Synopsis

When you become born again, all things become new. Yes, there is growth, a renewing of the mind that has to occur, and will occur. We have an enemy, called Satan, that speaks through to our flesh. We learn to recognize the voice of God and what truth is, so that we can demolish those strongholds, those lies of Satan, and begin to walk in the new life God has given. God is tender toward us, and we have been given a new identity, called a child of God.

That new identity we have, a child of God, not a sinner saved by grace or an ex-convict, but a child of God, and when you grasp that truth, that is the starting point in which growth occurs. When you realize that God will never leave you or forsake, and loves and accepts you unconditionally, then that is an anchor to your soul. If error is what binds you, then truth is what sets you free.

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at Jesus Christ P10 (10-26-20)

Synopsis

The religious mind is still bent upon establishing a righteousness of their own. But God came that we might receive His righteousness. At such a point in time in history, a person understands what God did for him through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He knows the meaning of what Jesus Christ alone accomplished for him and enters into a relationship with the living God. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, to be made complete in Christ. When you are born again, you have been made complete in Christ.

All of God is in Christ and all of Christ is living in you, if you are born again. Christ was all the fullness in bodily form, receiving all of his resources from God the Father, and now I have been given that completeness and fullness in Christ. You have the fullness of God living in you. That is what makes you complete.

So many people call in with questions they want answers to. Some wonder how we are meant to live the Christian life. Others wonder about end time events, like what has happened to Damasus. And in our world today, the end of the age certainly seems to be speedily coming toward the end. Time seems so short, like the rapture could occur within ten years. There are so many signs we see today, like Damascus being a heap of ruins, as prophesied by Isaiah.

But as curious as many people are toward end time events, the nagging questions people have about the meaning and purpose of life are still the same. It seems error seems to spread like wildfire and can never be quenched from being spread to the naive and those lacking discernment. The same errors are being propagated from generation to generation, from denominational persuasions of men and from the world. You still keep hearing the same questions. Is tithing for today? Why do pastors teach tithing? What is this strange teaching I hear about healing in the atonement? How can anyone find out what is true?

Let us learn about laying a solid foundation of Christ Jesus living in you. You must start with and continue on with gaining a deeper understanding of Christ, who is your life. It is not only going to be a foundation of what your hope of glory is, but it will be a foundation for you for subjects like predestination and election, which was discussed last week. It is a foundation in which to live in all godliness, which is by faith.

With any foundation, if your premise is off, then everything else will be off. Without a proper understanding of these things, without a foundation, you really cannot understand the scriptures correctly, they make no sense, and you are tossed to and fro by every wind of teaching. So we looked at Pentecost and how Christ is the head of the body, the church, the Ekklesia, made up of both born again Jews and born again Gentiles. Knowing God and His word, the meaning of the word as revealed by the Spirit of God, is really useful for practical living.Sometimes you wonder what happens in religious denominations, if they even know God or His word. You have people who just do not think, believing the King James only bible, and those who are into legalism. It sure makes you wonder if they even have the Spirit, because if you have the Spirit living in you, you would think you would be led by the Spirit. You cannot be led by the spirit and be led by the law at the same time.

As a person led by the Spirit of God, you will begin to realize when something is not working, those old thinking patterns you used to have as a lost person. You might be struggling in your marriage. But little by little you hear truth, and that truth is maybe taught in a different way than how you have been taught in your local denomination you assemble with and it just helps you to walk free, in a new and different way.

Should we confess our sins to God? Yes, to agree with God as to it being wrong, and as a child of God so you may learn truth that will set you free, and so you can walk in faith. But to ask God to forgive you of your sins is not walking in faith. That is asking God to do something He has already done. He will not go back to a cross to shed his blood all over again. To ask God for forgiveness when in Him you already have it is insulting Him and is like exposing him to public disgrace all over again.
