Salvation is Life Eternal

Classic Christianity Radio – Heirs of the Promise Part 2 (2-19-19)

Bob George first repeats a message from yesterday from the book of Ephesians that the believing HEBREWs and Gentiles, together are heirs of the promise of God in Christ Jesus. About 14 minutes into the audio, Bob explains this New Covenant He made with man, both HEBREW and Gentile, from Hebrews 10. Bob begins by asking the question, “This covenant we are under, is that for us?”

Hebrews 10:11-18 (KJV)
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus is Truth

Classic Christianity Radio – Heirs of the Promise Part 1 (2-18-19)

Bob shares a message from Ephesians that, as Gentiles, together with the HEBREWs we are heirs of the promise. In part 1 on this topic, Bob shares how to properly discern context from reading Ephesians. So often people read one passage and come to false conclusions about election and predestination. Looking closely at transition words like “Therefore” are clues to the theme or purpose of writing. However, punctuation and chapter divisions can be put in the wrong places. Oftentimes people form incorrect doctrines out of the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and the book of Acts, which are historical recording of events that happened but are not for forming doctrine. The epistles of Paul, like his letter to Ephesians, contain doctrine, yet even then wrong conclusions are drawn. Read the entire letter over and over again and look for the overall meaning and then let the Holy Spirit teach you. It is not the word that sets you free but the truth of the word, the meaning of the word of God, that sets you free. So Bob reads through the book of Ephesians, interjecting what the meaning of the passage is, who is being addressed, the HEBREW or the Gentile, as he is reading along, to clear up confusion.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Law And Grace

Classic Christianity Radio – The Mystery of God Part 3 (2-13-19)

Bob closes the study on Ephesians ending with the apostle Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians. They had heard the message of truth, the gospel of their salvation. Paul had heard of their faith and love for one another, and thought often of them. His prayer for them was for them to know God better, to have His Spirit and revelation for that purpose. As you read or study the scriptures, do you ask God to reveal truth to you so you may know Him better? Do you rely on what some teacher has said, or do you believe the truth because the Lord Himself taught you? It is sad to hear someone say I believe it is true because Bob said it is true. A teacher will share what the Holy Spirit revealed to him, but he will inspire you to check out the scriptures to test and see if what he says is so. If you have the Holy Spirit indwelling you, then you would come to the same meaning. The Holy Spirit is really the one who teaches you and reveals truth to you. Often times the focus of attention can be on a leader or a group and what they are doing, but that is not to be our focus.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

What is Grace

Classic Christianity Radio – The Mystery of God Part 2 (2-12-19)

Bob George provides insights on the subject of the mystery of God from God’s word. It pleased God to make known to you and me the mystery of His will. The Greek word for mystery is Mysterion. This is not like a Perry Mason novel. It is a hidden truth chosen at a time to be revealed to you. It is a revealing at a proper time. At the proper time, God chose to reveal truth to us, the born again.

Bob reminds the listener, those who are born again, of our great salvation, of the mercy and grace we received from God when we heard the truth of the gospel and believed. We received mercy when our sins were not counted against us because Jesus paid the punishment of death for sin that we deserved. Jesus died for the sins of the entire world when he shed his blood on the cross 2000 years ago. In Him, we received the forgiveness of sins.

Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

We also received grace, the Spirit of the living God, His holiness and godliness, when we believed and accepted by faith Jesus resurrected life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Walk By Faith

Classic Christianity Radio – The Mystery of God Part 1 (2-11-19)

Bob George provides insights on the subject of the mystery of God from God’s word. When many people think of the word mystery, they think of a mystery novel or maybe a detective show on television. In a detective mystery, a detective solves a murder from various clues gathered from interviewing suspects or witnesses and investigations surrounding a crime scene. When one thinks of a mystery in the scriptures, look back in the time period of the Jews and the Gentiles in the Old Testament before the cross. What information was known then? What could be known through the prophets and that which was written down through the Jewish scribes? Even though Moses wrote about Christ, many did not fully understand. How could they? There were clues alright but their meaning was hidden. Not until Jesus Christ came and explained what He came to do and then finished the work He said He came to do was this mystery understood. But not until the Holy Spirit came to dwell in men, where truth was made known in the hearts of men, was this mystery made known. Paul, appointed by God to be an apostle to the Gentile, explains what this mystery is, a mystery that was once hidden for ages, but has now been revealed to the Lord’s people.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Maturity is Getting to Know Jesus

Original date: 10-19-97 – Classic Christianity Part 3 (2-6-19)

Bob George discusses insights from God’s word. In part two, Bob addressed where true godly enthusiasm comes from, from God in contrast to worldly knowledge or fleshly zeal and the proud heart. He discusses the church, the people of God, who have been strengthened from God to do the work of the ministry, so in all things God will be praised. So God gives people as gifts to the church so that all will grow in maturity in Christ, to the unity in the faith, to the knowledge of the Son of God, and to the full measure of Christ, to know Him, to grasp how great is His love for you. Through God at work within the church, abiding in Christ, the fruit of the Spirit is made manifest. Bob continues teaching from Ephesians concerning the immature church, being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine and deceitful scheming of men. Bob shares about the proper operation of spiritual gifts in the church for building the church up to maturity in Christ. Bob provides examples of such teaching and scheming in today’s church while emphasizing the importance of the church in helping them grow to maturity in Christ.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
