God so Loved that He Sent Jesus Who Willingly Died for Us so We May Live. What Love is This?

Can we comprehend God’s love for us? Here we are as stupid and arrogant as ever, and yet God Himself, in the person of Jesus Christ, comes to dwell with us. We tend to be so self focused, going our own way, but here is Jesus, asking us questions, reaching out to us, who are as dead to Him as the next guy. So what does He say to us that we should want to be with Him? What does He do that reveals to us what is lacking in ourselves, yet He loves and accepts us? What is that encounter we have when we realize how wretched we are, yet He says I already took care of your sin, and then He says, “I did this for you so you can have the life you really wanted to live but you never could.” How you ask? How is that two people can both hear the same message concerning Christ, and one will become born again and another not? Recall what Jesus told in the parable of the farmer who sowed his seed (Mark 4:1-25). As you read the scriptures, such as Hebrews, what is your attitude of heart? Do you read it with a filter on, as if only a priest can explain the meaning of it to you? Or are you reading it for answers to the meaning and purpose of life, that if I do not understand what this means, I will not be made alive or able to live? Are you reading it that if God Himself does not explain the meaning to me, I will not know what it means? Where is the condition of your heart, is it hard towards God or is it soft and pliable? The Only Solution to Death is Life and the Only Life Available to Man is the Resurrected Life in Christ Jesus

When we think of death, and if you have lived long enough, you have probably been to a funeral service or a viewing and have seen your loved one, your father or mother, your uncle or aunt, in a coffin. This physical death is a consequence of the sin that occurred in the garden of Eden. Sin entered the world through one man, Adam, and so death came to all men (Romans 5:12). But this physical death is a picture of a more devastating death, called spiritual death, which every man born in Adam is born with. Adam was born alive spiritually but chose sin and died. All of us born in Adam are born dead spiritually with the option to choose life. All mankind is now born dead to God, and that dead state continues on even while they are alive physically. Unless that problem of spiritual death is solved, all mankind is condemned already (John 3:36, John 3:17-18, Luke 19:10). As believers, we have a great desire for our loved ones to hear the gospel, receive the message and believe so they can experience all that God wants for them. If a mother is dying then you at least want to know if you will see your mother again in heaven with you, since the amount time remaining for her to even grow in Christ is limited or impossible. Bob and Amy George had the privilege to lead Amy’s dad to Christ a few weeks before he had to go back to Russia, under unbelievable obstacles and circumstances. That is so wonderful to hear and read about in Amy’s book, Goodbye is Not Forever. And, in Bob’s book, Classic Christianity, Bob shares about how his dad came to know Jesus also. Let Truth set you Free and Learn to Walk in Grace by Faith

As a new believer, you will tend to have more of a struggle in overcoming sinful habits, and that is not unusual, as you are just now on the starting line of having your mind renewed. Even as you mature in Christ, you will continue in that process of having your mind renewed until the day you meet the Lord. We will all continue to battle the flesh, and God knows our weaknesses and tendencies. We are all reminded to guard our life and doctrine closely and take heed that we do not fall, and to be gentle and humble toward others, as we ourselves could easily get caught up in any sin ourselves. By allowing God to change us, our thinking and attitudes of heart, our actions will be in accordance with who we are as a child of God, and our emotions will follow. You will no longer be miserable but experience the fruit of the Spirit God wants to produce in you and through you. Learn to trust the mercy and grace of God. Synopsis

So many people go through life hanging onto what they have been taught, whether right or wrong. If something is repeatedly shared since your youth, and you do not stop to ponder your life and your ways, you may die in that state. What a sad and heart-breaking way to live, either lost or without joy in your life, not experiencing the abundant life God had promised. Have you just stopped to think about your life? Why are tears streaming down my face? Certainly you can have tears when you lose a job or your own son suddenly dies under circumstances that should not have happened. But why have tears when you are seemingly at the top of your game, at the height of your career, adored by men? What is this emptiness that I feel? What is wrong with me? If I am believer, I know certainly there is nothing wrong with God or the words that Jesus spoke about concerning the abundant life He promised, that I should be experiencing?
