A Scriptural Journey to Discover the Grace of God

Call-In Classic Christianity Radio – Bob George P793 (12-09-22)

A Scriptural Journey to Discover the Grace of God ~ Bible Study

~ Well, I’ll tell you, Ted, there’s a lot of things that you can do. In a study like that. The thing of it is, I don’t know the maturity of the people that you’re talking about. Whenever I’ve gotten in with a group, I start right at the beginning, because I’m not going to assume anything. We have a book called “A Scriptural Journey to Discover the Grace of God.” And basically it is dealing with eight lessons. That, to me, are the foundation of the Christian life. Actually, these are eight lessons. And they’re foundational, and if you do not have a solid foundation, it doesn’t matter if a difference where you’re teaching the book study, you’re not you’re not going to grab it because you can go through a book study and still not get a hold of the truth of some of these foundational truths, law and grace. You can go through a study and study their book of Romans and still not understand whether you’re under the law, whether you’re not. And so these … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

God is Spirit and You Must Worship in The Spirit and in Truth

Marlene called from San Diego, California. She had a question regarding the trinity of God; God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Bob explains that first we need to back up and understand that God is Spirit, and we must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. And let’s not go putting flesh and blood on each one. We have a difficult time understanding the trinity because we want to take three entities and place bodies around each of them. How Spirit exists, we do not know. What we do know is God reveled Himself to us in three persons. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

John 4:22
22 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

And that Truth was reveled to us by Jesus Christ Himself. Jesus made it very clear, and also the teachings in the New Testament make it very clear. So we don’t need to comprehend it but we do need to apprehend it.

It says in the scriptures that there is … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Allow the Holy Spirit to Teach You

If you have the Holy Spirit of God, alive living in you, then you have the ability to understand all truth. The Holy Spirit is our teacher today. Yes, man can help guide you, and the church has been given teachers, but don’t place your faith in what a man says. He could be lying to you or teaching you error knowingly or unknowingly. We are told, that those in Christ Jesus have the mind of Christ living in them.

So as you go along in the bible study guides, allow the Spirit of God to renew your mind in truth. Don’t rush through them, it is not a race to see how many questions you can answer, but they are designed to walk you through the word of God in context. The questions are in the context of the subject matter, and so they are to be thought about in the context of the New Covenant that we now are under.

We encourage you to pick up your bible study guides today and go through them and allow … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

It is Finished on the Cross

Classic Christianity – A Closer Look at The Finality of The Cross P19 (09-20-21)

By the Spirit, Study the Word to Know the Truth About Forgiveness and Salvation

There is a lot of misunderstanding of the finality of the cross in the world of Christendom today. When you know the truth from the Word of God, then whatever error is out there can easily be spotted. When Jesus said, “It is finished” when dying on a cross, what did He mean?

John 19:30
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.

What is finished? What was accomplished when Jesus died on a cross? And, was His death all that was necessary for man to be saved? To be saved means to be saved from death by being made alive in Christ. Death is an eternal separation from God. … Listen to Broadcast & Read More

Synopsis

A common question asked is in regard to the law. What is the law? Does it include the ten commandments as well as the dietary laws? Are those laws, particularly the ten commandments, a guide for us to live by? For Christians? Should believers be teaching people to obey the law? We all fall short of the law. We all have sinned. Can we ever be made holy by what we do? These are some of the most frequently asked questions.

First, what is the purpose of the law? Was the law ever added to make us righteous? According to the apostle Paul, no one will ever be made righteous by observing the law. It is through the law that we are conscious of sin. Why then was the law given? Paul even says the law is holy, righteous and good. But then he discovers that he is not righteous, and the law only stirred up sin in him. And that is the problem. The law is like a mirror. A mirror can show you there is dirt on your face, but a mirror cannot be used to remove the … Listen to Broadcast & Read More
