Classic Christianity – Christmas P4 (12-26-19)
Are you exhausted because you are trying to get something you either do not have, spiritual life, by means of the flesh, or thinking you do not have what God says you already have? Are you not resting in what Christ did? What did he do? Have you not heard? Or, have you heard, but have you rejected the knowledge of truth?
So if you have not heard, this is the truth. Man was born dead spiritually, without the life of God in him. But, you say, that is no fault of mine. That is what Adam did. Are you so exhausted in trying to perform to be accepted and loved? Do you have an emptiness in your heart? Even with your success in this world, you are now asking what the purpose of life is? Why am I here? Why do I feel so empty inside? Those are indicators you do not have the Spirit of God living in you. Have you sinned? If you just got angry at me even for asking that question, God says anger is the same as murder. If you lusted in your heart for a woman, God says that is adultery.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Christmas P3 (12-25-19)
Hebrews give a panoramic view of God’s dealing with mankind and the final solution in Jesus Christ. When you think of the Old Testament, what thought come to your mind? Have you looked at it close enough to realize how patient and long-suffering God was with mankind? Do you think of God as an angry God ready to pounce on you when you sin? Then you have not properly understood the heart of God and the purpose for which he came.
As you read about the continual failures of mankind, do you think God was surprised at that? Man was already born dead, without the Spirit of God in him. God, knowing all that, had a plan to restore mankind back to a relationship with Himself. See man is hopeless and dead in his trespasses and sins. So out of great love for mankind, God sent His Son, at the right time, to enter this world. He entered this world to show us his righteousness so that we can see our unrighteousness, and see our need. When you see the contrast between Jesus and ourselves, it is quite a contrast! The Old Testament, with the laws of Moses, was for the same purpose, to help us see what sin is, so that we can see our condition of death.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Christmas P1 (12-23-19)
As this time of year approaches, many people will hear about Jesus. They may hear about his virgin birth, as told in the gospel of Luke, about Mary and a virgin birth. Many will hear about the Jesus of history, about a man who died, was buried and even rose again, but have not really thought about what all that means or accomplished for you. You may know about Jesus, but do you know Him?
So let us get a bigger picture of who this Jesus is. The book of Hebrews provides a panorama view of what Jesus came to accomplish on our behalf. We get a big picture of the entire history of God working with man, starting in the Old Testament, and even the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. See, Jesus is God in the flesh, and He is the solution to the problem every man born faces, sin and death. God sent Jesus into the world to solve this problem.
The writer of Hebrews shows the history of mankind’s struggle in all this, as observed in the Old Covenant with the Jews, and then you see the significance of this ushering of a New Covenant God made with man.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Classic Christianity – Book of Romans P19 (12-09-19)
The first four books of Romans laid the foundation of the need of all mankind for salvation. Both Jew and Gentile were addressed as both spiritually dead, sinners by nature. Whether under the law or apart from the law, they are both spiritually dead since birth. Sin and death entered the world through one man’s sin, Adam, the first created being.
Now, in chapter 5, Paul is addressing the solution of man’s problem. Man’s problem is greater than sin. His greatest problem is he is spiritually dead. Sin caused his death. So until the problem of sin is taken away, salvation cannot be offered. Now, two fundamental questions need to be understood. What is death? What is salvation?
When Adam chose for himself to decide right from wrong, good and evil, he died. God had told him that the day you decide for yourself that you do not need Me, and choose for yourself right from wrong, good from evil, you shall die. Adam did that and he died. Death is the absence of life. Adam, when he was created, was created with the life of God in him. When Adam sinned, he died.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
