Synopsis

Let us learn what it means to build on a new foundation. That also means we need to destroy the old foundation, whatever it is made of, denominational sand, New Age thinking, worldly thinking, whatever it might be, and replace that foundation with the bedrock of Jesus Christ. As an analogy, you can liken that to erasing a chalkboard of false mathematical equations with the correct mathematical equations, otherwise you are easily confused when you have old information mixed with new information, and are tempted to use the old information you are so comfortable with. Your mind is hindered from being renewed when you are fed error and poisonous doctrine mixed in with the truth. So be sanctified, be set apart from the thinking of the world.

We have a solid foundation to be built upon Christ Jesus, who spoke to the apostles, brought everything He said to them back to their remembrance, so they could write down the thoughts of Christ. Synopsis

The word of God is living and active. In the word of God is the words of good news, the gospel of salvation. It speaks of an Old Covenant, a law of sin and death, that has since been replaced by a New Covenant with man, whereby sins and lawless acts will be remembered no more.

So the word of God has given us everything that we need to learn about the love of God that is contained in Christ Jesus our Lord. How then do we respond to someone who says “I do not believe the bible is the word of God? I do not believe the bible is true? Do you believe that bible is true?”

The word of God is likened to a sword that cuts open and reveals to us the attitudes of our heart. So if a surgeon has a knife to treat a person with cancer, to cut out that cancer or the person will die, what must the surgeon do? He has to cut it out. Synopsis

What is the effect of the word of God on men? When you read the word of God, how is it different from reading another book, one that is written by men? The word of God is God’s word to men to change lives, to set men free. You cannot separate the word of God from the person of God, who is the way, the truth and the life.

The only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. There is truth that sets men free from bondage to sin and error and lies. That truth is the person of God in Jesus Christ, and has been written down for us, that we may know Him, who is eternal life. In knowing Him, we come to know His thoughts and attitudes of heart. This is a dynamic relationship with the living God, and we get to know Him, who is true, through His word that He has given to us, as we rely on Him to teach us all that He has freely given us, as a born again child of God.

All of us have a past, and we did things we are not proud of, some more than others, as far as the types of sins we did, that are particularly sensitive. Take the example of the apostle Paul, for example. He formerly persecuted Christians prior to his conversion, dragging mothers and fathers apart, putting them in prison, being quite a violent man. You also have men like Nikki Cruz of the true story documented, in The Cross and the Switchblade, with such a horrible past in gang-related crimes as a New York city gang leader, yet he responded to the gospel message and became a changed man. In both cases, they both now share their testimony, not in great detail, but enough for people to know he is not who he used to be. That could be true if you were a former lesbian or a child molester with prison time. That is what you used to be or do, but God got a hold of your heart and you are changed.

Sometimes we struggle with answering questions that non-believers ask. They do not know the Lord so they ask questions without understanding and also from a perspective of the world. They could be caught up in believing all kinds of things that are not even true, like someone has a hex on them, or not believing the truth, that Jesus is God or the Trinity, that God is one, and there is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Many times they have a negative attitude toward religion, and whenever they hear the word Jesus, they automatically associate all that they hate about religion with Jesus, not distinguishing the difference between the two. I assure you there is nothing to hate about Jesus, but there is certainly much to hate about religion, the legalism and the lists of rules and regulations, and even false doctrine and a false gospel even though they use the name of Jesus, but certainly not the Jesus of the bible. In this day and age, with this so-called pandemic that disrupted our lives, many people are beginning to wonder what church is? Is it really a building you go to? And when you go to that building, listening to a pastor preach, what were you being taught? Do you feel guilt-ridden, that you do not measure up to some standard? Are you told that whenever you sin, you are out of fellowship with God? Listen as callers ask these kinds of questions, and are looking for answers to what it means to be a Christian. How is a Christian supposed to live? Is it supposed to be burdensome or are you supposed to experience love, peace and joy?

First of all, the assumption is you are born again, having the Spirit of God placed in you and made a part of the body of Christ, of whom Jesus Christ is the head. That is the church, you, a new creation, with the Spirit of God living in you, being led internally by the Spirit, who reveals truth to you.
