Jesus Wants to Give You His Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P589 (11-19-20)

Synopsis

As long as we live here on this earth in our flesh, we will face this conflict between what the flesh desires and what the Spirit desires. This is due to the sin-indwelling flesh we inherited in Adam that always wants to demand its own way. But we died to its control over us when we were born again. The Spirit of God took residence in us, and so we have a new identity as a child of God, learning to walk by faith, listening to the Spirit’s voice. The Spirit lives in us to teach us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions.

When we were born again, the flesh did not die but what did die is our identity as a sinner, from being a slave to sin to being set free in grace. We have been set free from the law of sin and death and have now been put under control of a new master. Sin still indwells our flesh but we don’ t have to be mastered by it. We have the choice to be under the Spirit’s control. We do so not because we have to, but because we want to.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus God From The Beginning Became Man

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P21 (11-18-20)

Synopsis

As we ponder over the biblical prophecies in Christ Jesus, let us keep in mind that this was in the heart of God before the creation of the world and mankind. Knowing that when creating man in His own image, there is a risk to that, that mankind might just choose his own way. God in His foreknowledge made provision for that, that if mankind should decide for himself what is right and wrong, to decide that he does not need or want God and wants to live independently of God, then there is a consequence to that choice. That consequence is that man will be separated from God, and be in a state of spiritual death. That is, Adam, when he sinned in the garden of Eden, died to the one who vacated Him, who was the Spirit of God living in him.

As a consequence of that choice, the entire human race was lost, being born in the nature of Adam, dead to God. God made provision to restore mankind back to himself. Through the prophetic words of the prophets, He predicted His entry into this world, how He would be born, born of a virgin, in a stable, in Bethlehem, and where He would start His ministry, in Galilee of the Gentiles, and how he would be betrayed by His own creation, and all in such precise detail, that only God in His foreknowledge could pull this off.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is the Light of The World and Life

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P20 (11-17-20)

Synopsis

As you read prophecy fulfilled, think beyond just that it happened and that it was fulfilled in Christ Jesus. Ask the Lord to reveal to you the meaning of the word of God to you, a spiritual meaning, a spiritual lesson that you can grab a hold of.

Oftentimes we read about the Pharisees or Judas Iscariot, and we might think we would never be like them. But, do you get caught up in the present affairs of this world, of unfolding events like you read about in Revelation. Instead of keeping your focus on Christ, you want to take matters into your own hands. Well, what if Jesus was walking here today, and you were so focused on your own agenda, to make America free. You do not like the way events are unfolding. So you let anger creep inside of you, and you decide to take matters into your own hands. You manipulate leaders and people to do your bidding, and get behind a leader to act in a certain way. But that leader has a different agenda. He does not take action like you expect.

Now, you are a Jew, under harsh Roman rule, living during the time of Christ Jesus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P19 (11-16-20)

Synopsis

As we resume our study in A Closer Look at Jesus Christ, in Chapter 6: Biblical Prophecies about Jesus Christ, we look at various prophecies of the Old Testament prophets, who lived over 700 years before the birth of Christ, and whose prophetic words were written down for us. These men could not have had such knowledge on their own, but the Holy Spirit of God revealed to them future events in history that would be fulfilled in Jesus Christ. They were told to record these things down for future generations to observe and then later be read through those who were eyewitnesses of these things, who wrote down the actual fulfillment of the event.

The eyewitnesses, the New Testament disciples and apostles, who ate and drank and walked on the earth with Jesus, heard the very spoken words of Jesus and observed all that He did and said in fulfillment of those prophetic writings of the Old Testament prophets. They wrote down what they saw and heard. All this was done so that the person of Jesus Christ might be revealed to mankind as to who He is, and by knowing who He is, receive what He came to offer mankind, eternal life, the very Spirit of God in Christ, to dwell in mankind.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Died For All Sins He Has Forgiven You

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P588 (11-13-20)

Synopsis

It is good to receive encouragement from other believers. We all face struggles in life, a son going off to fight a war, burdened when you see your adult son making bad decisions in life, struggles with bitterness or depression, finding it difficult to forgive others who have wronged you. There are all kinds of struggles we face down here. We know these struggles are temporary in light of eternity, but we want answers on how to deal with these things.

Bob himself is encouraged to hear when truth is received and lives are changed. Those who grab a hold of this truth are teaching the same truth that encouraged and helped them into the lives of others. There are bible studies started in prisons and over in other countries where people have been deployed.

Listen as Bob answers questions from various callers, continuing to help others with the gift of teaching God has given him. Of course, the starting point is knowing God as your Lord and Savior. The teaching about salvation, of life in Christ Jesus, is a practical message. Christ in you is your hope of glory, is your means of living in love and joy and peace in this world we live in.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Came to Set You Free

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P587 (11-12-20)

Synopsis

Tony asked a question about false prophets, those men who say they heard from God. Nobody today is getting direct words from God today. Those who prophecy today are proclaiming truth from the scriptures that have now been closed. The canon has been closed. Anyone proclaiming words of the Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses or the other cults is not a prophet. Not only is he not a prophet, he is a deceiver.

Stacey asked about why Jesus was tempted when he is God and is never tempted. Bob cleared up her misunderstanding. Someone can be presented the temptation to sin, but if you are perfect like God then that really is not a temptation to you. Sin was offered to Jesus by Satan is what is being said here but Jesus is not ever tempted by sin that he should sin nor does he tempt anyone to sin. We sin by our own evil desires.

There are many things we are tempted by but there may be a few things we are not tempted by. But if I was not tempted by something, then it would not tempt me if the temptation was presented before me.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
