Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P437 (5-03-19)
Bob received calls of encouragement for him to keep up the good work he is doing, speaking truth into the hearts of men. One caller accepted the gift of eternal life while listening to Bob explain the gospel message. Bob encouraged him to study the bible to know the truth and left him materials to help him grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, material that is designed to be read alongside the scriptures, so the Holy Spirit will reveal truth to men.
Bob also received a call from a listener to help sort through things he has been hearing in a bible study concerning the Lord’s supper. So many people are confused about the Lord’s supper, and are even scared to death that they do not receive the Lord’s chastisement for fear they have partaken of the Lord’s supper in an unworthy manner, being caught up in introspection over sin. Bob goes through the entire passage in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, explaining truth in context, exposing error in thinking and then explaining what the Lord’s Supper really is about, a celebration of joy and not fear, a … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Classic Christianity Radio (02-27-19) – The Mystery of God Part 3
Bob George continues sharing from Ephesians a mystery that has now been revealed to the Gentiles. In this mystery is the gospel message of God’s grace, applicable to all men, Jew and Gentile, that in Christ all will be made holy and blameless before God. The wall of hostility between Jew and Gentiles has been set aside.
Romans 3:9-12 9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
Romans 3:21-23 21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Classic Christianity Radio (02-26-19) – The Mystery of God Part 2
Bob George continues teaching from the book of Ephesians concerning a mystery that the Gentile is saved the same way as the Jew, by faith in Jesus Christ. God planned before the creation of the world that in Him we were chosen to be made holy and blameless. Jesus Christ is the object of our faith. Sin entered the world through one man, Adam, and death through sin, so death came to all men because all sinned.
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned
Sin, the cause of death, had to be solved for man to have new life, to be made holy and blameless. Only God is perfectly holy and blameless.
Psalm 99:5 Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.
So what man needs is the very life of God. The problem of sin was solved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Now, man is free to come to Jesus Christ for life. God was pleased to do this for … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
Classic Christianity – Encourage By Grace P1 (01-28-19)
Bob George shares from the Word of God to encourage believers by a message of grace. In part one of this three part series, Bob addresses the attitudes of faith. Let us begin now with the first four verses in Philippians 2.
By looking at just the first several verses, Bob explains what it means to be in fellowship with God. He further contrasts the Old Covenant under law with the New Covenant under grace, your new spiritual creation and identity in contrast to your inheritance in Adam, the ability to discern the things of God rather than leaning on your own understanding, and your freedom from death to life. Bob explains the root cause of sin, the consequences of sin, law contrasted with grace, and the grace of God resulting in a new freedom and attitude of thinking. He contrasts the attitudes of vain conceit and selfish ambition to the attitude of humility.
Philippians 2:1-4 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
