Jesus Forgave You Once For All Sins

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P585 (11-05-20)

Synopsis

As people grow in Christ, you will have questions. Someone might ask, “I thought you would stop sinning once you are saved. Am I not saved then, since I am still sinning?” I think if you thought that, you will find out very quickly that that cannot be true, that you stop sinning. You will begin to sin less, but none of us will ever walk in complete faith in God, and that is the essence of sin. Anything that does not come from faith is sin.

So it goes back to understanding what Jesus accomplished at the cross, when he shed his blood once and for all, and about our fallen nature we inherited in Adam, and coming alive in Christ Jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, he took away forever our sins, and the sins of the entire world, from the eyes of God. He took the full weight of death required for all sin. That is why when we are in Christ, there is no longer any condemnation for sin. If you are not in Christ, that means you remain dead in your sins because you failed to come to Christ to receive life.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Believers Are The Church

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P575 (10-01-20)

Synopsis

In general, people call in because they want to know what truth, to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Some may be infants in Christ, and others may be believers for quite some time, but have been wandering around in erroneous teaching, and are just beginning to grab a hold of what truth is. Even topics as basic as Baptism and the Lord’s supper. Even those that rightly understand that baptism, that of water, does not save you, but is a ceremony, do not understand the Lord’ supper.

There are those who are genuinely confused over baptism, and that can vary depending on your religious upbringing. But, as you read scripture, it would become very clear to you. Both John the Baptist and Jesus clearly tell us about the fact that the water baptism that John performed was to be replaced by the spiritual baptism that Jesus alone accomplished for us, placing into the body of Christ the moment you, by faith, came to accept his death, burial and resurrection for you.

The Lord’s Supper, sadly, has been more perverted than anything else. Countless many have turned it into an introspection on sin, and have turned it not into a celebration of the New Covenant we are under but fear of eating of the bread and drinking of the cup in an unworthy manner, lest you incur condemnation.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Flesh and Blood Will Not Inherit the Kingdom of God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P564 (08-21-20)

Synopsis

What an opportunity to hear truth from like-minded believers, sharing truth from God’s word, asking good questions to learn from the Lord through His word, with humble and gracious hearts. There is nothing so moving, encouraging and touching than to hear a believer tell her story of how truth was revealed to her, and how her life, and that of her family, was changed as a result. You can hear their enthusiasm and gratitude of heart. It encourages the body of Christ to hear such things.

There are things that you read from these scriptures that you just do not always have answers to, those non-essential things such as when you die, when will you get your new body, immediately after you die or at the time of the rapture, spoken about in 2 Thessalonians 4. If you have already died, you meet the Lord first in the air, and meet Him along with all those who are still alive.

One of the keys to learning from the Lord is that when we have a firm passage of scripture, we do not go to the obscure to interpret the obvious. The obvious passage is that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P546 (06-19-20)

Synopsis

Life can certainly be frustrating. You are a believer and want to provide a better home for your family, and you find life difficult and you wonder how to live this life. You lose heart. Or you are a believer and you know your family is lost as ever. They have not understood the gospel and they do not even want to listen to the truth on such an important message. Whenever a topic comes up, they just stay clear of it. And your heart breaks for your family. Or you are a believer but you are married to a spouse who has gotten caught up in sinful behavior, such as a drug addiction or addicted to pornography. Several callers called on this program for help in how to deal with these life struggles and wanted wisdom in what to do.

There is always hope in Jesus Christ. We all know what sin is like, for we can all identify with Paul who said, “I do not understand myself. The things I hate to do I do and the things I do not want to do I do anyhow. What a wretched man I am.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Faith is Believing What Jesus Has Done

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P531 (04-30-20)

Synopsis

Many times people called on the Classic Christianity radio program to get clarification and understanding. One of the most common things people call in about is that they are confused about this deal on forgiveness of sins. When you sin, are you supposed to confess those sins to God and ask for forgiveness? What is sin? Are there different categories of sin, such as positional and what about the future sins I do? These questions reveal a serious lack of understanding of something so vitally important as to what salvation is.

Listen as Bob converses with Martha in answering such questions, explaining to her what Jesus already accomplished, that his death took away the sins of the entire world. Jesus entered into our death with us, so we can enter into His resurrected life with Him. Jesus death on a cross is preparation for life to be given, and it is not faith to ask God to forgive you of sins for that is something God already did. When He sent Jesus to shed His blood on a cross, that was only done once and will not be done again, and that took away, forever, the sins of the entire world from the eyes of God.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message

Jesus Saves a Person by Grace Through Faith
Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P514 (02-21-20)

Synopsis

The grace of God has truly appeared to all men, teaching us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Sometimes circumstances of life have a way of leading us to fall into temptation or to compromise what we know is true. We should never let ourselves be polluted by the world, whether it is your own mother, who is old now, a non-believer, whom you bring into your own home. You should be influencing her, and not her influencing you into idol worship. You have the truth concerning Jesus Christ. It is good you let her into your home and take care of her, and you should, for religion that is undefiled is this, to look after widows and orphans in their distress. And if you do not look after your own, then you would be worse than an unbeliever. But tell her about Jesus Christ. Make use of every opportunity to proclaim Christ. In this world, there will be false teaching everywhere you turn, even among people who proclaim they know Christ, but add or subtract from the gospel.… Click to Read More And Follow Along With The Message
