Who Do You Say I Am

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 24 (05-22-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George shares from John 5, on the testimony of the Father concerning Jesus. Bob emphasized the life of the Holy Spirit living in a person, producing the fruit of the Spirit. That ultimately is the work Jesus came to do. One characteristic of the Spirit is love (Galatians 5:22-23). Then he shares from 1 Corinthians 13, explaining how Jesus came to expose the pride in man, that he may humble himself, recognize his state of spiritual death, and come to walk in the newness of life, with the Spirit of God living in him. The opposite of love is not hate, but pride. As a born again person, Jesus is showing us today how to live in dependence on the Holy Spirit of God. He is the vine and we are the branches. We love because he first loved us. Allow the love of he Holy Spirit to be produced in you and through you.

Bob George shares from John 5 on the testimonies of Jesus. We have read about his early life and his public ministry, his miracles, the testimony of John the Baptist, and where Jesus identified himself … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

True Repentance

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 7 (04-15-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues sharing truth from the gospel of John. Bob titled this message, “Are you prepared or are you scared?”

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but fear not [or be of good cheer] ; I have overcome the world.

It is not if you will have tribulation but when you will have tribulation. Each of us will face one or two or more tribulations. But rapture or death will come to all men. To many of us, death will come first. You will be absent from the Lord or separated from Him forever. If separated from God in death, then you will be in a place of eternal damnation along with Satan and his demons.

In this world you are going to have tribulation. Many people spend much time preparing for the things of this world. As you get older, there are those who prepare for retirement? As you are young, you prepare for a career path, by going to a trade school, working as an apprentice, or going to college for … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Took Away the Sins of the World

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 6 (04-10-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George shares from John 2 about the miracle of water turned to wine. This was Jesus first miracle when he started his public ministry at age 30. Many have heard what John had spoken concerning Jesus as the Messiah. They heard him say, “behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” When they saw this miracle there were those who believed in him. For no one can do what he did.

Bob also shared several passages in the synoptic gospels showing that Jesus had brothers and sisters. John 2:12, Matthew 13:55-56, Mark 3:31-32, John 7:1-6, and Mark 3:20-21 all record that Jesus had brothers or sisters. How important it is to stand firm in the word of God for truth and not rely on the traditions of men. When people deny what is so clearly stated and obvious in the scriptures, then what other errors are people willing to believe. That is the case with Catholic teaching that claims Mary was always a virgin and also that Mary is a co-redeemer with Jesus. That is heretical teaching. Such teaching is not found in the word … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Jesus Changes Water to Wine

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 5 (04-09-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues now in the book of John, chapter 2. He paused briefly to explain that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are referred to as the synoptic gospels. These gospels provide further details that are left out in the book of John. Each of the gospels had a different viewpoint since written to a different audience. Matthew was writing from the standpoint of legal rights to the Messianic throne. Luke provided a detailed account on the life of Christ. Mark wrote primarily to the Gentiles. John was written in 95 A.D. at the end of John’s life about the love of God.

In the first 18 verses, you read about the beginning and the word of God. Then in verse 19, you read John’s testimony.

John 1:19-20
19 Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders[c] in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. 20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”

In between this time and prior to verse 19, you read in the other gospels other details such as John baptizing in the Jordan river and … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Change Your Mind - Repent

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 4 (04-08-19)

Bob George TeachingBob George continues teaching from the book of John. He briefly shares from the gospel of Matthew to provide further information. John the Baptist came with an appeal to men to change your mind. So too is the same appeal for the hearts of men today concerning truth in regards to what you have been trusting for salvation. Are you depending on anything you can do to be in the presence of God? Then change your mind. All of Jesus and none of me. This is a personal decision between you and God. Do you believe what the bible says as revealed by Jesus Christ, the word of God? What does He want you to believe? Truth.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

You cannot say you are a believer in Christ and still go to a priest. You cannot say you are a believer in Christ and rededicate your life and commit to keeping short accounts with God. Do you say, “I am the initiator and He is the responder?” Is that true? … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P415 (2-15-19)

Bob George RadioBob answers some basic foundational questions callers asked on salvation as it relates to baptism, salvation, forgiveness of sin, and righteousness. Bob shares several passages of scriptures for each caller, showing from God’s word the truth they needed to ponder, so they can walk in that truth. Bob explained the meaning of scriptures to them so they could grasp the concepts that the Spirit spoke through him that he discerned they lacked in clarity of understanding. The callers asked sincere questions with a heart attitude of wanting to know truth. You can sense in how they asked that they really wanted to know truth and in their current walk in life these truths were being formed in them.

Bob clears up a little confusion Cletis had on what baptism is based on false teaching he was hearing from various things he has heard from new church he was attending. Leadership there were telling him that he should be baptized again. There is water baptism and there is spiritual baptism. There is water baptism, a symbol or picture of what Christ accomplished for us, but does not save you. It is only … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
