Faith in Jesus Sets You Apart in Him

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P3 (10-23-19)

Synopsis

Bob George is sharing from the book of Romans. He shares again that Paul is an ambassador for Christ, appointed by God to bring the gospel, the message of good news, of life in Christ Jesus, to Jews and Gentiles alike. Then he continues to share from Romans, starting at verse 7.

Bob shares how designations get assigned to people. There are designations that God gives to people. God gave the designation of apostle to Paul. God gave the designation of saint to all who are in Christ Jesus. And all of us who are in Christ Jesus are ambassadors. Then there is a designation that religion and false thinking puts on you. Religion puts burdens on you, telling you to burn out for Jesus.

In the world of Christendom, what kind of designations have you believed to be true? Are you just an old sinner saved by grace? First of all, do you understand the gospel of Jesus Christ that Paul is proclaiming? Have you believed and understood the message of grace in Christ Jesus? Are you born again?

If you are born again, then have you been given a new designation?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Took Away All Your Sins Once For All

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P483 (10-17-19)

Synopsis

Bob George was asked questions on forgiveness and salvation. Do you need to ask God for forgiveness when you sin? Do you need to confess your sins to God to get forgiveness? If you sin as a child of God, how do you confess your sin? What are you doing as a child of God when you confess your sin? If you do so many stupid things, should you feel guilty? Are people forgiven only when they accept Christ?

Bob was also asked what spiritual warfare means. Is it spiritual warfare when you are fighting kidney stones or some physical ailment?

Other questions asked were related to the end times. When will the last Gentile come in? What does it mean that the government will be on Jesus’ shoulders? When will that happen?

Bob answers these questions from scripture. Check and see. Let the Holy Spirit teach you from His word.

Jesus Gives Life To The Dead

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 85 (10-15-19)

Transcript

So it says that there are many things that Jesus did. They did not record all of them. In one account, it says they would not have filled all the libraries of the world, if recorded all the things Jesus did. But these things were recorded so that you, by believing in him, might have eternal life, eternal life he came to give us.

Now on to chapter 21. Jesus is saying first of all you have to come for life. I came here to show you that you are a sinner. I did do that to put you on a guilt trip. I did not do that for you to bury yourself and for you to get into introspection, saying “woe is me”. I came to show you the truth of something and that is that you have sinned.

Romans 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

You do not have to feel you are a lone ranger. You do not have to sit around beating yourself to death over this. I am pointing out to you your condition. There is a consequence of sin, which is death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The New Covenant Given

Classic Christianity – Book of John Part 82 (10-08-19)

Let us join Bob now as he gets started with today’s lesson. Let us pick up where we left off.

John 19:28-41
28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Jesus said, “Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit”. The body of Jesus died and the Spirit of Jesus lived on. Jesus said, “It is finished”. What did he mean by, “It is finished.” When you understand what Jesus came to do, to give life to us, that he saw us in our condition of spiritual death as a result of Adam’s sin, then you will come to understand what he meant. We quite frankly had nothing to do with our spiritual death. We were born dead spiritually as the result of the sin of Adam.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus God in the Flesh

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P479 (10-04-19)

Transcript

Danny from Nashville, TN

Danny: In my line of work, I meet a lot of people, and when appropriate I witness. Do you believe the Trinity?

Bob: The word Trinity is not in the bible. Neither is the rapture. But the scripture explains the concept of both. There is one God yet declared as three different persons; God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit.

  • In one place, Jesus said I will raise myself from the dead (John 10:18)
  • In another place, the Father raised him from the dead (Galatians 1:1, Romans 6:4)
  • In another place, the Holy Spirit raised him from the dead (Romans 8:11)
  • In another place, God raised him from the dead (Acts 2:24)

Bob: He was not raised four times. It was just a different way of saying God raised him from the dead.

Bob: As a seminary professor once said, “If you deny the Trinity you lose your soul. If you try to understand the Trinity, you lose your mind.”

John 4:24
24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.

Bob: What does Spirit look like?… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

The Finality of the Cross

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P476 (9-26-19)

Transcript

Tom from Louisville, KY

Tom: A friend of mine, a pastor of a church I go to, is not resting in the finality of the cross. From a passage in Hebrews chapter 3 where it says if we hold firmly to the end, the confidence we have at first, where he is trying to tell men you can lose your salvation. What does it mean to hold on firmly to the end?

Hebrews 3:14
14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.

Bob: The solution to biblical interpretation is context. What is the context of the first three chapters of Hebrews? It is about the superiority of Christ in contrast to the things the Jews are holding onto. He is superior to the angels. He is superior to Moses. He is superior to Abraham. He is God Himself. He is gearing us toward a rest, and that is coming up in chapter 4. That is the the Sabbath rest He wants us to enter into.

Bob: You know that you have the story of the Jews who were in Egypt.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
