Bob George answered calls from several believers who wanted clarification of truth. There are many things people hear from the church world today. Oftentimes what they hear is confusing and contrary to what they have been reading in God’s word. There is a tendency to trust what a pastor says over what can clearly be revealed from God’s word. Remember, the Holy Spirit is your teacher and He will guide you into all truth. Take heed to His word.

Michael was puzzled about these parents who take their kids to psychologists to get treated for behavioral issues like attention deficit disorder. Where does that all come from. Bob tells people to go to the manufacturer. Who created our bodies and knows how we are made? God. Then go to God and find out about how our mind, will and emotions work. Yet, oftentimes, the first person we see is a psychologist, and more often than not, he does not even know the Lord. Why go to the ungodly for counsel?

Bob George received calls from several people asking for help in understanding scriptures or for help in a situation in life they are facing. From time to time, people call who do not know the Lord but their heart is ready to receive the message of the good news of God’s grace. That is the case when George called. Bob had the privilege to share the message of God’s salvation to him. He accepted that gift of eternal life and became a new member of the family of God. Barney had a question concerning the topic of what happened to Jesus when he died, Did he ever cease to exist. So Bob explained that death is simply a change in location. Either a person will spend eternity in a place called hell or in heaven with God. You can only go to heaven with Jesus. Believers have a longing in their heart to be absent from the body to be present with the Lord. But they know they will remain as long as the Lord desires so that they will be of fruitful labor for others joy and benefit. Several callers asked questions that showed their lack of discernment of scriptures. More often than not they are hearing incorrect teaching from the pulpit yet failing to check out what has been clearly revealed through simply reading of the word of God. Other times they are simply growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ but had not quite grasped truth from God’s word. By someone simply pointing out the meaning of God’s word, by asking simple questions from God’s word, the answer is more evident and clear. What also is beneficial is to have a clear understanding of law and grace and that everything written down in the word of God is not written to you. Those things written down by the prophets were often written to those still under an Old Covenant since Jesus had not yet come during their life time to replace the Old Covenant of law with a New Covenant of grace. Yet the prophets, by revelation of the Holy Spirit, also spoke of things to come and to be fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Bob George, on the air with the original People to People ministries, answers questions by callers from across the country on real life issues as well as the common questions. Andrew from Lubbock, Texas asked about the meaning of the head covering for a woman in the passage of scripture in 1 Corinthians 11. Bob answered what he knew from a translation or footnote in a translation that provided information that makes some of that passage more easily understood in its context of the day the letter was written. In that culture, the Gentile were very heathen, and had idols made of stone and sexual goddesses with temple prostitutes. The prostitutes in those days wore short hair or had their heads shaved. From bob’s understanding, a woman who came out of that sinful lifestyle and is now a believer may still have her head shaved and if she does not want to be identified with the “shorn” woman, that is, the prostitutes, she should have a head covering until the time her grows out. Your Sins Have Been Forgiven by God

Bob received a from Mark from Ketchner, Ontario asking about the meaning of the priesthood of believers. He also wanted to know if there is any association of the Catholic priesthood to the scriptures. Prior to the cross and throughout the Old Covenant, the Levites were the only priests in existence. The Roman Catholic priesthood came much later and is a man-made tradition. When Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross, he initiated a New Covenant with men, abolishing the Old Covenant with all its animal sacrifices and need for priests to carry out those duties for a temporary covering for sin. For a Catholic priest to say that he can absolve sins of man is heretical teaching. For such a Catholic system of sacrifice to exist today is in total contrast to God’s word. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. What basis is there for a continual, unbloody sacrifice of the mass? None! Jesus Christ sacrifice, his blood shed on the cross, was once and for all, and all sufficient to take away the sins of the world. Bob George received calls from people across the country. Many thank him for sharing the truth that he shared so clearly from God’s word. Cecilia called and was very appreciative of Bob’s clear teaching. She was very enthusiastic of sharing all that the Lord taught her. She had been sharing with her friends about the finality of the cross and God’s unconditional love and forgiveness. Bob and Cecilia encouraged each other in the Lord. For the sake of the listeners on the air, Bob shared again what Cecilia already knew from the Spirit, that we are responders to God’s love through his finished work of the cross. We do not go to God asking for forgiveness every time we sin. We simply say “thank you” for His eternal sacrifice for sin that He performed once and for all. When Jesus shed His blood on the cross, he took away all the sins of the world; past, present and future sins. Indeed, all our sins were future when he died.
