Synopsis

Sometimes we get bogged down in our daily lives, being bombarded with legalism or teaching that just weighs us down. The day to day mundane things we do just seems to weigh us down at times. But to know that the time we ourselves get alone with the Lord, letting Him teach us the meaning of the word of God, and see the work God is doing in us. Then, as we simply share truth that has been revealed to us, that truth not only changes our own lives, but it overflows into the lives of others. That makes living so worthwhile.

Listen as Bob George shares with a young seminary student getting bogged down in his studies in theology that seems to distract him from being taught by the Holy Spirit. At times even, incorrect teaching is being told him, and he also feels this push towards legalism. Bob shares truth with him to help him to keep focused on being taught of the Holy Spirit. Synopsis

When you read in the scriptures about all the different eyewitnesses of those who saw, heard and touched Jesus, what conclusions do you come to? You can only come to the conclusion that Jesus is either a nutcase, a liar, or an imposter, or He is indeed what He claimed to be, God in the flesh. If even archaeological evidence confirms the events, times and places that are recorded in the scriptures are true, and that what is written down by the prophets came true precisely as they said, then I would ask where does the evidence lead? What probability is there that all these over 300 prophecies, even over a thousand years, long before the events occurred, by people of all walks of life and different periods in history, all came true, what reasonable conclusion would you come to? The overwhelming evidence is why we believe that Jesus is God and His word is true. Jesus even said if you cannot believe me by what I say then believe me based on the miracles you see. Synopsis

Many people have been exposed to much religious teaching. You can be raised in a denomination, and you heard that Jesus died, was buried and rose again. Even if just from the few holidays celebrated every year, by Christians and non-Christians alike, such as Christmas and Easter, you hear those things about Jesus, and maybe even accept that as being true. But have you asked more probing questions as to why he died, why he was buried and why he rose again?

If you were brought up in some religious background, you might have heard more about the cross, with much emphasis on sin and the confession of sin, and the need to be forgiven of sins, but little, if anything at all has been said about the resurrection. Why is the resurrection of Christ Jesus so vitally important to salvation, or for the proper understanding of the gospel message? So if Jesus died on a cross, then so what, or then what? Those deeper questions need to be asked, and the full understanding of what Jesus Christ accomplished for you needs to be understood.

Synopsis

If you enjoy history, and you had the opportunity of seeing people in Israel, seeing the Roman coliseums, seeing the Jews dressed in the style of clothing that you see pictures of in the history books, it makes an impression on you. Now consider that the Jews living back then saw Jesus just like any other man. Jesus came in appearance as a man, and if it were not for the overwhelming evidence, it would be difficult to believe someone claiming Himself to be God. How much harder would it have been for them?

Yet, the same is true today as it was then. If any man desires to know God, God will reveal Himself to him and make Himself known to him. But if a man wants to rely on his religion, then his heart will not be open to truth, and that is so sad.

Today, we have the scriptures recorded down for us by those who were eyewitnesses of Christ Jesus, who saw all that happened concerning Jesus of Nazareth, and who also had the scriptures of the prophets. Reconciliation Jesus Took Away Your Sins on the Cross

Synopsis

Salvation is receiving life, not a temporal life, but God’s life called eternal life. The only one who has God’s life to give is Jesus, who is God in the flesh. Salvation is coming to Christ for what He came to give us, Himself, Christ, that life of His Son, a life called eternal life.

The most basic problem of man is that he is dead to God, and in need of new spiritual life. He has a human spirit that is very much alive to this world, but dead to God. So unless a man is born again, spiritually, a new birth by God Himself through the Spirit of God, then you remain dead. The wrath of God against sin is death, and we were all born dead. So if we fail to come to Christ, we do not become dead, we remain dead, in the current condition we are in.

Synopsis

In general, people call in because they want to know what truth, to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Some may be infants in Christ, and others may be believers for quite some time, but have been wandering around in erroneous teaching, and are just beginning to grab a hold of what truth is. Even topics as basic as Baptism and the Lord’s supper. Even those that rightly understand that baptism, that of water, does not save you, but is a ceremony, do not understand the Lord’ supper.

There are those who are genuinely confused over baptism, and that can vary depending on your religious upbringing. But, as you read scripture, it would become very clear to you. Both John the Baptist and Jesus clearly tell us about the fact that the water baptism that John performed was to be replaced by the spiritual baptism that Jesus alone accomplished for us, placing into the body of Christ the moment you, by faith, came to accept his death, burial and resurrection for you.

The Lord’s Supper, sadly, has been more perverted than anything else.
