And again, I state what Paul stated so clearly, that without the resurrection we are still in our sins and to be pitied of all people, even though in His physical form He died for the forgiveness of sins. Bob: I think that you will probably agree that teaching through this series on A Closer Look at The Reality of The Resurrection, is one of the most exciting series that we’ve ever done. And, the resurrection of Christ is paramount to the Christian faith. It’s a matter of fact, it is so paramount that Paul said that without the resurrection. our faith is futile. We’re to be pitied of all people because we’re still in our sins. And so the whole essence of the Christian faith rests upon, was that tomb empty? Or was it as I’ve said so many times that the tomb of Jesus is the only one that is famous for who isn’t in it. And again, we have to either explain that away or fall on our face and give our lives to it, that tomb was empty. There had to be a reason for it. So when we access the Father, who do we access? The one who is full of grace and of truth. Why do we go to Him to receive grace and truth? You don’t go to God to instruct Him. I mean, just how much instruction do you think you can give to God? You go to God In prayer, to receive instruction, to receive grace in your time of need, finding mercy in your time of need. Most people think prayer is going into His presence to kind of get something from God, like a spoiled brat going in, who’s already been given everything and going in wanting some more. It’s like the spoiled little kid whose father owns Toys R Us and goes in and wants more toys. You already own the store. Yeah, it’s just amazing how our concept of God is and what our concept of what prayers are all about. Saved by the Baptism of The Holy Spirit Not Water Baptism – You Must Repent of Your Unbelief and Believe in Christ Jesus

In today’s Classic Christianity Radio program Bob discusses baptism of the Holy Spirit vs water baptism. Only baptism by the Holy Spirit, making a person born again of the Spirit, is the only way salvation takes place. Water baptism doesn’t do anything for you except get you wet.

Another caller called in about forgiveness of sins and the fellowship issue. Fellowship is always in the fellowship saved or out of the fellowship lost.

Then there was another caller that wondered about Acts 18:24-28 in regards to being saved by baptism vs baptism of the Holy Spirit and altar calls. Bob’s answer brings additional insights on to what was happening in the book of Acts at that point in time, in that some had not even heard of baptism of the Holy Spirit. They only had heard of John the Baptist, water baptism, pointing toward the One that would take away all their sins on the cross. Bob: I don’t think that I’ve personally in my 20 some years in the ministry have had any more fun than what I have had in teaching through these Bible study series. I started out as a brand new Christian and teaching whole Bible studies and it’s always just been something that has been terrifically a part of my life. Why, I guess I’m able to do what I do on the radio. Every night is the preparation work that God did in my life in those home Bible studies. Because all our radio broadcasts are to me just a great big old Bible study across the country. And having the privilege of taking these Fridays to teach on the air has been a privilege, beyond privilege to me.
