The Lure of Deception

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P487 (10-31-19)

Synopsis

Bob answers the common questions that are asked today. Many times people attend a certain denomination but do not check out if what is being taught is true. If you are born again, you have the Holy Spirit living in you. So now, you have the mind of Christ and can discern the things of God. But do you read God’s word so that your mind can be renewed? How do you know if Bob George, or whoever you listen to, is teaching you correctly? How do you know if your pastor or Sunday school or denominational persuasion is teaching you correctly? You cannot know if you do not open up the word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you.

Many times we will let our children see something on television, listening to some self proclaimed experts, who proclaim things as if they are true. A parent came home to find out his 14 year old son being taken in on someone speaking from the gospel of Judas. First of all, we do not know who wrote the book of Judas. He certainly was not an apostle … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Understanding the New Covenant

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P477 (9-27-19)

Transcript

Nick from Loredo, TX

Nick: I was listening to someone preach the other day. He said you cannot be a cafeteria Christian. What he meant was that you cannot be a Christian that just picks and chooses scriptures and live accordingly. It is either all of the scripture or none of them.

Bob: Well, that is not true. You certainly do not want to be living under the Old Covenant when it has been replaced by the New Covenant. I do not know what his theology is. Let us take two scenarios. If he is saying that we are just as much under the Old Covenant as the New Covenant, then that person is out to lunch. If the Jews could not live under the Old Covenant, we cannot live under it either. That is why God came to replace the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant is obsolete, old and aging and will soon disappear. We do not live under the Old Covenant. We live under the New Covenant.

Hebrews 8:13
13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated

Listen to The Spirit of Truth

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 76 (09-24-19)

Synopsis

Bob George continues sharing from the 16th chapter of John. Jesus came to speak truth into the hearts of men. Sadly, even today, not everyone receives truth. The Jews today deny Jesus is the Messiah. They rejected him as the promised Messiah, whom the prophets told was to come into this world to take away sins. Most Jews today do not even know the bible. They hardly know anything except the Passover and things you celebrate, but nothing about Moses, yet they all agree that Jesus is not God. You have the Muslims who would rather believe Mohammad over the words of Jesus, and even think they are doing a service to God by killing Jews and Christians. You have the atheist, who is a fool, saying there is no God. You have the mystics who say that truth does not really matter. “Just love one another”, they say, yet fail to realize that it is impossible to love perfectly as God demonstrated His love to us. Then you have the Catholics, who would rather trust their traditions and what the pope has to say, who deny the finality … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Be Transformed Renew Your Mind

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P474 (9-19-19)

Synopsis

Rainey from Albany, NY

Rainey: I am reading Classic Christianity, and calling the number at the end of the book. I am dealing with depression. I have had a very difficult childhood, with divorce. I thought I got over most of the stuff. I was always religious, a Catholic growing up, and thought I would become a nun. I think anti-depressants help. I get messages that I do not have enough faith.

Bob: Let me see if I can help you. If you have depression, I can help you with that. Psychiatric patients are like that because they are obsessed with the past or the future. The first thing you have to understand is that God created you that our feelings will predictably respond to what you are thinking. As an example, “Have you ever felt the emotion of jealousy? What were you thinking? Jealous thoughts. That is why we are feeling thoughts of jealousy. Are we together?

Rainey: Yes. It is hard to keep a thought from entering.

Bob: Have you ever felt sad? Have you ever felt happy? What were you thinking? Happy thoughts. Have you ever felt … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
