Jesus is The Mediator of the New Covenant

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P11 (06-16-21)

Synopsis

Faith is Understanding Jesus Forgave You Completely!

This New Covenant we are under today is a covenant of grace. When you think about what is the eternal inheritance that Jesus bought and secured for us, we cannot help but say, “Thank you, Jesus” and “Praise be to God for His marvelous grace.” This grace provided for us a new heart, the heart of God that is full of His love and compassion that we can access and allow to flow out of us. We have this unconditional acceptance, where we are free to fail without any condemnation, and can then boldly go to the throne of grace to instruct us, guide us into truth to correct our harmful behavior, with such tender-loving care. This is all part of this wonderful personal relationship with the living God, who rejoices over us, rejoices when we rejoice, and who delights in us. And to think that God, who created the entire vast universe with His spoken word, has such wonderful thoughts concerning me! He even knows every hair on my head.

Last, we have this wonderful promise of being eternally forgiven.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

In Christ Jesus You Are Eternally Secure in Him

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P10 (06-15-21)

Synopsis

Faith is Walking in Truth!

God has given us very great and precious promises so that we may participate in the divine nature. This was made possible by the New Covenant, that those who come to faith in what Jesus alone accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection, are now under and have received, which is Christ Himself, alive living in you. In Christ, we have been given a new heart, with unconditional acceptance, a personal relationship with God, and being made a forgiven person forever.

Just as there is nothing you can do to earn salvation, there is nothing you can do to lose salvation. There are no conditions put on you for God to accept you. The scripture simply says you are accepted in the beloved. Jesus took away the sins of the world, never to be seen again by God. Sin is what caused our death, and there is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood. Jesus shed His blood once and for all, so Jesus is not going to shed His blood again on a cross. Therefore, there is no more sacrifice for sin.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Will Give You a New Heart

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P9 (06-14-21)

Synopsis

As you read the book of Hebrews, you will come to understand the New Covenant we are under today, with so many precious promises for us. The writer of Hebrews contrasts this covenant with the Old Covenant that it replaced. The Old Covenant was conditional in nature, and was to the people of Israel, that if they could keep all the requirements of the law, the law of Moses, with all its ten commandments and regulations, God would be their God and they would be His people. But man could not keep that, and neither could you and I today, who think we can do better in obeying the ten commandments of Moses, and come up with our own religious system that we might approach God.

So to understand the need of the New Covenant, you have to understand the problem of all mankind. You have to understand what caused our death, and that there is only one solution to death and that is life, but not a temporal life, but eternal life. That life is a life that God intended for mankind to have when He created Adam in the garden of Eden, with the Spirit of God living in him.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is God the Word of God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P642 (06-11-21)

Synopsis

A very common misunderstanding is the concept of confession and repentance of sin. A lot of erroneous thinking comes from denominational influences. Many of us grew up in a Catholic or a Protestant type of church, so you probably have heard people say you need to confess your sins to a priest or to God. But very few people have really checked into the word of God to see if what is being said is true or not. Take a look at what Jesus said prior to His ascension back to heaven while he walked on this earth for some forty days. He said He came to prove the world wrong about what they think sin is, of what people think they need to repent of.

John 16:7-11
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

Ministers of a New Covenant

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P7 (06-08-21)

Synopsis

Are you competent as a minister of the New Covenant? Do you know what the New Covenant is, and can you explain that to someone else? That is so important to know and Paul instructed Timothy in this way.

2 Timothy 4:1-3
1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

But if you are going to preach the word, are you commingling law and grace or are you teaching the New Covenant, which the Lord says you have to be made competent as a minister of the New Covenant, a covenant that replaced the old one?

Now, you may not identify yourself as a minister because you are not functioning as a pastor with a congregation, but can you tell someone the hope you have within you, and the reason for that hope?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Salvation is Life in God Jesus

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The New Covenant P6 (06-07-21)

Synopsis

Have you ever asked, “What is the purpose of the law?” If you turn to Galatians 3:19-24, you have your answer. Why is this important to know? Bob George uses several illustrations to help explain this. He used illustrations of a hammer and a mirror. And, if we know what our role is, as ministers of a New Covenant (2 Corinthians 3:6), not of an Old Covenant, then we have a sure foundation in truth. This presumes you understand the difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant and that the New Covenant replaced the old one (Hebrews 8:7-9).

So a hammer is made for the purpose of building a house. In the hands of a carpenter then it can build something useful. But in the hands of a murderer, it can be used to beat someone in the head with. So there is nothing wrong with a hammer, but how it is used depends on whose hands it is in. So what do people do with the law? They use it as a means to obtain righteousness, or right standing, before God, and then use it to beat people in the head with, who they see are not conforming to the standards of the law.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
