Anger Fear in Disguise

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P407 (11-22-19)
Note that P407 has been substituted to replace P494 audio issues.

Synopsis

Welcome to Classic Christianity Radio with Bob George. Let’s now join Bob George as he offers practical biblical insights as he helps people experience faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ.

Bob answered a call from Rick who was struggling with acceptance from his father. He was experiencing all kinds of critical remarks and belittling from his father and his response was one of anger. He called to get help in dealing with that anger. Bob, through many years in ministry, said that he hears this often from sons who have never heard a single compliment from their father. Bob himself testified that you would not believe the number of rejection and hate letters he receives that he has thrown in the trash over the years he has been in ministry. Bob directs people’s attention to the unconditional love and acceptance with God, that perfect love that casts out fear, and the passage in Ephesians 3 to grasp the love of God, to know the acceptance and approval that comes from God, and how much God is for you from the passage in Romans 8:31-32.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Believe God is Not Counting Your Sins Against You

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P493 (11-21-19)

Synopsis

We struggle with grasping the depth of God’s unconditional love and acceptance. When we make bad choices, that is, we sin against God and one another, what is our response to that? Do we hide in fear? For those in Christ Jesus, God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. He who fears is not made perfect in love. Do we think God is angry at us? Do we have this expectation of raging fire, being turned aside by God, that we have fallen away and cast aside by God? No, God has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He sealed His Holy Spirit in us. No one can snatch you out of My Father’s hands.

It seems our natural inclination is to withdraw in isolation or even make the problem worse, adding sin upon sin. Yet God says, come boldly to the throne of grace for help in time of need. We forget the wisdom of Proverbs that says that he who confesses and forsakes his sin will find compassion and mercy. Love covers over a multitude of sins.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith Says Thank You to God

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P15 (11-20-19)

Synopsis

Have you ever tried to share the gospel with those who have been taught from their traditions hundreds of years? How hard it is to tell someone that everything they have been taught is wrong! So many people today are still approaching righteousness with God based on what they do. This is the same thing Paul faced sharing truth with the Jewish people. They claimed they believed in Moses and have Abraham as their father. The Jews took offense at the fact that the Gentiles, the heathen, idol worshiping Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have received righteousness, and yet they, who work at obeying the law, have not received righteousness from God. Why not? They pursued a righteousness as if by works of the law and not by faith.

So Paul appeals to the Jews, those of his own race and upbringing, to consider what Abraham believed? Abraham believed God and his faith was credited to him as righteousness, and that before the law was given, before he was even circumcised. In those days, circumcision is not unlike baptism of today. It was a sign of someone’s faith. The sign of someone’s faith in God for those in the Old Testament was the sign of circumcision.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P10 (11-11-19)

Synopsis

We are now starting Romans 2. Bob recaps what he talked about last week, that he is not ashamed of the gospel, and neither should we, who are in Christ Jesus. Paul proclaims this gospel in Christ Jesus to the Roman empire with all its pomp and prestige, with its great army and as the leader of the known world. He addressed the sin of homosexuality, and pointed out that unlike other sin, people are taunting it. The root attitude of all sin is the attitude of “I do not need God” and “I will do it my way”. When a society of people decide for themselves right from wrong, with a government that forms such attitudes, they silence and eventually persecute the church, the people of God.

Now, Paul addresses first the Gentile, the most heathen nation on the face of the earth. Then he addresses the Jews. Both the Jew and the Gentile are both born in sin, dead spiritually. The Gentiles, who never had the law, are by nature doing things deserving of death. The Jews, who had the law, are boasting how self righteous they are, and judging the Gentiles for not obeying the law, when they themselves are not obeying the law.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Forgave You Believe It

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P490 (11-08-19)

Synopsis

It so encouraging, and so thrilling, to hear someone ask what it means to be born again, and then to readily accept the message, and become a child of God. When every day you share truth, and people hear truth, accept it as truth and see someone start walk in a new life. There is no greater joy to see people walking in truth.

Sometimes we get bogged down in our daily lives, being bombarded with legalism or teaching that just weighs us down. The day to day mundane things we do just seems to weigh us down at times. But to know that the time we ourselves get alone with the Lord, letting Him teach us the meaning of the word of God, and see the work God is doing in us. Then, as we simply share truth that has been revealed to us, that truth not only changes our own lives, but it overflows into the lives of others. That makes living so worthwhile.

Listen as Bob George shares with a young seminary student getting bogged down in his studies in theology that seems to distract him from being taught by the Holy Spirit.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Said I Am The Resurrection And The Life

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P488 (11-01-19)

Synopsis

Several callers asked common questions that people wrestle with today. How should I pray? Should I continually ask God for something over and over again? Should you wait and just trust God to work? How do I share the word of God, the gospel with my friends? Should I just let my actions speak louder than my words? What about persevering to the end? Is that what believers have to do to be sure they are saved? Is abortion sin? What if I am a believer and I have committed that sin? What do I do now?

Bob shares truth from scripture to help these callers in the situation they have found themselves. There is no sin that you and I as believers cannot commit. Like all of us, when we are ashamed of our sin, we want to hide, possibly out of fear of how others will respond to that sin. It is so important for us to recognize that those sins we commit, and will commit, had been placed on the back of God never to see them again, from His standpoint. He came to give you life. The Gospel is not getting your sins forgiven.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
